Over half a million Americans die from Alzheimer each year, making it the third leading cause of death in the US, right behind heart disease and cancer.

The good news is that diet, exercise, and sleep can have a significant impact on your risk.

Mounting research suggests our modern diet is playing a significant role in the skyrocketing prevalence of Alzheimer’s. Processed foods tend to be nearly devoid of healthy fat while being excessive in sugar, and this combination appears to be at the heart of the problem.

Most people (especially Americans) are on a processed food diet, and this virtually guarantees you’ll end up getting inverted ratios of carbs and fats, not to mention both are typically inferior due to processing and adulteration.

The connection between sugar and Alzheimer’s was first broached in 2005, when the disease was tentatively dubbed "type 3 diabetes.” At that time researchers discovered that your brain produces insulin necessary for the survival of your brain cells.

Previous research has also shown diabetics have a doubled risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
Now, researchers are again warning that Alzheimer’s appears to be intricately linked to insulin resistance.

Pineland Farms is warning cross country skiers about an aggressive, dive-bombing owl that appears to be protecting a nest near a groomed trail.

“Owls are very protective of their territory, and she’s doing her job,”.
In a Facebook post, Pineland Farms said the owl is most likely a barred owl or a great horned owl.

Both types mate and nest earlier than other owls. From January to March, these owls can become aggressive as they defend their territory and nest. Owls are most active in the evening and early morning.
“As a recreational property, we value both the safety of our visitors as well as our farm animals and wildlife,” the post said. “With education and appreciation of our natural resource, we hope.

These are tough Owls.

Trump’s comments, made in the White House, came as Democratic Senator Dick Durbin and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham briefed the president on a newly drafted immigration bill being touted by a bipartisan group of senators, according to the sources, who asked not to be identified.

"Why do we want all these people from Africa here? They’re shithole countries ... We should have more people from Norway.”

White House spokesman Raj Shah said: “Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people.”

“Like other nations that have merit-based immigration, President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation,” Shah said.

No Immigration for those who are full of hate towards the Americans.   Just a thought.

A new, small study has found people in their 50s and early 60s can regain the heart health of someone decades younger through a regular and reasonable aerobic exercise program, no matter how long they've been inactive, the study authors said.

Middle-aged couch potatoes who worked out four or five days a week including a couple of days of high-intensity aerobics for two years experienced a notable decrease in the stiffness of their heart muscle.

A more flexible heart means less risk of heart failure as one ages.
Here is your chance. Just a thought.

Loneliness...

It’s widely believed that older age is darkened by persistent loneliness. But a considerable body of research confirms this isn’t the case.

In fact, loneliness is the exception rather than the rule in later life. And when it occurs, it can be alleviated: It’s a mutable psychological state.

Seventy percent of elderly have enough fulfilling interactions with other people to meet their fundamental social and emotional needs

Understanding the extent of loneliness is important, insofar as this condition has been linked to elevated stress, impaired immune system function, inflammation, high blood pressure, depression, cognitive dysfunction and an earlier-than-expected death in older adults.

A new study, co-authored by Hawkley, highlights another underappreciated feature of this affliction: Loneliness is often transient, not permanent.

What helped older adults who had been lonely recover?

Two factors: spending time with other people and eliminating discord and disturbances in family relationships.

Extra...**

Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery

At some restaurants, the seven deadly sins aren't just vices: They're big business, too.

By channeling the lust and gluttony of its patrons, these restaurants have delivered blockbuster growth in an industry that has struggled to move the sales needle.

Following the model pioneered by the Hooters chain with scantily clad waitresses and ice cold beer, Twin Peaks saw sales soar 45 percent. That made it the fastest-growing full-service large chain in America.  Tilted Kilt and Fogo de Chão, also made the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains.

"We talk about weapons of mass distraction as one of our branding points,".
The chain sees itself as the "ultimate sports lodge" with TVs everywhere and classic, made-from-scratch bar food, such as Buffalo wings, and a venison chili burgers.

People are looking for Extra". "If they are going to spend hard-earned money, they want to get good food and be entertained at the same time."

Morally ...
It is a nice word some are hiding behind it. Many bad things in our world are hidden behind Morality.

So when it comes to medications, it is morally essential to help the patient who didn't have another place to go to.

And if the patients had the choice, you would be morally bankrupt and so is your pharmacy.

Jan. 6, 2017The U.S. arm of automaker Fiat-Chrysler, announced that it would invest a total $1 billion in plants in Michigan and Ohio, which will add 2000 new jobs in the United States.

Ford is canceling plans to build a new plant in Mexico. It will invest $700 million in Michigan instead, creating 700 new U.S. jobs.  Ford (F) CEO Mark Fields said the investment is a "vote of confidence" in the pro-business environment being created by Donald Trump.
