Pain...*

New guidelines recommend patients with back pain try exercise, yoga, or massage before drug therapies.

Most of us suffer back pain at some point in our lives.  New guidelines from the American College of Physicians say try exercise, yoga, or massage first.

The type of acute pain we're talking about is your "garden variety back pain you might get after shoveling a little too much or over-exercising,"

The new guidelines suggest techniques to speed up the healing process, including heat wraps, massage, acupuncture and spinal manipulation which can "relax the muscles, joints, and tendons so people can be relieved of their low back pain sooner, rather than later."

Other options that can help include exercise, "mind-body" therapies like yoga, tai chi, mindfulness-based stress reduction and guided relaxation techniques.
For patients with chronic pain who just aren't responding to these non-drug therapies, the guidelines recommend medication to reduce inflammation such as ibuprofen.

Weight loss and exercises are key and should be practiced way before you reach this point.

Rome's mayor is considering a "red light" district to shield prostitutes from exploitation. Prostitution is legal in Italy, and its practitioners are a common sight along several streets in Rome and many other Italian cities. City officials want to designate certain streets for prostitutes.

EUR official says designated streets will help ensure prostitutes aren't put there by traffickers. Many women leave homes in Africa and Eastern Europe for Italy after promises of work like waitressing, but instead are forced into prostitution by trafficking rackets.  Exploitation of prostitution is illegal.

The city would provide psychological support and health care to prostitutes on the designated streets. Clients of prostitutes working on non-designated streets would risk fines.
Paolo Lampariello said there are so many prostitutes on the streets that "women can't enter their homes without being mistaken for prostitutes. That is a compliment to the pro. as they look more wife-y type.  Just a thought.

An engineer, Szuhsiung "Allen" Ho, working as an operative for the Chinese government in a bid to use American know-how to beef up China's nuclear program pleaded guilty in the first-of-its-kind prosecution in the nation.

Ho, his firm Energy Technology International, and Chinese nuclear power plant China General Nuclear Power were indicted in an alleged plot to lure nuclear experts in the United States into providing information to allow China to develop and produce nuclear material based on American technology and below the radar of the U.S. government.

Tennessee Valley Authority Office of the Inspector General, contacted the FBI with concerns about one of TVA's senior executives, engineer Ching Huey, who later admitted that Ho, and by extension the Chinese government, paid him to supply information about nuclear power production.  Huey agreed to cooperate in the probe and has since struck a plea deal.

Ho is a Taiwan native who became a naturalized U.S. citizen
It is not Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Pakistan. It is China.   Just a thought.

Alleged Spy, Anna Chapman.

Someone has figured out how to hide spying software deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers, providing the means to eavesdrop on the majority of the world's computers.

It was part of a cluster of spying programs discovered by Kaspersky Lab, the Moscow-based security software maker that has exposed a series of Western cyber-espionage operations.
The targets included government, military, telecommunication, banks, energy, nuclear researchers, media, and Islamic activists, Kaspersky said.

The firm said it was closely linked to Stuxnet,  attacked Iran's uranium enrichment facility. The NSA is the agency responsible for gathering electronic intelligence on behalf of the United States.

Disk drive firmware is viewed by spies and cybersecurity experts as the second-most valuable real estate on a PC for a hacker, second only to the BIOS code invoked automatically as a computer boots up.

It seems that this is Bill Clinton time again on someone else's watch.

Good Horse...

Image result for drunken man riding a horse in california highway

Authorities say a man accused of riding a horse on a freeway in Southern California was arrested for driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol says Luis Perez of Placentia had a blood-alcohol level of more than double the legal limit when they allege he took his horse on the 91 Freeway.
Officers say the 29-year-old hoofed it into Bellflower where they arrested him.
Perez, according to police, failed a field sobriety test and was booked into jail.
The horse was unharmed, but the rider is something else....

Janus...

the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
The issue known as fair-share fees, in which workers who are covered by union-negotiated contracts have to pay a portion of the union dues, even if they are not members. These funds used to cover the costs of negotiating and enforcing a union contract. Unions say that such fees help prevent the “free rider” issue, where workers reap benefits of a unionized workplace without paying for it.
In 2015, Mark Janus, who worked at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, sued his local union, arguing that paying fair-share fees curtailed his freedom of speech.  “The union voice is not my voice, the union's fight is not my fight. But a piece of my paycheck every week still goes to the union.”
As of last year, 28 states have passed legislation known as right-to-work laws, under which workers cannot be required to pay such fees. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of Janus, as it is expected to, an estimated 5 million workers in the other 22 states would be able to opt out of paying fair-share dues. That’s revenue that labor unions cannot afford to lose.
This has nothing to do with the voice or the vote, you get paid due to someone's else money spent and cost. Someone has to pay for these benefits.   Shameful attempt.

Pao suggests that she has evidence to prove a litany of awkward sexual overtures made toward her by colleagues, as well as of deafening silence by management.

KPCB, says Pao created her own drama wherever she went.
With a B.S. from Princeton, a degree from Harvard Business School, and a law degree, Ellen Pao was a perfect fit for Kleiner Perkins when she arrived in 2005.

Pao's complaint of awkward interactions with her male peers and superiors starting in 2006. A fellow Junior Partner Ajit Nazre, “made inappropriate sexual approaches” , which Pao rebuffed. Nazre was married.

