Drill..
About 20 military ships - half from China and half from Taiwan - are involved in a stand-off near the Taiwan Strait's sensitive median line, according to Reuters.
It comes as China says its military has carried out simulated precision strikes on "key targets on the island and the surrounding sea areas" during a second day of drills, and Taiwan reported multiple air force sorties by Beijing.
The mock air and sea attacks were on "foreign military targets" in waters off Taiwan's southwest coast.
"Taiwan is not their only target," said the unnamed source who was familiar with the situation. "It's very provocative."
The drills have not been as big as those that followed Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taipei last August.

A trove of secret Pentagon documents that were exposed on social media have shed new light on the state of the war in Ukraine, showing just how deeply the United States has penetrated Russia’s military and intelligence services, and revealing that Washington has been spying on some of its closest allies as well its adversaries.
The leaked documents provide a grim assessment of the strength of Moscow’s war machine, and the Ukrainian military is in dire straits, too.
The intelligence reports show that the United States appears to be spying on Ukraine’s military and political leaders, as well as other important American allies, including Israel and South Korea.
The leaked documents have already complicated relations with allied countries, raising doubts about the United States’ ability to keep its secrets.
Is this the "fighting for Democracy" that the politicians keep talking about?

Two of Europe's top political heavyweights held talks with China's President Xi Jinping last week.
After a grand military ceremony and bilateral and trilateral talks, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Xi to "bring back Russia to reason."
He said China could also help bring Moscow, with which Beijing maintains friendly relations, back to the negotiating table more than a year after the Kremlin launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who is also in Beijing for talks with Xi, said in a news conference, "As a member of the U.N. Security Council there is a big responsibility – we expect China will play its role and promote a just peace, one that respects Ukraine's sovereign and territorial integrity, one of the cornerstones of the U.N. charter."
Xi said all countries should respect commitments on not using nuclear weapons and "refrain from any action that would lead to further deterioration of the crisis or even to it getting out of contro."
On the other hand, ... What is the USA position..?..
