Mood...*

"Exercise is the single best thing you can do for your brain in terms of mood, memory, and learning," Harvard researcher.

The Mayo Clinic summarizes the benefits of exercises as follows
Controls weight, Combats health conditions and diseases, Improves mood,
boosts energy, puts the spark back into your sex life, and it can be fun.

Exercise is medicine.

Exercises is the first step in the process to lose weight.  Other steps are more crucial than exercises.

You can exercise anywhere. No Gym membership is required. What is needed is the knowledge that this will benefit you greatly.

Walk slow, walk, or walk fast can be very beneficiary to the individual. Choose what is convenient for you depending on your physical conditions. (Consult with your Doctor)

Strength building is an important part of the exercises.

Make it a habit. Exercise daily and you will be amazed at yourself. No cost here. It is free.

A German court has found seven men guilty of burglarizing churches to financially support  extremists fighting in Syria.
Cologne's regional court sentenced the men to between three years and five years in prison for the robberies.

Judges say that there's sufficient proof the men aged between 24 and 37 broke into up to five churches and other buildings between 2013 and 2014.

In Monday's ruling, judges said it was unclear whether the funds they generated were actually used to support armed jihad and if so, to what extent.

An eighth man was sentenced to two years and 7 months for serious bodily harm.
Five defendants are German citizens, two hold German and Tunisian citizenship, and one holds German and Moroccan citizenship.

Selfie habit on Snapchat was a bit outside the norm but the habit is explained.
A study led by Ohio State University Professor Jesse Fox, men who post a lot of selfies to the web, tend to exhibit higher levels of narcissism and psychopathy.

So to all the gym rats posting mirror selfies and the guys behind the wheel in shades giving a "whats up" look, you may have a problem.

The study found that men who edited their photos have higher levels of narcissism and self-objectification. The only good thing is that these men are not necessarily psychopaths. Fox explains that psychopathy is related to impulsivity. Impulsive people wouldn't bother waiting to edit their photos.

The study compiled data on 800 male participants between the ages of 18 and 40, all of whom completed an online survey about their selfie-taking habits.
The University explains that while all subjects exhibited higher levels of these traits, they were still all within the range of normal?  Fox is looking into whether our online friends encourage us to post more selfies.   But what about the gals?    Just a thought.

Interior minister Anders Ygeman told Sweden’s newspaper that as many as 80,000, of the 163,000 who sought asylum in Sweden would have their applications rejected, meaning they will be returned to their home countries.

“The first step will be to go with voluntary return, and to create the best conditions for that,” Ygeman said. “But if that doesn’t work, we will need to have returns backed up by force.”
He said that the Swedish government hoped to strike deals with other EU countries over coordinating flights to return asylum seekers.
The Swedish government admits that there is “a significant risk” that large numbers of rejected asylum seekers will attempt to stay without papers, and intends to hire more border police, and deter businesses from employing those who have had their applications refused.

Pakistani Interior Minister said " we cannot accept those Afghans, Bangladeshi, Burmese and Indians as Pakistani citizens who manage to get fake documents by the virtue of a bribe, and some of the refugees were accused of having terrorist ties."

On the other hand, those who stayed  in Sweden, will have more difficulties in life they never thought of before. Coping with Freedom of expression is not quite understood. That is the secret of life.

"Sharon Bialek accusing Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain of sexual harassment in November 7, 2011.

Herman Cain, a former Pizza chain executive, is another "Pizza man", a rising star in the Republican hopefuls for the presidency of the United States of America. He introduced the 999 tax plan which was very attractive for a while.

Soon enough few women came out of nowhere accusing him of unwanted sexual harassment. We all want to know what did he do to the accusers, a juicy story.

Then Ginger White came out to indicate that she had a relationship with him, on and off, for over 10 years. [This wasn't a one night thing repeated monthly.] So here ya go. He is no longer running.

What is it with men who always need recognition by another woman?
What gets us uncomfortable with any mention of a such a story or a relationship? and what makes the man an awful person and the woman a temporary hero?

The hopes of the presidency evaporated, and the hopes of thousands who looked up to him did the same. Yet the good time, and memories will last forever!

In New York City, Spektor studied classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music until she was 17.  Although the family had been unable to bring their piano from Russia, Spektor found a piano on which to play in the basement of her synagogue, and also practiced on tabletops and other hard surfaces.