Pao admits having sex with Nazre "two or three times" but then told him “she would no longer have a personal relationship with him.” Pao alleges, Nazre began excluding her from meetings, failing to communicate information crucial to her job, and at one point asked the CEO of a company working with Pao to join the board of a company sponsored by Nazre.
Nazre was soon after made a senior partner in Kleiner Perkins' Greentech group, but because of their unworkable relationship, Pao alleges that the company asked her to move her office down the hall from Nazre's new, larger office. She refused, and KPCB then asked her to relocate to the company's China office. Pao refused again.
Ellen Pao was making $560,000 a year.   Part One.

Image result for trusting the media is low cartoon

Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media "to report the news fully, accurately and fairly" has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media.

Over the history of the entire trend, Americans' trust and confidence hit its highest point in 1976, at 72%, with investigative journalism regarding Vietnam and the Watergate scandal.

After staying in the low to mid-50s through the late 1990s, Americans' trust in the media has fallen slowly and steadily.

Republicans who say they have trust in the media has plummeted to 14% from 32% a year ago. This is easily the lowest confidence among Republicans in 20 years.  It is also possible that Republicans think less of the media as a result of Trump's sharp criticisms of the press.

As the communication expanded greatly since the Nineties, the Trust in the Media has deteriorated drastically.  It is a Negative Correlation.   Just a thought.

A Marjory Stoneman Douglas school resource officer has been suspended without pay after Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said video shows him taking up a defensive position during the shooting but never entering the school.

Peterson was armed and on campus during the shooting.

Peterson completed multiple training programs as well, including a mandatory firearms training program and special tactical problems training program.

Two other deputies were placed on restricted duty while the sheriff's office investigates whether they "could've" or "should've" done more while dealing with suspect, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, amid the 23 calls they received involving Cruz or his brother since 2008.

We should review previous mass shooting, we may find similarities. Just a thought.

North Carolina high school student accused of "catfishing" a teacher and circulating his nude photo has been found not guilty.
News outlets report the 16-year-old girl was acquitted on the charge of misdemeanor disclosure of private images. The case of a 16-year-old boy charged with the same offense is pending.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Office said the Swansboro High School students obtained the teacher's picture after misrepresenting themselves on Grindr, a gay dating app. According to testimony, the girl forwarded the picture to the boy, who shared it with five friends.
The girl's attorney said the state didn't prove she intended to humiliate the man, who he says didn't have a reasonable expectation of privacy after sending images to a stranger. The judge based his ruling on similar points.

Gates knowingly lied when he told the special counsel that Manafort, after a March 2013 meeting with a lobbyist and a member of Congress, had said that Ukraine had not been mentioned in the meeting.

Not only was that statement never made but Gates himself helped prepare a report describing the discussions on Ukraine that had taken place at that meeting.
Gates also pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the U.S. by making false statements regarding his status as a foreign agent, a charge initially proffered in the first indictment from Oct. 27, 2017.
Gates could face nearly six years in prison. But the special counsel could petition the court to reduce his sentencing time, Reuters reported, based on his cooperation with investigators.
Gates, 45, had initially pleaded not guilty to charges including money laundering and misleading investigators. A second indictment from the special counsel piled 32 new counts on Gates and Manafort, including bank fraud.
In a statement following Gates' change of plea, Manafort said, "I continue to maintain my innocence."

Screenwriter Graham Moore has won the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay, defeating newcomers and Oscar veterans alike with his first produced screenplayThe Imitation Game tells the story of Alan Turing, the father of modern computing, who cracked impossible German codes in World War II and helped end the war.

He used the win to give a powerful speech about suicide awareness and depression.

"I tried to commit suicide at 16 and now I'm standing here," he said. "I would like for this moment to be for that kid out there who feels like she doesn’t fit in anywhere. You do. Stay weird. Stay different, and then when it's your turn and you are standing on this stage please pass the same message along."

Lose Weight...*

Image result for lose weight

Losing weight is a matter of simple math. To drop pounds, you need to eat fewer calories than you burn. There’s no way around that.  Here is a suggestion
Eggs or Egg White: A protein-rich breakfast may help you resist snack attacks throughout the day. The effect of the high-protein breakfast seemed to last into the evening.
Legumes: (Beans, lentil, Peas, and Peanuts) are cheap, filling, versatile, and a great source of protein, fibers, and other nutrients. They are slow to digest.
High fiber Cereals and whole wheat bread are most filling choice.
A healthy snack on the run, choose a small handful of almonds, peanuts, walnuts, or pecans.
Fruit and Vegetables: keeping an apple or some grape tomatoes with you when you're on the go will help greatly.
Small food portions are recommended.
So start adding these items to your diet, (check with your doctor) will help you lose weight. Other information to follow.   Just a thought.

Counterfeit...*

[ABC- Eamon McNieff shorted ]

Boxes of illegal and counterfeit medicine like Amoxicillin, vitamin shots for b12 deficiency; Terramyacin, an antibiotic for eye infections, Ampicilin for ear infections,

Viagra, heart medication, morphine and other injectable were confiscated.

There are numerous small storefronts with names like Canada Drugs or Canada Direct, advertising inexpensive drugs, but there are questions over whether the medicines being sold are pure, or even from Canada.

Authorities say customers are drawn to these unlicensed sellers because of price.

Do Canada, Australia and the EU Countries have the same counterfeit problem?

Can we further research this issue and report the solution?

This is the scam of the century. Prices of medications are sky rocketing, the market is vulnerable for all sort of abuse, and politicians are busy with other things.
Just a thought.
