Work Hard..

People tend to admire success from a safe distance, seeing the trophy without ever seeing the years that produced it. 

David Beckham summed up his own version of that gap plainly. "I have always believed that if you want to achieve anything special in life you have to work, work, and then work some more," he said. 

The repetition is not accidental. He is describing something continuous, not a single burst of effort that happens once and then stops. 

Coming from a player often remembered for his technique on free kicks and crosses, the line carries the weight of someone who actually built that skill through repetition, rather than someone simply repeating a motivational slogan he never had to test himself.

 

Beckham is not describing hard work as an occasional event. He is describing it as the actual, unglamorous rhythm behind lasting achievement.

Natural ability offers a real head start, but plenty of gifted people never fully develop it, while plenty of less naturally talented people outwork their way past them over time.
