Springer..

Jerry Springer, the former Cincinnati mayor and long time TV host whose tabloid talk show was known for outrageous arguments, thrown chairs and physical confrontations between sparring couples and homewreckers, has died, a family spokesperson said Thursday. Springer was 79.
"Jerry's ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word," Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesman for the family, said in a statement.
Springer once told CNN that he did not mind being referred to as the "grandfather of trash TV," saying in 2010, as "The Jerry Springer Show" celebrated its 20th anniversary on the air: "It's probably accurate. I don't know what the award for that is, but I think it is true that we were probably one of the first shows to present some of the outrageousness we have.
Talk Shows moved to fake News, paid opinions, debating the anticipated of what's next and talk, talk, talk nowadays.

The United States gave JPMorgan (JPM.N) permission to process payments for agricultural exports via the Russian Agricultural Bank, but the arrangement was no substitute for reconnecting the bank to the SWIFT system, two Russian sources told Reuters.

Access to the SWIFT payment system for the Russian Agricultural Bank is one of Moscow's main demands in negotiations over the future of the Black Sea grain export deal, which the United Nations says helps to tackle a global food crisis that has been aggravated by the Ukraine war.
Russia's grain and fertilizer exports are not subject to Western sanctions imposed following the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, but Moscow says Western restrictions on payments, logistics and insurance are a barrier to shipments which has a chilling effect  on poor Countries.
Let us take a different approach to peace. Sanctions on the Russians didn't help the West, the East, the rich and mainly the poorest people and nations of the world.

Tucked in..

Fox News unexpectedly announced late Monday morning it “agreed to part ways” with Carlson—the unabashedly conservative host who anchored the second highest-rated cable news program last year.

Carlson was expected to play a major role in a defamation trial in a case Dominion Voting Systems filed against the network—in part over allegations Carlson recklessly promoted false conspiracy theories on his show about the company being involved in election fraud.

The ouster of Fox's top opinion host comes less than a week after Fox settled an epic defamation lawsuit by an election technology company for more than $787 million.

Dominion Voting Systems sued over segments promoting bogus claims that election fraud cheated then-President Donald Trump of victory in 2020.

The BRICS have an estimated total population of about 3.21 billion,[3] or about 26.7% of the world's land surface and 41.5% of the global population.

Brazil, Russia, India, and China are among the world's ten largest countries by populationarea, and GDP, and the latter three are widely considered to be current or emerging superpowers

All five states are members of the G20, with a combined nominal GDP of US$28.06 trillion (about 26.6% of the gross world product), a total GDP (PPP) of around US$56.65 trillion (32.5% of global GDP PPP), and an estimated US$4.46 trillion in combined foreign reserves (as of 2018).[4][5]

The BRICS are considered the foremost geopolitical rival to the G7 bloc of leading advanced economies,[1] announcing competing initiatives such as the New Development Bank, the Contingent Reserve Arrangement, the BRICS payment system, the BRICS Joint Statistical Publication and the BRICS basket reserve currency. Since 2022, the group has sought to expand membership, with several developing countries expressing interest in joining.[8] The BRICS have received both praise and criticism from numerous commentators.[9][10][11]

Weaponization..

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says three of the largest players in international trade are conspiring to diminish the supremacy of the US dollar.

Yellen says that while the weaponization of the US dollar is a very effective tool in deterring bad behavior on the global stage.
It’s not just the United States. It’s a coalition of partners acting together to impose these sanctions. So it is a very effective tool. Of course, it does create a desire on the part of China, of Russia, of Iran to find an alternative.”
Last year, Russia agreed to sell oil to China in exchange for yuan. In March, China broked deal that saw the restoration of diplomatic ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, two of the world’s largest oil producers.
It appears that the US weaponize the use of the dollar, use the military to defeat countries, or change regimes and the end results are punishment for poor people in various countries.
Obviously the allies agreed with many of these actions and later see the results that was not in favor as it agreed upon.  Just a thought.