Division...*

The division between Iraq's Sunni and Shia is the oldest in the Middle East. It is one which seems increasingly shaping the destiny of this region.  Thousands of devotees from both sides pour into Syria. Jihadist [al-Qa'ida] volunteers on the Sunni side and Hezbollah militants on the Shia, are joining what is fast becoming a transnational civil war between the two factions. Now into Iraq.

The majority[ Shia] became in charge of Iraq after the invasion on 2003 and the fall of Sad-am. Now all of a sudden, the Sunni got support and ready to fight while the Shia just walked away. The Sunni control many towns moving to Bagdad [power] and the oil fields [source of funds].

So the fight will continue. At the end, the Kurds will be standing over the collapse of others. Then the Turks would fight them.

Netanyahu, who deals with both on a daily basis, said both the radical Shi’ites, led by Iran, and the radical Sunnis, led by al-Qaida and ISIS, are both enemies of the US. “When your enemies are fighting each other, don’t strengthen either one of them.  Both sides would want US to inter the conflict, then turn against US.

Austrian police arrested eight suspected terrorists in a series of early-morning raids in the country's two largest cities that mobilized heavily armed SWAT teams and hundreds of officers supporting them.  Those detained were suspected of involvement with extremist group.
Police also struck simultaneously in Vienna, in twin operations that the statement said utilized 800 police.

The raids come less than a week after police in Vienna detained a 17-year-old they describe as belonging to "radical Salafist" circles who they said has confessed to experimenting with building a bomb.

They appeared connected to investigations of followers of a Serbian-born Islamic cleric sentenced last year in Graz to 20 years in prison for recruiting dozens of young men to fight for the Islamic State group. The 35-year old preacher was found guilty of inciting others to murder and of coercion.

Interior Ministry figures show that approximately 300 people have left or tried to leave Austria to fight for radical groups in the Middle East since 2012. Of these, 90 have returned while 50 are listed as having been killed in fighting.

OZ had a history of being a bit overly enthusiastic about some of the alternative and nontraditional treatments he’s highlighted, resulting in countless scammers cashing in on the questionable weight-loss treatments he’s described as “miracles,” like the green coffee extract that is the subject of an ongoing federal action.

Senator Clair McCaskill, Chair, grilled the talk show host in her opening remarks.   "I'm concerned that you are melding medical advice, news and entertainment in a way that harms consumers."

Oz admitted that his "cheerleading" of products that are often used as "crutches" has caused trouble for himself and the Federal Trade Commission, but he said he stands by his research.

"I do think I've made it more difficult for the FTC," Oz said. "In the intent to engage viewers, I use flowery language. I used language that was very passionate that ended up being not very helpful but incendiary and it provided fodder for unscrupulous advertisers."

Kintner's office later released a statement saying: " I was not implying support for putting women in fear of their personal safety. I took down the retweet as soon as I became aware that it was being misconstrued."

Nebraska Democratic Party chairwoman celebrated Kintner's announcement.
"The Women's March just took down their first politician.

Some were bemused by his 2013 comment to a newspaper, which asked him what he considered the biggest mystery. Kintner responded, "Women. No one understands them. They don't even understand themselves."

He paid a $1,000 fine last year for misuse of state property, after he admitted to engaging in mutual masturbation in July 2015 with a woman using Skype, an online video-chatting service. Kintner reported the transgression to the Nebraska State Patrol after the woman threatened to expose the encounter unless he paid her $4,500.

She's a spokeswoman who rarely speaks. A political novice helping run one of the most rambunctious, unpredictable presidential campaigns in history. A former model who is almost never
in front of a camera. In any other election year a 27-year-old who hadn't so much as volunteered on a political campaign would not be controlling communications in a presidential contest. But this isn't any other year.
Meet Hope Hicks, one of the unlikeliest breakout stars of the 2016 campaign. If proximity is power—and in presidential politics it is—Hicks is one of the most powerful people in America. When Donald Trump is on his luxury airplane, she's the one sitting next to him.

Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot in behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as the Donald himself,” National Review’s cover story out Friday reads.

RNC spokesperson Sean Spicer confirmed that National Review will no longer be participating in next month's GOP debate.

Trump says that the GOP is beginning to accept him. "I have received so many phone calls from people that you would call 'establishment,' from people generally speaking, conservative Republicans that want to come in our team,” Trump added.

And he may be right, as National Review publisher Jack Fowler wrote Thursday that his publication was being stripped of its hosting duties for a GOP debate with CNN in late February.

I think the National Review is staying in the Ideologies of the previous election. The 2016 election time, the Republicans want a different type of Leadership that can "Make America Great Again."

