Chuckles..

A growing number of therapists advocate using humor and laughter to help clients build trust and improve work environments.

A review of five different studies found that measures of well-being did increase after laughter interventions.

Sometimes called homeplay instead of homework, these interventions take the form of daily humor activities — surrounding yourself with funny people, watching a comedy that makes you laugh or writing down three funny things that happened today.

You can practice laughing even when alone. Intentionally take a perspective that appreciates the funny side of events. Laughing yoga is a technique of using breathing muscles to achieve the positive physical responses of natural laughing.

Laughter creates bonds and increases intimacy with others. Linguist Don Nilsen points out that chuckles and belly laughs seldom happen when alone

Just a "Chuckle" thought.

Vegan..

New research has investigated whether a vegan diet with protein sourced from non-animal products could support muscle growth and repair as effectively as a diet that includes animal protein during strength training.

During the study, researchers found that exercising the legs increased the rate of muscle protein production by about 12% compared to when the legs were at rest.

Both groups gained a similar amount of muscle mass and muscle fiber size, as well as increased muscle strength in various muscle groups, despite having different protein sources in their diets.

Stephanie Wells, a registered dietitian, said, “this paper adds to the growing body of evidence for the ability of some plant-based proteins to support muscle building as effectively as animal proteins like whey.” Just a thought.

Pastrami..

In a bid to make prosecutors more accountable for their actions, Chief Judge Sol Wachtler has proposed that the state scrap the grand jury system of bringing criminal indictments.

Wachtler, who became the state’s top judge, said district attorneys now have so much influence on grand juries that “by and large” they could get them to “indict a ham sandwich.”

The New York Times noted that Wachtler believed grand juries “operate more often as the prosecutor’s pawn than the citizen’s shield.” That belief that prosecutors can get grand juries to do whatever they want them to do.

The Jewish judge “said he regrets that he didn’t say ‘pastrami’ sandwich, adding that he may (surely) have been misquoted about ‘ham. Just a thought.

Hunt..

Like many other countries, political opponents are .....targeted, prosecuted, for a reason.

Investigated for years, called Russian Assets, impeached twice- the second time a week before leaving the office. Just keep this guy out of the office.

Prosecuting this former President is a bad thing for the party in charge.

Just a thought.

Militarism..

The prevalence of domestic gun violence disproportionately impacts veterans. Since 2001, 114,000 US veterans have died by gun suicide, a result of militarism and its impact on veteran health and American gun culture.
Direct involvement in war zones is highly correlated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental illnesses in veterans, all of which are exacerbated by the military’s hegemonic masculine culture
The military creates and relies on a culture that emphasizes toughness, a moral responsibility to serve, prioritization of the unit and mission over personal needs, and taking the blame for actions and consequences over which individual members have no control. These values are so ingrained in military members that they often avoid seeking mental health care
Taking a break to get mental health care is at odds with the military’s expectation of perseverance and selflessness at all costs. Active members of the military and veterans who are indoctrinated with these values often do not receive needed mental health care because seeking such care is perceived as a weakness. This lack of treatment worsens veterans’ risk of suicide. Just a thoght.

Exciting..