Caveats..

A typical EV owner saves $6,000 to $10,000 over the life of most such vehicles compared with a gasoline-only model, according to a Consumer Reports study from 2020.
Since that study was published, many EVs have gotten cheaper and conventional vehicles more expensive.
When comparing similar cars on total cost during ownership, "battery electric vehicles tend to come out ahead of [internal combustion engine] vehicles, on average."
However, there are many caveats that could change that outcome for an individual buyer.
These include regional electricity and gasoline prices; the availability of home vs. public charging, the latter of which is typically more expensive; and the range of the electric vehicle.   Just a "Cost related" thought.

Debt..

Classify..

Many are questioning why the Pentagon files leaked documents happened. The White House is trying to put a spin on the issue.

The more important question here is why these files are kept a secret.

As a result of these files released ,not that anything was new in it, but it shows that when these files are kept away from the public, the politicians and the people in charge put a different spin other than the truth regarding these matters.

The Media talked about the Chinese balloons spying on USA but the secret document shows we are spying on our allies and enemies alike.

In otherwards, the public officials would be more transparent as President Biden keep his word of transparency if these documents are not classified.

Just a thought.

Immoral....

The short-term effect of raising the debt ceiling to accommodate more federal spending and borrowing would be more inflation, a hidden tax which has been robbing Americans of thousands of dollars annually for the last two years.

To continue on that path is not only fiscally irresponsible, but fundamentally immoral.

Judge Eric Davis uttered few words.    "The parties have resolved the case."  in Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6-billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News:

Minutes later, one of Dominion’s lead attorneys, Justin Nelson, announced that the company had agreed to settle the case for $787.5 million. “Lies have consequences,” Nelson said. “The truth does not know red or blue.”

Twitter labels NPR's account as 'state-affiliated media,'  NPR said they operate independently of the U.S. government. NPR has asked Twitter to remove the label.  But Twitter CEO Elon Musk says it "seems accurate."

It seems that the liberal Media outlets are singing the praises of the Government even if they claim independence particulary when it comes to war, prewar, etc.

The Good book tells you "the Truth shall set you free", yet the Media may wants to dance around with a mix of true and fake news.

Investigation..

The Washington Post previously reported that federal investigators believed they had gathered enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax crimes and a false statement related to a gun purchase.

Two senior law enforcement sources told NBC News about "growing frustration" inside the FBI because investigators finished the bulk of their work on the case about a year ago.

A senior law enforcement source said the IRS finished its investigation more than a year ago.

The IRS Criminal Investigation division, the Justice Department, the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware and attorneys for Hunter Biden declined to comment.

Caloric..

Caloric restriction has been shown to slow aging in a groundbreaking study, with effects similar to smoking cessation interventions. The CALERIE™ trial found a 2-3% slowing in aging pace in healthy adults, suggesting that slowing human aging may be possible through interventions like intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating.

Calorie restriction, a proven intervention to slow aging in animals, showed evidence of slowing the pace of biological aging in a human randomized trial.

We have reason for everything and every war US entered.

"Dictator in Syria", and we go there create 10 million refugees, famine, death of children according to the UN, and thousands killed.

InSync..

Senior Ukrainian officials are upset by a leaked “top secret” assessment suggesting Ukraine would make only “modest territorial gains” from its planned operation.

Kyiv says the document shows the U.S. is once again underestimating its military’s capabilities.

The Washington Post, which reported the document, said it was part of the growing leak of classified U.S. intelligence on the war in Ukraine, China, Israel and other global hotspots.

“The same people who said Kyiv would fall in three days are now leaking harmful and equally ridiculous information ahead of an offensive critically important for the entire free world,” said a person in regular contact with senior officials in Kyiv.

The comments make clear that the United States and Ukraine aren’t as in sync as both countries claim 14 months into the war. It could also portend less trust between Washington and Kyiv. Just an "InSync" thought.

UN

The United Nations has raised concerns with the United States over reports that it eavesdropped on the private conversations of the UN secretary general, António Guterres, and other senior officials.

