Big Mac..

Scott MacFarlane joined CBS News as a correspondent in 2021 and rose to prominence at the network with his coverage of the aftermath of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
His final article for the network, dated last Friday, was an article about the incident.
According to Guardian U.S. media reporter Jeremy Barr, “it was known that MacFarlane was unhappy with the network’s very brief mention of the Jan. 6 anniversary on the CBS Evening News.”
Last month, CBS Evening News producer Alicia Hastey and 60 Minutes correspondent Anderson Cooper also resigned from the network.
“There has been a sweeping new vision prioritizing a break from traditional broadcast norms to embrace what has been described as ‘heterodox’ journalism,” said Hastey in her resignation note.
“Stories may be instead be evaluated not just on their journalistic merit but on whether they conform to a shifting set of ideological expectations — a dynamic that pressures producers and reporters to self-censor or avoid challenging narratives that might trigger backlash or unfavorable headlines.”

Drone..

Three US bombers have returned to Britain after completing the first UK-approved attacks on Iran since Sir Keir Starmer’s policy shift.

The supersonic B-1 Lancers touched down on a bright morning in Gloucestershire after contributing to what US War Secretary Pete Hegseth had insisted would be the ‘most intense night of bombing’ of the conflict.

Previously the Prime Minister had denied Donald Trump permission to use RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia as part of the campaign – over fears the US’s intentions to cause regime change in Iran were illegal under international law.

Downing Street’s position shifted after an Iranian drone targeted the British airbase on Cyprus. Following that attack on 1st March, the UK approved the build up of B-1s and B-52s at Fairford.

The base is vital to the United States Air Force due to its extended runway and as it shortens the journey for long-range bombers from the US.
