Build Back a "New Cold War" Better.    Just a thought

A trove of secret Pentagon documents that were exposed on social media have shed new light on the state of the war in Ukraine, showing just how deeply the United States has penetrated Russia’s military and intelligence services, and revealing that Washington has been spying on some of its closest allies as well its adversaries.

The leaked documents provide a grim assessment of the strength of Moscow’s war machine, and the Ukrainian military is in dire straits, too.

The intelligence reports show that the United States appears to be spying on Ukraine’s military and political leaders, as well as other important American allies, including Israel and South Korea.

The leaked documents have already complicated relations with allied countries, raising doubts about the United States’ ability to keep its secrets.

Is this the "fighting for Democracy" that the politicians keep talking about?

Two of Europe's top political heavyweights  held talks with China's President Xi Jinping last week.

After a grand military ceremony and bilateral and trilateral talks, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Xi to "bring back Russia to reason."

He said China could also help bring Moscow, with which Beijing maintains friendly relations, back to the negotiating table more than a year after the Kremlin launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who is also in Beijing for talks with Xi, said in a news conference, "As a member of the U.N. Security Council there is a big responsibility – we expect China will play its role and promote a just peace, one that respects Ukraine's sovereign and territorial integrity, one of the cornerstones of the U.N. charter."

Xi said all countries should respect commitments on not using nuclear weapons and "refrain from any action that would lead to further deterioration of the crisis or even to it getting out of contro."

On the other hand, ...  What is the USA position..?..

Libya..

The Conventional Wisdom Is Wrong.  Libya's 2011 uprising was never peaceful, but instead was armed and violent from the start.
Muammar al-Qaddafi did not target civilians or resort to indiscriminate force.
NATO's intervention did not aim mainly to protect civilians, but rather to overthrow Qaddafi's regime, even at the expense of increasing the harm to Libyans.
The Intervention Backfired. NATO's action magnified the conflict's duration about sixfold and its death toll at least sevenfold, while also exacerbating human rights abuses, humanitarian suffering, Islamic radicalism, and weapons proliferation in Libya and its neighbors.
If Libya was a "model intervention," then it was a model of failure. However, did anyone paid a price for the dead?   Just a thought.

Happy Easter Day..

كل سنةوانتم جميعا بصحة وسلام

New..

Easter is a symbol of walking away from death and into life. It gives us the power to overcome the culture of death with its sad faces and terrible expressions.

It is about the culture of Life and Love.

The Easter Event turned around the lives of Christ's disciples through-out the ages. It can turn around our lives today, to rise, to come forth into the light of a new day.

Easter is a new beginning, in any and all directions. Self improvement, Healthy eating, Exercises, Improve Relationships with your surrounding, families, and co-workers. All are possible and it's up to you. Happy Easter to all.

Bust..

Covid-19 pandemic may be fading into history, but debate over disease-control policies remains fierce.
In January Cochrane, a non-profit, published a meta-analysis (a study of studies) on mask mandates, which did not detect statistically significant evidence of their effectiveness.
Critics of lockdowns have touted this result. “Mask mandates were a bust,” wrote Bret Stephens of the New York Times
“Sceptics who were furiously mocked as cranks…were right. The mainstream experts and pundits…were wrong.”
Wall Street Journal op-ed last week said the media had refused to cover it to “squelch dissent”.

Peace..

Saudi Aramco publicized a multibillion-dollar investment in China’s petrochemical industry. Saudi Arabia and its OPEC+ partners announced a cut to oil production to keep prices at current market level

Alongside the recent China-brokered agreement for Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic ties, these developments typify an ongoing transition: America is stepping back, and China is stepping up in the Middle East.

First, China under Xi had completed its evolution from a regional to a global power.

Second, China would be a peacemaker, solving problems the United States would not or could not address.

Both messages amount to a play for leadership of the Global South, and are part and parcel of Xi’s effort to forge a new world order. Just a "Peaceful" thought.