The leaked Pentagon files appear to show Washington was closely monitoring conversations between the secretary general and his aides.
The documents included embarrassing allegations that Guterres had expressed frustration with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
It followed a BBC report last week that the US felt Guterres was too sympathetic to Russian interests when he helped broker the Black Sea grain deal amid fears of a global food crisis. According to the broadcaster, one classified Pentagon file indicated that Guterres preferred to preserve the deal even if it meant accommodating Russian interests.

The Lies..

President Biden has cited the strength of the widespread international commitment to the mission of defending an independent democracy against a brutal aggressor.

But newly leaked secret U.S. government documents provide details of how some close non-European allies have been reluctant to provide arms to Ukraine, and in the case of Egypt, even considered supplying rockets to Russia

Still, the documents shed light on the Biden administration’s difficulties in getting material help from Israel, Egypt and South Korea, for whom loyalty to the U.S. is balanced by a perceived need to refrain from offending Russia.

The documents didn't show secrets other than Biden giving a different spin on the Ukraine war, and camouflage the reality of war.

 Just a "classified" thought.

Macron..

French President Emmanuel Macron made a high-profile state visit to Beijing last week accompanied by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, just days after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in the northeast port city of Tianjin on Thursday, following a visit by Chancellor Olaf Scholz in November. The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, would have been in China this week, too, but he tested positive for COVID-19.
As an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xi could play a pivotal role in helping to end the war in Ukraine. The conflict has dragged on for over a year, driven up energy prices and inflicted more damage on economies struggling to rebound from the coronavirus pandemic.
The writing is on the wall.  Just a "shifting "thought.

Affiliate..

NPR will no longer post fresh content to its 52 official Twitter feeds, becoming the first major news organization to go silent on the social media platform. In explaining its decision, NPR cited Twitter's decision to first label the network "state-affiliated media," the same term it uses for propaganda outlets in Russia, China and other autocratic countries.

The decision by Twitter last week took the public radio network off guard. When queried by NPR tech reporter Bobby Allyn, Twitter owner Elon Musk asked how NPR functioned. Musk allowed that he might have gotten it wrong.

Twitter then revised its label on NPR's account to "government-funded media." The news organization says that is inaccurate and misleading, given that NPR is a private, nonprofit company with editorial independence. It receives less than 1 percent of its $300 million annual budget from the federally funded Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Let us not kid ourself, some aren't news outlets.

Recover..

A Yale School of Public Health study has found that older persons with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a common type of memory loss, were 30% more likely to regain normal cognition if they had taken in positive beliefs about aging from their culture, compared to those who had taken in negative beliefs.

Researchers also found that these positive beliefs also enabled participants to recover their cognition up to two years earlier than those with negative age beliefs. This cognitive recovery advantage was found regardless of baseline MCI severity.
“Most people assume there is no recovery from MCI, but in fact half of those who have it do recover. Little is known about why some recover while others don’t. That’s why we looked at positive age beliefs, to see if they would help provide an answer,” said Becca Levy, professor of public health and of psychology and lead author of the study.

Autonomous..

On his flight home from Beijing, Macron gave an interview to POLITICO Europe. In it, he said that Europe must not become “just America’s followers” when asked about the prospect of China invading Taiwan.

“The question Europeans need to answer … is it in our interest to accelerate [a crisis] on Taiwan? No.
The worse thing would be to think that we Europeans must become followers on this topic and take our cue from the US agenda and a Chinese overreaction,” Macron said, adding that Europe must not get “caught up in crises that are not ours, which prevents it from building its strategic autonomy.”
Strategic autonomy is a Brussels term that refers to the EU having an independent geopolitical policy, which relies in part on the bloc being able to become a third power and not get squashed between the US and China.
However, the China hawks, typically in Eastern Europe, have always been skeptical of anything that puts clear water between Europe and the US, who they see as the ultimate protectors of European territory through NATO.
