Shortage...

U.S. Food and Drug Administration declared a nationwide shortage of many forms of injectable fentanyl citrate. This dosage form of the highly-potent opioid is often used for Hospitals, outpatient surgery and endoscopy procedures, such as colonoscopies.

The irony owes to the concurrent, rampant distribution of fentanyl and its chemical relatives in the clandestine drug supply across the U.S. and Canada.

In fact, illicitly-manufactured fentanyl, primarily from China, is the primary cause of the five-fold increase in U.S. overdose deaths due to synthetic opioids: from 3,105 in 2013 to approximately 20,000 of the total 60,000 opioid overdose deaths in 2016.

In contrast, three pharmaceutical fentanyl providers -- Akron, West-Ward and Pfizer -- are experiencing shortages of many versions of the injectable citrate form of the drug. According to the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, a combination of increased demand and manufacturing delays are behind the pharmaceutical fentanyl shortages. Fentanyl product backorders range from intermittent to delays as long as the third quarter of 2018.

Hulk Hogan alleged that Gawker violated his privacy after publishing a secretly recorded video of the ex-pro wrestler having sex with the wife of his then-best friend, Bubba Clem. {Jury awarded $140 Millions}
Gawker said that "publishing of the video is protected by the First Amendment because it's related to a matter of public concern, meaning it was 'newsworthy.''   The company will appeal.
Gawker says a key witness told the FBI that Hogan "knew he was making a sex tape" and that Hogan had sent text messages that undermined his case.  "Key evidence and the most important witness (Bubba Clem) were both improperly withheld from the jury,''  a statement.
Gawker has also claimed that Hogan initially filed the lawsuit to prevent the publication of another video that allegedly involves him using racist language, including the "N" word. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) severed all ties with Hogan in the wake of that disclosure.

Too much excitement about one sexual act on tape and some want someone to pay.  Whatever it is, no Money will exchange hands.                   Just a thought.

Hyundai Motor has unveiled a concept cockpit for a car that it could "monitor the physical and mental state of the driver."  Tracking heart rate, posture, breathing and facial feature recognition. The car would deliver "mood bursts" to make the driver calmer or more alert, Hyundai said in a statement.
The "burst" could include adjusting the seat position for either more alertness or relaxation, as well as adjustments to the warmth of the car's lighting, temperature, music volume and even the scents of lavender or eucalyptus inside the car.
An AAA study last year found that nearly 80 percent of drivers "expressed significant anger, aggression or road rage behind the wheel."
For Hyundai, the future of the car is also clean and connected. The company also announced that it would partner with Cisco to ensure security for self-driving connected cars, and that it would release a new hydrogen fuel cell car by 2018.
The mood burst better comes in the right time otherwise drivers may be more angered at the car itself.

Image result for protestors in Tehran

The demonstrations, which began Dec. 28 over the country's struggling economy, have been the largest in Iran since the disputed 2009 presidential election. At least 21 people have been killed and hundreds arrested.
Montazeri said the CIA official sought help from exiled Iranian groups and prepared for various scenarios that included protesting the high cost of living and financial demands on the elderly. Some received intelligence support from Israel and financing from Saudi Arabia -- Iran's two biggest regional adversaries.
The plot focused on fomenting dissent from the countryside to shake Tehran, Montazeri said.
Iranian suspicion of the CIA stretches back to 1953, when the CIA and the British executed the coup that overthrew its elected prime minister and cemented the rule of the American-backed shah.
A top Russian diplomat warned the U.S. not to meddle in Iran's affairs and suggested that Washington wants to use the unrest to undermine the Iran nuclear agreement.

Health officials in Southern California are warning the public that the current flu season is so intense that some hospitals are rerouting patients due to their increasingly limited capacity.
O.C. Global, one of Orange County's busiest hospitals, announced Thursday afternoon it would no longer be accepting ambulances at its emergency room except for those transporting trauma patients.
Earlier, the City of Riverside held a press conference during which health officials addressed the "surge" in influenza cases during the last week in the city, as well as Riverside County.

Bad situation, hope people protected themselves.

The first step, the governor said, was to sue to upend a new tax law that restricts individuals’ ability to deduct from federal taxes the amount they pay in state and local property taxes, ending standard tax-code practice. Cuomo said it amounted to “double taxation” and a political move to hurt high-tax states led by Democrats.

In the past, Cuomo often used the address to announce major construction projects. Not so, this time. He touched lightly on fixing the subway crisis, We know the problem, we know how to fix it, but we need the money.

While the specifics are still being worked out, they will likely include charging drivers a fee to enter Manhattan’s central business district below 60th Street and a hefty surcharge on app-based services like Uber and Lyft,

First: They don't know how to fix the subway. All what they do is ignore hundred of thousands of people who use the subway system in the evening.

Second: Tax those who drive.

Third: Then play the blame game.

Cold cuts can cause weight gain and lead to obesity. Obese individuals are at higher risk for heart disease and diabetes.

Most processed meats and cheeses are high in sodium. A high-sodium diet can cause high blood pressure and increase your risk of developing kidney disease and congestive heart failure. Ham, salami, turkey breast, cheddar, Swiss and American cheese are examples of high-sodium cold cuts.

Saturated fat raises levels of cholesterol in your blood and may increase your risk for heart disease.  .

A 2014 study published in the journal Epidemiology found an association between eating processed meats like salami lowers sperm count.

For a safe bet, limit the amount of processed meat you consume. Try to get all-natural and grass-fed–both of which limit the number of hormones you’ll be eating.

Steer away so you can keep your weight down.    Just a "food for" thought.    [SF Gate-Healthy eating]
