Understand..

Principle..

The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to "a level of respective incompetence": employees are promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another.

The Peter Principle (William Morrow and Company) by Laurence Peter and Raymond Hull.[3] Hull wrote the text, which was based on Peter's research. Peter and Hull intended the book to be satire,[4] but it became popular as it was seen to make a serious point about the shortcomings of how people are promoted within hierarchical organizations.

The Peter principle has since been the subject of much commentary and research.

A medical expert has revealed how individuals can reduce their cholesterol levels without relying on statins.

Dr Roberto Lobelo, a cardiac specialist, emphasized the importance of regular exercise and noted: "The AHA (American Heart Association) recommends that all adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise, or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise, per week. That can include walking, swimming, lifting weights, dancing or whatever else you enjoy and can do without injury."

Diet is equally crucial, with specialists advocating for the portfolio diet detailed by Andrea Glenn, a nutrition researcher at New York University, to include "soy products like tofu and other plant-based proteins like beans, lentils and chickpeas; viscous-fibre-containing foods like oats, barley, psyllium husk, berries, apples and citrus fruits; nuts and seeds; avocado; and healthy plant-based oils like canola oil and olive oil." This regime has been shown to significantly decrease cholesterol.

War..

French President Emmanuel Macron says his country will provide a “massive” 100-million-euro ($108 million) aid package to support Lebanon .

Massive aid is needed for the Lebanese population, both for the hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the war and for the communities hosting them,” Macron said at an international conference on Thursday in Paris.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese military said Thursday an Israeli strike killed three of its troops, including an officer, as they were evacuating wounded people in southern Lebanon.

So the people of Gaza are displaced, and Gaza is destroyed, then Northern Israel population are displaced, then Lebanon are bombed by Israel and resident fled, etc...

War and War and more war. God help us all.

Statin..

In a recent study conducted by researchers from Hong Kong, evidence has emerged suggesting that your cholesterol medication could help to prevent Alzheimer's disease. The researchers found that statins, a commonly used medication to lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease, may have a significant impact on reducing the risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia. The study sheds light on the potential neuroprotective effects of statins and their role in slowing down the progression of neurodegenerative diseases.

Researchers from the University of Hong Kong conducted a study analyzing data from over 104,000 individuals with heart failure. The study focused on the use of statins and its association with dementia risk, including Alzheimer's disease.

The results of the study revealed a compelling link between statin use and a reduced risk of dementia. Individuals using statins had a 20% lower risk of incident dementia compared to non-users. Specifically, statin use was associated with a 28% lower risk of Alzheimer's disease, highlighting the potential of statins in mitigating the progression of this debilitating condition. These findings underscore the significance of exploring alternative treatment avenues for Alzheimer's disease.

Mute..

The U.S. military has struck Houthi weapons storage facilities within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, U.S. officials told ABC News.

"U.S. Central Command forces conducted multiple airstrikes on numerous Iran-backed Houthi weapons storage facilities within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen," a U.S. defense official said.

The defense official said the weapons were used to "target military and civilian vessels navigating international waters throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden."

What was the outcome of the one year US bombing of the country of Yemen?

Just a thought.

Motive..

Federal prosecutors improperly charged a Jan. 6 defendant with obstruction, the Supreme Court ruled on Friday, a decision that will likely upend many cases against rioters who disrupted the certification of the 2020 presidential election and one which Donald Trump’s legal team may use to try to whittle down one of his criminal cases.

After the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, federal prosecutors charged more than 350 participants among the pro-Trump mob with obstructing or impeding an official proceeding.

The charge carries a 20-year maximum penalty and is part of a law enacted after the exposure of massive fraud and shredding of documents during the collapse of the energy giant Enron.

Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said prosecutors’ overly broad reading of the statute gives them too much discretion to seek a 20-year maximum sentence “for acts Congress saw fit to punish only with far shorter terms of imprisonment.”
Just a thought.
