The 44-year-old has staged 'a dangerous stunt that alarmed the public and endangered her own life and the lives of the visitors to the historic place. The National Park Service evacuated more than 4,000 visitors off Liberty Island on Wednesday as a precaution.
Jay Walker, an organizer with Rise and Resist said the other demonstrators had no idea Okoumou would make the ascent, which wasn't part of the planned protest.
Some want to be more rediculoud than the previous.
Okoumou emigrated to the US in 1994. She was arrested in August 2017 for trespassing and obstruction of government administration during a demonstration at the New York Department of Labor, reported the New York Daily News.
