Loose..

Jane Eugene, the lead singer of the chart-topping1980sBritish R&B group Loose Ends, is currently facing deportation proceedings after being detained by U.S. immigration authorities for overstaying her visa by more than two decades.

The 62-year-old performer was arrested two months ago by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents after attempting to cross into Canada at the Niagara Falls border.

Comment:

Apparently, no one is above the law.

Briefly..

A federal judge on Friday briefly halted deportations of eight immigrants to war-torn South Sudan, sending the case to another judge, in Boston, the day after the Supreme Court greenlighted their removal.

The administration has been trying to deport the immigrants for weeks. None are from South Sudan, which is enmeshed in civil war and where the U.S government advises no one should travel before making their own funeral arrangements.

The government flew them to the U.S. Naval Base at Djibouti but couldn’t move them further because Murphy had ruled no immigrant could be sent to a new country without a chance to have a court hearing.

Comment:
It is better to follow the law and travel to your own country instead.  Just a thought.

Firing..

Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kristi Noem said that she is exploring ways to fire employees who "don't like us" or "don't support what we are doing," raising alarms about potential political retaliation.

Noem's rhetoric reflects a broader push by the Trump administration to reassert political control over DHS operations.

Over the past few months, officials have requested that employees working on legal immigration processes volunteer to assist with deportation activities, per CBS News.

Sense .

Eric Johnson, the Democrat-turned-Republican mayor of Dallas, declared on Thursday that the Texan city is now a refuge from socialist policies after New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani won New York City's Democratic mayoral primary.
Johnson described Dallas as the nation's first "sanctuary city from socialism" in a message seemingly directed toward New Yorkers.
"If your city is (or is about to be) a sanctuary for criminals, mayhem, job-killing regulations, and failed socialist experiments, I have a modest invitation for you: MOVE TO DALLAS," he posted on X.
"We value free enterprise, law and order, and our first responders," Johnson continued. "Common sense and the American Dream still reside here.
We have all your big-city comforts and conveniences without the suffocating vice grip of government bureaucrats."

Act..

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., forced a name change for President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" moments before the legislative package passed the upper chamber of Congress.

Schumer argued the title of the bill violated Section 313 B1A of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, or what's commonly referred to as the "Byrd Rule."

This is not a ‘big, beautiful bill’ at all. That's why I moved down the floor to strike the title. It is now called ‘the act.’ That's what it's called. But it is really the ‘big ugly betrayal,’ and the American people know it," Schumer said.

Comment:
When the Dems lost power, it was a self-imposed defeat.
Inflation, open borders, high crimes, defunding the police calls, higher prices of food, fueling the war of the Ukraine and Russia, unknown driver in the White House, etc.
Now the Dems are trying something relevant, may be. Just a thought.

Wonder..

Integrity..

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem today announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Haiti. The TPS designation for the country expires on Aug. 3, 2025, and the termination will be effective on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

At least 60 days before a TPS designation expires, the Secretary, after consultation with appropriate U.S. government agencies, is required to review the conditions in a country designated for TPS to determine whether the conditions supporting the designation continue to be met, and if so, how long to extend the designation.

“This decision restores integrity in our immigration system and ensures that Temporary Protective Status is actually temporary,” said a DHS spokesperson. “The environmental situation in Haiti has improved enough that it is safe for Haitian citizens to return home. We encourage these individuals to take advantage of the Department’s resources in returning to Haiti, which can be arranged through the CBP Home app. Haitian nationals may pursue lawful status through other immigration benefit requests, if eligible.”

After conferring with interagency partners, Secretary Noem determined that conditions in Haiti no longer meet the TPS statutory requirements.

Panic..

Senator Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent who caucuses with the Democratic Party, warned that establishment lawmakers are "in panic" over Assemblyman and New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's primary win on Tuesday.

Mamdani's triumph, built on promises like free city bus rides, free childcare, and city-owned grocery stores, has magnified internal rifts within the Democratic Party.

The assemblyman's win could trigger panic buttons for senators like Chuck Schumer of New York and other Democratic establishment leaders alike, as some pollsters argue that Ocasio-Cortez could potentially challenge Schumer's Senate seat.   Just a thought.

Who is..

Representative Laura Gillen represents a competitive Long Island district in the House and has been among the more critical Democratic voices on Mamdani. In a statement, she described him as the "absolute wrong choice for New York.  Socialist Zohran Mamdani is too extreme to lead New York City.

His entire campaign has been built on unachievable promises and higher taxes, which is the last thing New York needs," she wrote.

"Beyond that, Mr. Mamdani has called to defund the police and has demonstrated a deeply disturbing pattern of unacceptable antisemitic comments which stoke hate at a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing."

Comment:

Does Mamdani represents the Democratic Party? is he looking to improve New York Economy or looking to see business and people fleeing the area.   Just a thought.

Over-Blown .
