![]()
Nonfarm payrolls increased by 1.37 million in August and the unemployment rate tumbled to 8.4% as the U.S. economy continued to climb its way out of the pandemic downturn.
The unemployment rate was by far the lowest since the coronavirus shutdown in March, according to Labor Department figures released Friday. An alternative measure that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons also fell, down to 14.2% from 16.5% in July and 22.8% at the peak in April.
That wasn't the work of Sleepy Joe from his basement. Just a thought.

Attorney General William Barr did not appear to buy Wolf Blitzer's claim Wendesday that CNN is "fair and balanced."
At the end of a lengthy, contentious interview, the "Situation Room" host asked if Barr would return for President Trump's second term if the incumbent wins reelection, a question Barr thought was "presumptuous" for him to answer.
Yeah, but the media should be fair and balanced no matter who the president is," Barr retorted. "[It] doesn't give the media license to lie the way a lot of the media is
"I can speak for us, we are fair and balanced," Blitzer said in defense of his network.
"OK," the attorney general reacted with a chuckle.
If this guy chuckle, that is the big answer. Just a thought.

Nervous...
HBO's Bill Maher declared Friday night that he's "very nervous" about Democratic nominee Joe Biden's chances against President Trump with the election less than nine weeks away.
The "Real Time" host told MSNBC's Joy Reid on the network's new prime-time program that he felt the same concern in 2016.
"I don't know if this stuff works, but it might," Maher said on "The ReidOut" regarding the production of the Republican National Convention, which wrapped up on Thursday night. Reid had noted that the convention was "smoothly produced."
Off the Chart...

The documentary film-maker Michael Moore has warned that Donald Trump appears to have such momentum in some battleground states that liberals risk a repeat of 2016.
Moore, said that “enthusiasm for Trump is off the charts” in key areas compared with Joe Biden.
The Biden campaign just announced he’ll be visiting a number of states – but not Michigan. Sound familiar?” presumably similar to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 race.
“I’m warning you almost 10 weeks in advance. The enthusiasm level for the 60 million in Trump’s base is OFF THE CHARTS! For Joe, not so much,” he later added.
