Smooth...
Vascular smooth muscle is under the influence of local (metabolic, autoregulatory and endothelial), reflex (autonomic nervous system), and hormonal (norepinephrine, epinephrine, angiotensin, and vasopressin) regulatory mechanisms.
At the onset of exercise, skeletal muscle fiber activation sets in motion a series of biochemical events that increase metabolic demand and produce cellular metabolites (adenosine} .
These metabolites have their greatest influence on vascular smooth muscle of the smallest terminal arterioles and cause relaxation. The relaxation/dilation of the terminal arteriole reduces the perfusion pressure on the upstream arterioles and the vessels relax (autoregulation) in response.
Autoregulation increases blood flow which stimulates the release of endothelial derived relaxing factors. These events mediate a cascade, or 'migrating upstream vasodilation'. This vasodilation increases blood now to working muscles and improves oxygen supply. As exercise continues, an increased sympathetic nervous system activity and vasoactive hormones modulate vasodilation of vascular smooth muscle.
Thus, during exercise, vascular smooth muscle is regulated by several mechanisms that are designed to redistribute cardiac output and assure adequate tissue blood flow while maintaining arterial blood pressure.

The 673,676-person Israeli study found that people who recovered from prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and remained unvaccinated were 27 times less likely to experience symptomatic reinfection from the Delta variant when compared to those who had not been infected and received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
The study also found that previously infected people who received a single dose of the vaccine received additional protection against the Delta variant.
In a smaller study conducted by Washington University School of Medicine and published in Nature, senior author Ali Ellebedy, PhD, an associate professor of medicine and of molecular microbiology, found antibody-producing cells in the bone marrow of 15 of 19 study subjects 11 months after their first COVID-19 symptoms. "These cells will live and produce antibodies for the rest of people’s lives.
That’s strong evidence for long-lasting immunity. Just a thought.

Billions more in profits are at stake for some vaccine makers as the U.S. moves toward dispensing COVID-19 booster shots to shore up Americans’ protection against the virus.
U.S. health officials late endorsed booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine for all Americans 65 and older along with tens of millions of younger people who are at higher risk from the coronavirus because of health conditions or their jobs.
Boosters will likely be offered even more broadly in the coming weeks or months, including boosters of vaccines made by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
That, plus continued growth in initial vaccinations, could mean a huge gain in sales and profits for Pfizer and Moderna in particular.
“The opportunity quite frankly is huge.....
Taking out the Big Pharma marketing scheme, remove the Politicians who wants to be in the spot light. Then let the FDA approve the other vaccines and then let us decide for ourselves how to proceed.

While Republicans are opposing any of these irresponsible taxation and wasteful spending, the Democrats, progressive, Centrists, and others also are opposing many of the same.
Just a thought.

In November 2017, CNN’s Chris Cuomo struck an optimistic tone about the #MeToo movement. “I just feel like we have an opportunity here. Women are coming forward.” They are indeed, and this time, the target is … Chris Cuomo.

When daycare workers rolled out a lawn, planted forest undergrowth (such as dwarf heather and blueberries), and allowed children to care for crops in planter boxes, the diversity of microbes in the guts and on the skin of young kids appeared healthier in a very short space of time.
Compared to other city kids who play in standard urban daycares with yards of pavement, tile and gravel, 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds at these greened-up daycare centers in Finland showed increased T-cells and other important immune markers in their blood within 28 days.
The notion that an environment rich in living things impacts on our immunity is known as the 'biodiversity hypothesis'. Based on that hypothesis, a loss of biodiversity in urban areas could be at least partially responsible for the recent rise in immune-related illnesses.

The Prodigal Son, marble sculpture by Joseph Mozier, c. 1857, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
By all accounts, the Whitakers were a perfect family living in a community outside of Houston, Texas. That was all shattered on Dec. 10, 2003, when the family of four was gunned down as they entered their home. The dad, Kent, survived as did their son, Bart.
The investigation into the shooting revealed an intricate plot and a ruthless conspiracy. The mastermind of the plot is the oldest son Bart. In 2007 he was tried, convicted, given the death penalty.
Kent Whitaker[father] has fought to save Bart [son] from being executed.
The day Bart Whitaker was scheduled to die. Bart had a final meal. His father visited the prison for the last time before his scheduled execution.
Then his sentence was commuted to life in prison with no chance for parole for masterminding the fatal shootings of his mother and brother.
