Shale...

Chesapeake Energy—which helped propel the shale gas revolution in the late 2000s with leading positions in shale basins—is now facing tough times trying to heal its balance sheet, on which US$9.7 billion in total debt weighs.

Chesapeake Energy has to focus on generating free cash flow and successfully manage the debt they had taken on to boost production instead of profits. Squeezed between the scarce availability of capital from debt and equity markets and investors demanding more profits, many U.S. oil and gas firms are reducing capital expenditure plans for 2020.

In this challenging environment, aggravated by low commodity prices, Chesapeake Energy warned in early November that “If continued depressed prices persist, combined with the scheduled reductions in the leverage ratio covenant, our ability to comply with the leverage ratio covenant during the next 12 months will be adversely affected which raises substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern.”

Image result for bear is afraid of a tiger

For five days, workers at a Florida wildlife facility watched anxiously as a bear remained stuck in a tree, hanging precariously over a tiger enclosure.
A caretaker at Florida C.A.R.E. Foundation first discovered the 50-pound (23-kilogram) bear Saturday. The bear appeared to be terrified by the 300-pound (135-kilogram) and 400-pound (180-kilogram) cats below, unaware they were in cages.
On Wednesday, workers tried to help the bear by moving the tigers to another location. The cub descended several branches but was still in the tree Wednesday night.

When the workers returned the next morning, the bear was gone. Foundation director called it a Thanksgiving miracle, saying the animal seemed exhausted.

Concocted...

Image result for sondland cartoon

Gordon Sondland, the Trump-appointed European Union ambassador at the center of the House impeachment inquiry, is facing accusations that he forcibly kissed and exposed himself in front of three women over a decade ago.

In a report published by ProPublica and Portland Monthly, the women alleged in specific detail how Sondland made unwanted sexual advances. All three alleged victims also say Sondland retaliated against them professionally after they rebuffed him.

Sondland vehemently denied the accusations, calling them “concocted.
"He also claimed at least one of the women, Nicole Vogel — the owner and publisher of Portland Monthly — has ulterior motives in accusing him of sexual misconduct.

Every political issue appears to go nationally , there are always  a story of sexual misconduct. And I don't think this will help any issue whatsoever.

On January 6, 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivered a speech before Congress, articulating his vision for a postwar world founded on four basic human freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
So remember those who don't have as much as you do. You have been lucky.
Happy Thanksgiving

There’s been a growing global movement to “Free the Nipple” and get society, social media and the law to treat men and women’s chests equally.
The movement has clocked up several victories; six states (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Kansas or Oklahoma) recently got rid of their bans on women being topless in public.

The movement is bigger than breasts: it’s about treating female bodies like human bodies, not sex objects. It’s about bodily autonomy.
In Utah, which has some of the most permissive firearm laws in America, you can buy a handgun without a background check. You can openly carry a handgun without a permit. You can go grocery shopping with a pistol on your hip. But god forbid anyone see a woman’s nipples.
It depends.                Just a thought.

Elizabeth Warren is free, free falling.
The 2020 Democratic primary candidate’s poll numbers have collapsed in recent weeks, inciting panicky headlines like, “What happened to Elizabeth Warren?” from newsrooms that have all but formally endorsed her campaign.
A new Quinnipiac survey of Democrats and “Democratic-leaners” released this week shows Warren in third place with 14% of support. She registers just behind South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg (16%), and front-runner Joe Biden (24%).

The latest Quinnipiac survey, which was conducted between Nov. 21 and 25 and surveyed 1,355 self-identified registered voters nationwide, shows a substantial and sudden decline in support compared to the polling group's previous surveys of self-identified Democrat and Democratic-leaning voters.
Support for Warren's White House bid has fallen off in surveys conducted by competing polling groups.

It's long been known that eating fish — especially cold-water fish such as salmon that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids — is good for heart health.
But, for the millions of Americans who are at high risk of heart disease, eating enough fish to make a difference isn't likely to be realistic for most.
There's growing evidence that taking a very high dose of purified fish oil, delivered in a prescription pill, can help prevent heart attacks and strokes among people who have elevated risks. The amount of fish oil in the daily recommended dose of the pill is the equivalent of eating about eight to 10 servings of salmon a day.
In early November, an advisory panel to the FDA voted unanimously to approve expanded use of the prescription drug, Vascepa, which is made from one type of omega-3 fatty acid, called eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA for short. The oil is extracted from sardines and anchovies, and then purified.

