Spain, Down and Out...

Spain has been the world’s best soccer team, winning the World Cup in 2010 and winning the European Cup in 2008 and 2012. They did it with flair and creativity, with a beautiful, fluid short passing game.

Spain lost 5-1 to the Netherlands, then fell 2-0 to Chile. They will play Australia but they cannot advance. The Aussie put up a surprisingly good battle against the Netherlands.

Spain appeared slow, no desire to win or prepared to fight.  Spain’s goalkeeper, Casillas, may be blamed for couple of errors.

So for the World Cup Soccer 2014, one of pre-tournament favorites is a bust, leaving Brazil, Germany, Argentina and the Netherlands as the most potent-looking teams thus far.

Just a [sad] thought.
