Believe...

Questioning Tara Reade's story doesn't make one a rape apologist ...

‘Believe the woman’ didn’t mean believe all women, all the time. But this is an era of slogans, and we’re paying the price for that.” So spoke an adviser to one of the women now being considered as Joe Biden’s running mate, quoted by Politico. In other words, "believe the woman" was a lie.

What they meant was, "Believe the woman when she’s with our party and the man she's accusing is a conservative who might vote against us on the Supreme Court."

So Anita Hill was a saint, whereas Paula Jones (who got a nice hefty sum out of Bill Clinton), was "trailer-park trash." Juanita Broaddrick could not get a hearing, and Gloria Steinem wrote in the New York Times that President Clinton, because of his party and his stance on abortion, should get a pass, depending upon whom he had pawed.

Given this, an impartial observer has to conclude that Reade’s story is probably more likely true because she gave a time and a place to her story, seemed disturbed to contemporaneous observers, and told others about it.

Any woman who believes Blasey Ford and not Reade does not believe in "believing the woman." And the woman chosen by Biden to run right beside him will be "paying the price" for the lie. Just a thought.

Perks...

BOSS Magazine | Google6-employee-perks

Google employees won't be able to expense food or gym costs while working from home  even if they have extra money from unused event or travel budgets.
The company issued an updated policy in the last week that states employees cannot expense perks while working from home, including food, fitness, home office furniture, decoration or gifts, according to materials viewed by CNBC.
The policy also states that employees cannot use unused budgets to do things like purchase meals for themselves or their teams during virtual meetings or donate to charities of their choice.
The clarification comes as some employees, who enjoyed a plethora of perks as one of their draws to the company, hoped they would be able to maintain some of these perks after they were ordered to work from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cartoon book explains New York City dos and don'ts - The San Diego ...

New York City faces its worst fiscal crisis since the 1970s because of the coronavirus pandemic, with massive job losses and an estimated $9.7 billion decrease in the city’s tax revenue over the next two fiscal years, according to a report released.
The city’s Independent Budget Office estimated a possible loss of 475,000 jobs.

De Blasio said "There’s no way to balance this budget with cuts alone. It’s impossible. Unless we’re talking about not providing basic services to New Yorkers, and if we’re not providing basic services, then you can kiss your recovery goodbye,”
Mr. de Blasio and City Council leaders have spent more taxpayer money, hiring more workers and increasing city services, and this year is no different: The budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year, which begins July 1, weighs in at $92.8 billion.
Stop complaining and Balance the Budget. Just a thought.

The National Rifle Association of America sued New York state's governor and economic development arm in federal court on Thursday for closing gun stores during the coronavirus epidemic by deeming them non-essential businesses.
In the lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of New York, the NRA claimed that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has "effectively and indefinitely suspended a key component of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution" by forcing gun stores across the state to temporarily shutter their doors.
As states around the country issued stay-at-home orders amid the coronavirus pandemic, some, like New York, didn't deem firearm and ammunition retailers to be essential, forcing those businesses to close.

NY working with 6 Northeast states to reopen economy

New York will partner with six other Northeast states to buy critical coronavirus supplies, and Empire State officials will mandate hospitals statewide to stockpile at least 90 days’ worth of protective gear in preparation for a possible second wave of the contagion, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday.
New York and its six partners — New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Rhode Island and Massachusetts — will now enter the marketplace together to buy some $5 billion of personal protective equipment, tests, ventilators and other equipment from companies and overseas suppliers.
The seven states are already partnered to move towards a gradual reopening of their respective economies. But that story didn't hold.

New York is behind other States since it is highly condensed in NYC. Rhode Island and other State either did reopen or on its way. Not waiting for Cuomo's plan.

This plan of cooperation is a day late and a dollar short. Each State has its own population, budget, economics and number of death. New York State is the highest in Covid 19 death, a result of the politicians' policies. Reopen NYC will take a miracle.

Disappear...

Granlund cartoon: Biden running - Hannibal Courier-Post -

Rush Limbaugh said he has an “instinctive feeling” that Joseph R. Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign may soon disappear courtesy of “the highest levels of the Democrat National Committee.”
The conservative icon said his decades of experience reading political tea leaves and analyzing media bias has given him a gut instinct on the Democrat’s fate, given sexual assault allegations by former Senate staffer Tara Reade.
“Biden is somebody that’s not gonna be on the ticket anyway,” said Mr. Limbaugh, who returned from a round of cancer treatment. “Something’s gonna happen.

He said that biased media outlets and the DNC have a vested interest in ousting Mr. Biden, given the political stock they have invested in the #MeToo movement in recent years.
“They’ve gotten caught on” #MeToo hypocrisy, Mr. Limbaugh continued. “Now they’ve got the exact kind of allegation that [Supreme Court Justice Brett] Kavanaugh was hit with except this one is even more believable. … So they’re faced with a hard, cold reality on the Democrat side, and that is they have to find a way to get him off the ticket.
Just a thought.

Fifteen children in New York City have been hospitalized with symptoms compatible with a multi-system inflammatory syndrome possibly linked to the coronavirus, according to a health alert issued by the New York City Health Department on Monday.
The patients, ages 2 to 15 years, were hospitalized from April 17 to May 1, according to the alert.
Several tested positive for Covid-19 or had positive antibody tests.

Specialists in the UK recently warned that a small number of children were becoming ill with the rare syndrome that could be linked to coronavirus. The Paediatric Intensive Care Society UK (PICS) warned about a small rise in the number of cases of critically ill children, some who had tested positive for Covid-19.