More than 2,000 people are expected at the Orthodox Union’s (OU) Seventh International Jewish Community Home & Job Relocation Fair that will showcase a record-breaking 63 communities from the U.S. and Israel on Sunday, Nov. 24th at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 West 18th Street in Manhattan from 12-6 p.m.
Families and individuals interested in relocating can learn about the amenities, schools, local infrastructure and potential employment opportunities of the participating communities. Special workshops will be available for first-time homebuyers and for those contemplating Aliyah, which will be facilitated by Nefesh b’Nefesh.

This program needs to include all New Yorkers, or may be need to relocate the politicians who are running the city and State to the ground with huge taxes.

Flu...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says flu season is starting to ramp up — and it's not too late to reduce your risk with a vaccine.
But scientists have come to realize that flu vaccines are less effective for people who are overweight or obese. Considering that excess weight affects more than two-thirds of the U.S. adult population, that's a significant shortcoming.

Disrupter...

Image result for bloomberg/warren cartoon

Earlier,  Bloomberg signaled he's "still looking at" running for president, but people close to him say that the only way he could even go down that path is if Biden's fortunes suffer so much that he drops out before or during the early stages of the primary.

Bloomberg could then enter the race as one of the rare moderates with enough name recognition and campaign funding to make a run.

Forbes estimates his net worth at $51 billion, and he was planning to spend over $100 million on a campaign for president if he ran.

Biden didn't drop out, but he really felt the burn. The issue of Ukraine and Hunter Biden, will occupy his time and energy all through. The Democrats Impeachment process against Trump will hurt Biden's chances much more.

While Elizabeth Warren enjoyed the weakness of Biden, then she felt the burn from Bloomberg.

No wonder the great welcoming  from Elizabeth to Mike.

Curley...

“People always say the longer it is, the sluttier it is."
Specifically, referring to the sheitels, or wigs, that married Orthodox women wear as mandated by Jewish law, so as to not entice men who aren’t their husbands.

Now a heated debate is brewing over hair that some in the community view as being too sexy.

While many are constantly battling to get the hair exactly the way they want it to look.  Most of the time, its a  fight for hours  and never seem to be satisfied

There is always that ever-looming question: to straighten it or to curl it?  Well according to men and women, curly hair is the better choice.

Choice...

Image result for bloomberg as presidential candidates cartoon

  • Michael R. Bloomberg formally entered the 2020 race, offering voters a “new choice.” His wealth is an advantage, but he also has political baggage.
  • The issues that led battleground-state polls to miss the mark in the last election could reappear next year, experts warn.
  • Already the other Democratic candidates are attacking Bloomberg for being rich. In reality, he will take over the first spot with speed.
  • He has been independent, Republican and now Democrats.
  • Again, the Democrats  want  to defeat Trump by any means. That may be a difficult task to achieve as Bloomberg may expose how the process being conducted.

The U.S. military said  it lost an unmanned drone aircraft over the Libyan capital, Tripoli, where rival armed groups have been fighting for control of the city for months.
Since 2015, Libya has been divided between two governments, one based in Tripoli and the other in the country’s east. Forces loyal to the eastern government have been trying to wrest control of the capital since April.
An Italian drone was shot down southeast of Tripoli by forces loyal to the eastern government.
In September, the U.S. military said it carried out several airstrikes against the Islamic State group in Libya, killing more than 40 militants. Those were the first U.S. strikes in the North African country in over a year.

US  wanted to take Gadhafi out and the outcome was devastation and endless civil war thanks to Hillary.  Just a thought.

Sixteen people were discovered sealed in a truck on a ferry traveling from France to Ireland, officials said Thursday.
The 16 individuals were found on a Stena Line ferry, which was traveling from Cherbourg, France, to Rosslare, Ireland, during a routine inspection and were sealed in a trailer on the vehicle deck of the ferry, according to a statement  Communications Officer Ian Hampton.
The company alerted security and immigration officials in Rosslare.
Just Wednesday it was reported that 25 other individuals were discovered in a refrigerated container on a ferry that originally embarked from the port of Vlaardingen, near Rotterdam in the Netherlands, heading to Felixstowe, a small port town in England.

