The literature studying men’s arousal patterns has repeatedly emphasized their sensitivity to visual cues. As soon as the inspiring image registers in their brain, they become turned-on—not only physically but also psychologically.

Frustrated women have frequently (and cynically) complained about men’s brains and visual interests instead of harvest it . As a result, every time a beautiful woman appears somewhere, the gloves come off.

“He can’t connect emotionally.”

Most of the women who say this are confusing love with the expression of love. While for women the two may be one in the same, for men they often aren’t. The truth is, both men and women feel; they just express it differently, if they express it at all. 

Women are often fine with sharing every last emotion in part because, for them, it’s a way of stress relief. Men, though, are more likely to “put on a mask” to conform to long-established societal expectations—and because the expression just doesn’t bring them the same sort of physical satisfaction.

 According to one survey, women in particular were more self-conscious about the appearance of scars and stretch marks, with 33% reporting that they adversely affected self-confidence, while only 19% of men had the same feelings.

 A small group of women are asked to describe their faces to a forensic artist to draw pictures of the women based on their verbal descriptions.

Each woman is also asked to socialize with a stranger, who later separately describes the woman. In the end, the women are shown the two drawings. Much to their amazement and delight, the drawings based on strangers’ descriptions depict much more beautiful women.  
“You are more beautiful than you think.”
