Laugh...

Sadly most people fail in their quest for happiness for one simple reason: They seek it where there is nothing to be found.

Empty success, shallow pleasures, and immediate gratification seem to dominate our culture more and more.

When you laugh, you release happy hormones called oxytocin and endorphins. These are hormones that uplifts us as we share experiences with others.

Even just making yourself smile will put you in a better place. ... These are things that make you happy.

Butt...

The sound of the pandemic, was the sound of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s (D) voice. Between March 2 and May 31, 2020, he averaged one lengthy news conference a day almost all broadcast in full on my public radio station.

By the end of March 2020, 87 % of New Yorkers approve of his handling of the pandemic, but his newfound popularity spurred talk of federal office. He appeared on CNN nine times  with anchor/brother Chris Cuomo in the comedy series “Mom Loves Me Better.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D)reported that the state had undercounted Nursing Homes deaths by as much as 50 %,  that the state’s initial policy allowing covid patients to return to nursing homes before they recovered had put other residents at risk.

Then the undercount began to look like a Coverup. Soon after that, a former aide published an essay accusing Cuomo of sexual harassment; . Once the subject of late-night TV fawning, Cuomo has become the butt of its jokes.

Cuomo may have a darker side.    He talked and talked and talked. He asked his own questions and then answered them.... In October: “The fall is here. …  The Virus goes up. The leaves come down.

Emergency...

Vaccines for COVID-19 will start out being used under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the FDA. An EUA makes the vaccine available for public health emergencies. It means that the vaccine is available outside of a research study but is not yet approved. This is the usual first step for a new vaccine.

The vaccine can continue to be used as long as people benefit from it. The research continues as it moves toward full approval.

In a setback to Europe’s ailing vaccination campaign, seven other countries have also suspended the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca shot: Norway, Iceland, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.

Thailand on Friday became the first Asian country to halt the use of the jab over safety concerns, shortly after Denmark announced a two-week pause to its nationwide rollout after reports of blood clots and one death.

So there is many questions here regarding the emergency approval of Covid Vaccines. But the politicians are filling the air with all the benefits and nothing related to caution. Covid Vaccines is under emergency approval only.

Just a thought.

Visit...

The CDC agency’s guidance state those who have received a full course of COVID-19 vaccine may get together with other fully vaccinated individuals in small groups inside their homes without masks or physical distancing. They can also visit with unvaccinated people from one other household who are at low risk for severe disease.

The guidelines also say fully vaccinated people don’t need to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test if they’ve been exposed, unless they’re symptomatic. However, they should still monitor for symptoms for 14 days even if they're not in quarantine.

“You can visit your grandparents if you’ve been vaccinated and they have been, too,” CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said in a White House briefing Monday. “If grandparents have been vaccinated, they can visit their daughter and her family even if  they have not been vaccinated, so long as the daughter and her family are not at risk for severe disease.”

A little Late...

A sixth woman accused Gov. Cuomo of sexual harassment on Tuesday while the embattled governor again denied any wrongdoing.

Cuomo said he was unaware of the latest allegation made by an aide who claims he touched her inappropriately late last year while the pair were working together at the Executive Mansion.

“As I said last week, I never made any inappropriate advances. As I said last week, no one ever told me at the time I made them feel uncomfortable.

Cuomo’s comments came moments after the Albany Times Union reported that the governor’s office was made aware of the latest claim over the weekend and already passed the information on to the attorney general’s office, which is overseeing a probe into the governor’s behavior.

The unnamed accuser, a member of the Executive Chamber staff, claims Cuomo inappropriately touched her during an encounter last year at the Executive Mansion, the official residence of the governor.

Five other women, including four who worked for the governor throughout his career, have publicly accused Cuomo of misconduct or inappropriate behavior. The scandal has engulfed the governor, already under fire and facing a federal probe over his administration’s handling of COVID deaths in nursing homes, in recent weeks and led to increasing calls for his resignation.

Veep...

Joe Biden’s dogs have reportedly been returned to the family home in Delaware after showing aggressive behavior towards White House staff.

Champ and Major, both German shepherds, were sent home last week after Major had a “biting incident” with a member of the White House security team.

Major, who is three years old, was adopted by the Bidens in 2018 and is the first White House dog to have been adopted from a shelter. Since moving in a week after the president’s inauguration in January, he “has been known to display agitated behavior on multiple occasions, including jumping, barking, and ‘charging’ at staff and security”, CNN reported, citing two White House sources.

Champ, who is about 12, has “slowed down physically due to his advanced age”. He was adopted as a puppy in 2008 shortly after Biden was elected vice-president.

What are we talking about here?

Duty

 A deputy lord lieutenant,

I am a personal representative of Her Majesty the Queen in the English county of Nottinghamshire. I am also an Islamic scholar and translator of the Quran. I am intensely proud of my Britishness, my faith, and my South Asian heritage.

In the 10 years I have spent representing the royal family, they have been nothing but respectful of my background. The notion that they are racist is simply out of touch with reality.

This is not to delegitimize Meghan Markle’s experience, or to belittle the inevitable difficulties of someone adapting to royal life — to an existence based on duty, not stardom.

But on many occasions, I, and other members of minority communities, have spent extended periods of time with the royals. If racism was in their DNA, I would have certainly smelt it.   Just a thought.