A Utah woman has been charged with lewdness in her own home after her stepchildren walked into the room and saw her bare chest.

Buchanan and her husband had been installing drywall in the garage and had taken off their shirts that were itchy from the fibers, she told The Salt Lake Tribune.

When her stepchildren, aged 9, 10 and 13, walked in, she "explained she considers herself a feminist and wanted to make a point that everybody should be fine with walking around their house or elsewhere with skin showing," her lawyers wrote in court documents, The Associated Press reports.

The state has charged Buchanan with three charges of lewdness involving a child. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor.

The state's lewdness statute criminalizes exposure of "the female breast below the top of the areola" in the presence of a child in a private place "under circumstances the person should know will likely cause affront or alarm."

If convicted, Buchanan faces imprisonment, fines and the requirement to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

"It was in the privacy of my own home. My husband was right next to me in the same exact manner that I was, and he's not being prosecuted," she told reporters after the court hearing.

Passe...

Image result for high earners are leaving ny cartoon

Are you a young person thinking of moving to a happening city? Chances are New York is not even on your list of potential hotspots, and if you are already living there, then you are looking for a way out. The last dividends of 20 years of leadership under Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg are being squandered by well intentioned but increasingly radical policies.
Dragging business practices, skyrocketing taxes, telecommuting, and loss of special status is a toxic mix for New York. Among young people, New York is becoming passe. During recent years, both the city and the state of New York have lost residents, as waves of educated and high earning millennials have fled. In fact, more than 46 percent of New Yorkers of all ages moving out of the state are in the bracket earning above $150,000.
The Empire State budget is in near freefall, in no small part due to lower revenue from middle class and upper class workers, while growing states like Texas and Florida are in surplus. Governor Andrew Cuomo noted a $2.3 billion hole in the state budget earlier this year, caused largely by oppressive policies that have gutted the local population and economy. More than 450,000 people moved out of New York in the last year alone.

Priorities...

Image result for impeachment cartoon
Those who are enjoying a recent surge of support tend to find themselves targets of the rest of the pack during the debate. Biden, for example, was the target in the June 27 debate in Miami, as Harris challenged him on his record in race. His numbers in polls dropped after that, while hers increased – but the impact was not lasting, and Harris is now polling in single digits.

After Warren surged to the top of a poll in Iowa, site of the first caucuses, several candidates went after her for her plan for "Medicare for All" during the Oct. 15 debate in Westerville, saying it was too expensive and could result in higher taxes for the middle class. Pointed criticisms from Klobuchar gave the Minnesota lawmaker a small bump in polling after the debate – an improvement that mostly just helped her qualify for Wednesday's debate.
Buttigieg, who has now led polling in two recent surveys in Iowa – including a Des Moines Register/CNN poll that has him with 25% support, 9 percentage points ahead of Warren, his closest competitor there – is likely to get his turn as a target on Wednesday, as competitors seek to weaken his status in an important early state.
The last debate was watched by 8.3 Millions, in Westerville, Ohio, but  13 Millions  turned in to watch the first day of impeachment inquiry hearings.

Sondland...

During the 2016 United States presidential election, Sondland initially supported Donald Trump, but cancelled a fundraiser and repudiated Trump for his attacks on Khizr and Ghazala Khan.[2] In April 2017, it was revealed that 4 companies registered to Sondland donated $1 million to the Donald Trump inaugural committee.

On March 12, 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump selected Sondland to be the next United States ambassador to the European Union.[29][30] On May 10, 2018, the White House announced that Sondland's nomination had been sent to the U.S. Senate.[31] He was confirmed by the Senate on June 28, 2018.[3] On July 9, 2018, Sondland presented his credentials at the European Commission and to President of the European Council Donald Tusk.[32]
Sondland's nomination received bipartisan support during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on June 21, 2018.[4] Both Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) testified in support of Sondland.[33] Sen. Wyden suggested that Sondland’s "family history is both fascinating and instructive as to why he has the experience and understanding to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the E.U.," noting how his Jewish parents fled Nazi Germany before coming to the United States.
