A former Morgan Stanley financial adviser was arrested in Nevada. Barry Connell, 50, of Chester, New Jersey, was arrested in Henderson, Nevada, on fraud and identity theft charges.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney said Connell "used his clients' bank accounts as his own, siphoning off millions of dollars to pay for his extravagant lifestyle, including a country club membership and private jet expenses."
The Securities and Exchange Commission said in a civil action that Connell misappropriated the money from the accounts of a couple and their daughter, using some of it to pay rent at a house near Las Vegas.
In a criminal complaint, the FBI said Connell had worked as a financial adviser in the bank's wealth management division from 2008 until November. It said he began in 2015 to manage multiple accounts for a family that had tens of millions of dollars in assets. Eventually, it said, he made withdrawals on at least 48 occasions as he siphoned off money.

Four people were shot and 18 others injured in clashes among dozens of migrants in the northern port city of Calais.
The brawl broke out between migrants from Afghanistan and Eritrea, and gunshots ensued. The four migrants who were shot were transported to a local hospital. They remained hospitalized, a spokesperson for the Pas-de-Calais prefecture told ABC News.
French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb praised the police officers who intervened in the brawl, noting that 84 officers have been wounded in Calais in the past two years.
Some 9,000 migrants lived in the infamous "Jungle" makeshift camp in Calais before authorities dismantled it in October 2016. Around 500 migrants still live in the area, according to authorities, though charity groups put the figure closer to 800.
The migrants have the option of going to reception centers where they can apply for asylum in Calais or elsewhere around the country. But many refuse to go to the centers and instead set up small camps near Calais, with hopes they'll be able to use the port city as a gateway to cross the English Channel to the United Kingdom.

Distant...*
Recent studies found that despite being more connected than ever, more people feel more alone than ever. Surprisingly, young people who are the most prolific social networkers of all.
So as we have built expansive social networks online, the depth of our networks offline has decreased. Technology makes it easier to stay in touch while keeping distance. People find themselves feeling distant and never touching, not enough to avoid feeling increasingly alone.
Human beings crave intimacy. We are wired for it. Yet genuine intimacy demands vulnerability and vulnerability requires courage. It requires that we lay down the masks we can so easily hide behind online, and reveal all of who we are with others – the good, the bad and the sometimes not so (photo-shopped) pretty.
Digital communication can never replace in person, face-to-face, contact in building relationships- personal and professional. So Mix and Match.
Just a [digital] thought.

British Prime Minister Theresa May told US Republicans that the United States and the UK must "stand strong together" but said that the days of protracted military interventions in foreign countries were over.
Calling on the US not to abandon the Iran nuclear deal, to defend Russia's neighboring states and to support international institutions such as NATO.
May signaled a retreat from interventionist policies of previous UK and US leaders like Tony Blair and George W. Bush, saying that a renewed UK-US partnership could not repeat the "failed policies of the past."
"The days of Britain and America intervening in Sovereign Countries in an attempt to remake the world in our own image are over. But nor can we afford to stand idly by when the threat is real and when it is in our own interests to intervene," she said. Just a thought