Silent...?*

weight-stereotyping-w724

One in every four adults have high blood pressure. But many people are unaware that they have the condition. Untreated hypertension increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. These are the first and third commonest causes of death in the USA.

Hypertension can also damage the kidneys and increase the risk of blindness and dementia. That is why hypertension is referred to as a "silent killer."

High blood pressure interacts with other major risk factors such as diabetes and high levels of cholesterol to amplify the risk of heart attack and stroke. Changes in lifestyle can therefore help us achieve blood pressure goals.
Several factors may play a role in its development, including:

      • Too much salt in the diet
      • Smoking
      • Being overweight or obese
      • Lack of physical activity
      • Too much alcohol consumption (more than 1 to 2 drinks per day)
      • Stress
      • Genetics
      • Family history of high blood pressure
      • Chronic kidney Disease.
So avoid a long life of sickness.

Snowboarder Christian Mares survived what few ski resort guests ever imagine having to face, when he was nearly swallowed up by tons of fast moving snow. Now he's facing an avalanche of criticism and potential prosecution for what officials are calling his "reckless decision."
Mares triggered the avalanche at a popular ski destination just northwest of Lake Tahoe.

Resort officials say Mares was riding in a closed area of the mountain that was off limits, and the avalanche put other skiers at risk. "Those closed signs are there for a reason."

The resort had the disappearance of 23-year-old ski instructor Carson May a week earlier. Rescue crews were unable to locate May at the time.

There are no official charges against Mares and the investigation is now in the hands of the Placer County Sheriff's Department for trespassing into a closed area of a ski resort.

Lichtman, a distinguished professor of history at American University, is one of them. Lichtman first came to attention in May when he told The Fix's Peter Stevenson that his model  based on a set of 13 true/false statements predicted a Trump victory.

It was a model that had successfully predicted the winner of the presidential race in every election since 1984. In October ,amid dire poll numbers for Trump, he doubled down, insisting that he trusted in the model. And he was right.

Thousands attended the Women's March on Washington Saturday. Activist, Gloria Steinem took to the stage to rally the crowd.

With the timing and sheer number of people involved, it comes as little surprise that there are various causes attached to the march, which was largely billed as a demonstration in support of women's rights and civil rights but for many has clear political undertones connected to the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Some of the homemade signs at the rally were related to Hillary Clinton, Trump's campaign rival. One read "Still With Her" using a play on Clinton's campaign slogan, and another read "Lock Him Up," playing on a chant that some Trump supporters directed at Clinton during the campaign. Several "Stronger Together" posters from the Clinton campaign were spotted as well.

    Surprise, PETA! Sex doesn't sell

It’s a conventionally accepted notion that any attention is good attention, and that brazen tactics are justified if they’re in the name of a good cause. But new research says that may not be true.

Aside from all the other negative effects of unrealistic, oversexualized advertising, it is just ineffective when you’re “selling ethics.”

Two new University of Queensland studies on “Using Sexualized Images of Women” have found that when subjects view sexy PETA ads, “Intentions to support the ethical organization were reduced for those exposed to the sexualized advertising” and “that behaviors helpful to the ethical cause diminished after viewing the sexualized advertisements.” In one of the studies, researchers found that men who viewed the ads were likely to report (shocker), but that they were no likelier to support the cause itself.

The lead researcher on both studies, says, ”There’s a negative link between dehumanization and the treatment of others, it reduces concern … If you are using images that are dehumanizing, it’s likely to backfire.” So, bikini girls making out with vegetables doesn’t end slaughterhouse abuse?

Marcus Sanford Patmon, 45, of Miami, was arrested outside a Starbucks in Arlington, Virginia, after a police license plate reader indicated that his parked vehicle had been reported as stolen.

A police spokeswoman, told NBC Washington that Patmon "wanted to meet with Eric Holder" because "he was looking to be pardoned by the Obama administration before the Trump administration came in."

According to the FBI, Patmon pleaded guilty in 2009 to attempted wire fraud and interstate transportation of stolen property for trafficking in two stolen Pablo Picasso etchings and a stolen Marc Chagall lithograph  together worth well more than a half-million dollars.

California art dealer, to whom Patmon tried to sell the Picassos, smelled something fishy and contacted authorities, and the FBI soon had an undercover agent on the case.

When authorities searched Patmon's Miami home, they found one of the Picassos, a 1957 etching of a woman reading a book called "Jacqueline Lisant," hidden behind the sofa. Patmon later confessed, according to an FBI affidavit. He served 2 years.

One problem (besides the stolen car): Eric Holder is no longer the attorney general.
