Cuts..

Late..

As unemployment continues to rise among Black workers, particularly Black women, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Massachusetts) is urging Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to address troubling new jobs data showing a disproportionate spike in Black unemployment.

In a letter sent Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, Pressley called on the Fed to uphold its mandate to maximize employment and requested detailed data on the impact Black women’s employment, or lack thereof, has on the labor market.

Calls to action have been raised for some time. Does this mean that the Fed is late?

 Just a thought.

Turning Point..

A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, officials announced Friday.

Tyler Robinson, a Utah native, was identified as the person who shot and killed Kirk on Wednesday, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said at a press conference in Utah on Friday.

I want to thank the family members of Tyler Robinson who did the right thing in this case and were able to bring him in to law enforcement," Cox said.

A family friend contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Thursday night, telling them Robinson confessed or implied that he had killed Kirk, Cox said.

Hemorrhaging..

An extensive research published last week tracking voter registration, the New York Times identified an alarming pattern. The Democratic party has been “hemorrhaging” voters since way before election day.

In the states that track voter registration by political party, Democrats lost to Republicans in all of them in the years between 2020 and 2024.

By the time Kamala Harris took over from Joe Biden, the party had already shed more than 2m votes in those states, and Republicans had gained 2.4m. This is part of a “four-year swing” that amounts to 4.5m votes.

In a chilling conclusion, the report states that “few measurements reflect the luster of a political party’s brand more clearly than the choice by voters.

Kirk..

MSNBC fired senior political analyst Matthew Dowd on Wednesday hours after he made widely criticized comments about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to multiple reports.

Speaking after the shooting, but before it was reported that Kirk had died, MSNBC host Katy Tur asked Dowd about the “environment” in which violence such as this can take place.

He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures, in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech sort of aimed at certain groups,” Dowd said of Kirk, adding:.........

Comment:

May he rest in peace.

Crime..

Calf Muscle..

The term "second heart" refers to the calf muscles, which act as a pump to return deoxygenated blood from the lower legs to the heart and lungs.

This calf muscle pump is vital for proper circulation, lymphatic drainage, and even helps with blood sugar regulation.

It works by contracting and expanding, pushing blood up through one-way valves in the veins.

Circulation:
The primary function of the calf muscle pump is to assist the main heart by

  •  moving blood against gravity from the lower legs back to the heart.
  • The calf pump works with one-way venous valves that open to allow blood to move up and close to prevent backflow, ensuring blood moves in the right direction.
  • When the calf muscles contract, they also stimulate lymphatic vessels, which helps drain waste and improves the immune system.

Adapt..

Denmark banned full-face veils like the burqa and niqab in public places in 2018. The ban was extended to schools and universities in 2025 by the Danish Prime Minister and the Social Democrats, who called the previous exception a mistake.

The legislation was passed by a majority vote and carries fines for offenders, with the aim of promoting integration and upholding Danish democratic values.

In June 2025, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced plans to expand the ban to educational institutions.

Her stated reasoning is that religious expressions like the niqab and burqa are incompatible with Danish cultural values and that democracy and gender equality take precedence.
