On Monday, progressive Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar's residence was raided by federal agents.

While all sorts of speculation has circulated about why Omar was raided (there is a separate financial investigation into Omar, as well), rumors in circulation almost uniformly returned to one major theory: her immigration status.

According to emails obtained and reviewed by the outlet, Omar's staff allegedly changed the congresswoman's birthdate in public records.

These alterations apparently came after Omar was elected to Congress in 2018.

And the New York Post lays out plainly why this is such a big deal: "If the congresswoman is actually one year older than she’s claimed to be, that would mean she couldn’t have legally become a U.S. citizen in 2000, critics contend."

Omar's birthdate has long been publicly listed as Oct. 4, 1981.

However, according to the emails obtained by the New York Post, it appears that in May 2019, the above date was shifted forward by one year, to 1982.

That time frame is significant, as Omar had had her age questioned by a political opponent, AJ Kern, who, the post reported, "came in a distant fourth against Omar in the 2022 House Democratic primary for Minnesota’s Fifth District."

Just a thought.

Greening..

Jeff Bezos is putting $100 million into neglected urban land across eight American cities, funding plans to turn vacant plots, former industrial sites and unused spaces into public parks and wildlife habitats. As reported by Bezos Earth Fund, announced on 7 July 2026, the investment will support projects ranging from the restoration of 600 vacant properties in Cleveland to a new park on a former motorway ramp in Little Rock.

Other plans include planting trees along a popular Salt Lake City trail, restoring wetlands in Indianapolis and expanding green space around Los Angeles’ historic Watts Towers. The projects are designed to improve access to nature while giving overlooked land a new purpose.

The projects differ in scale and purpose. Some focus on bringing shade and play areas to neighborhoods with limited access to green space.

Others involve restoring wetlands, creating new walking routes or turning vacant properties into small natural areas scattered throughout residential districts. Native plants and trees will feature across the programmed, alongside facilities for recreation and community activities

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot 28-year-old Oscar Belgal in the neck during a targeted enforcement operation in the Marble Hill neighborhood of New York City.

Plainclothes ICE agents attempted to pull over and block Belgal's vehicle. Federal officials claim Belgal weaponized his car and tried to drive toward or ram agents, while city officials and defense attorneys dispute the account. An agent fired seven rounds into the car, hitting Belgal below his left ear.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that Belgal is a Dominican national with prior criminal history, and that officers discharged their weapons during a lawful enforcement attempt.

So many politicians, currently, are dipping into this theory.  Everyone wants to win regardless. The talk is attractive to many who things that now I am going to get something for free, however this theory when it comes to action will not be as glamor as we talked about it.

So this theory calls for some to expect the freebees and no need to struggle, to study, to work hard, to improve oneself or to build your life. You think you will get something from the wealthy.

Better ask some people who lived it in the past, got nothing and immigrated to the US to improve build their lives.  Just a thought.

Buffer..

Financial data consistently shows that higher income and net worth are correlated with lower divorce rates.

Across sociological and economic studies, financial strain acts as a massive destabilizer for marriages, while financial stability serves as a protective buffer.
A comprehensive study published in Demography found that wealthier couples have a significantly lower risk of divorce, and this protective effect is steepest when moving out of low positive net worth ($0 to $40,000 range).
Owning visible, physical assets—such as a home or vehicles—is strongly linked to a lower risk of divorce, regardless of total net worth.
Wealthy couples not only experience less daily stress over bills, but they also have greater access to resources like marriage counseling.
Furthermore, the high cost and sheer complexity of dividing large asset portfolios (real estate, investments, businesses) act as a strong financial incentive to work through marital issues.
Roughly 75% of all divorces occur in households with an income under $100,000. Conversely, only about 11% of divorces happen among couples earning above $150,000.
