Dog...*

Image result for a dog person

The kind of dog you have tells a lot about your personality. A study in England found a very clear correlation between people’s personalities and type of dogs they owned.

People who owned toy dogs tend to be more intelligent, while owners of utility dogs like Dalmatians and bulldogs were the most conscientious.

Dog owners in general are more outgoing and friendly than cat owners. Dogs take on their owners' personality traits, so if you fly off the handle, it might explain why your dog is so aggressive.

People who interact with a pet while working have lower stress levels throughout the day, while people who do not bring a pet see their stress levels increase over time.

People trust others who have dogs more. Even if you live alone, having a dog has the same emotional benefit as that of a human friendship.

Just the act of petting a dog lowers heart rate and blood pressure.  People who own dogs get better sleep at night and are sick less often, have slightly lower cholesterol and are more likely to survive a heart attack.

Dog owners are less likely to suffer from depression than non-pet owners.   Since taking care of a dog requires a routine and forces you to stay at least a little active, it is harder to stay inside feeling down all the time. The interaction with and love received from a dog can also help people stay positive.

People with dogs seem to get ill less frequently and less severely than people with cats or no pets.
So feel good. Just a thought.

The administration’s proposal includes a multiyear path to citizenship for Dreamers, an end to the Diversity Visa lottery, a reduction in family-based migration, an increase in merit-based visas, and funding for additional barricades along the Mexican border.

None of those provisions come out of the blue. All of them were included in a bipartisan immigration bill that passed the Senate in 2013, with support from Schumer and Durbin, before dying in the House.

The Democrats don’t sound like a party that wants to tackle immigration. They sound like they’re looking for an issue to run on in the November midterm elections.

For a taste of what’s coming, Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader in the House, called the White House immigration proposal an effort “to make America white again.”

What color does Pelosi prefer?

Imodium...

 Image result for loperamide use

The Food and Drug Administration is asking manufacturers of over-the-counter anti-diarrhea treatments to change the way they package their products to curb abuse by people with drug addictions.

The products, readily available in supermarkets and drugstores, are safe when used at the recommended maximum daily dose of four 2-milligram tablets. But in large quantities, the agency warned, these products can cause dangerous, irregular heartbeats and other problems potentially resulting in death.
Loperamide is sometimes referred to as “the poor man's methadone.” In large quantities, it induces a cheap, mild high and relieves withdrawal symptoms for drugs like hydrocodone, morphine or heroin.

Hostess Brands, Inc. is a bakery company formed in June 2013. It owns several bakeries in the United States that produce snack cakes under the Hostess and Dolly Madison brand names.

The company, which makes Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos, is providing its employees one-time payments of $1,250 -- with $750 in cash and $500 in the form of a 401(k) contribution. In taking the step, Hostess cited last month's tax legislation, which slashed the rate for U.S. corporations.

The employee perks come after a painful history for Hostess's workforce. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and was temporarily shut down, sending all of its employees packing. Hostess was resurrected in a deal orchestrated by Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., but with a fraction of its former staff.
