Lottery...

Charlie Lagarde,18-year-old winner of the Gagnant à Vie lottery

On her 18th birthday, Charlie Lagarde won the lottery the first time she played. The Quebecois beat the one in 6 million odds to take home the grand prize: a lump sum of $1 million or $1,000 a week for the rest of her life.
She went for the annuity, something most lottery winners opt againstwhen given the choice expert opinion on the best option varies.
After all, astoundingly, lottery winners are more likely to declare bankruptcy within a few years than the average American.
Many winners struggle with depression, get divorced and deal with relentless requests from friends and family who want a piece of the prize, CNBC Make It has previously reported. Often the lottery doesn't improve lives, it tears them apart.
"If you're not disciplined, you will go broke.

Checking the accuracy or authenticity of documents provided by refugee applicants against foreign government records is difficult.  It is also difficult to check foreign government records for local arrests, bank records, business licenses or civil filings. “We do the best we can with the information we have,” one U.S. official said.
The process has no guarantee of approval and takes so long Syrians wait nearly three years for approval to come to U.S.

While the vetting process is about the Migrants Past and Background, it is important to see what the Immigrants think and do with the basic principles of life in USA.

Freedom of speech, Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Religion

But then comes the conflict of their past lives and their New lives and its impact on their Wives, Daughters, Mothers and next door neighbors.

As soon as migrants got their entry to Colon, Germany, the planning, the criminality, and the sexual assaults on women began. That is coordinated to be in New Years Eve, in the main Cathedral Square.

The Migrants want Freedom of Speech, but not much, Freedom of Expression, but not by women, Freedom of Religion but only to some.

In the days after the December 2015 massacre in San Bernardino, California the iPhone left behind by one of the shooters was secretly flown to the FBI’s laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.

The FBI had been unable to review the phone’s contents due to a security feature

Apple fought a court order "to help authorities bypass the security feature". Apple maintained the U.S. government was asking it to create a "backdoor" into its devices.

One company officials demonstrated their technology and the FBI greenlighted applying it to the phone.  "the FBI has now successfully retrieved the data stored on" the phone, according to the Justice Department. The court case is withdrawn.  Apple did not play a part in finding the solution.

The shoe is now on the other foot.   Just a thought.

It’s a common reaction.
“People are concerned about an institutional structure [Homeless shelter] coming into a residential neighborhood. They’re concerned about what the impact is going to be on the resources that may already be scarce.

Quality of life and real estate value are the two issues in mind.
Resolve this complexity and all would welcome a shelter.

President Trump reportedly wants to take on Amazon and the internet retail behemoth's tax treatment.
The president has long argued that Amazon gets unfair tax treatment relative to brick-and-mortar retailers.

The company's stock, in turn, lost more than $50 billion in shareholder value at one point.
It is definitely unfair and badly  impct the mommand pop businesses. Something need to be done.

Three scientists working at New York University's Langone  are accused of passing research funded by the National Institutes of Health to a rival research institute funded by the Chinese government. For one scientist, his compensation was pre-paid grad school tuition.

US. Attorney for Manhattan said the university was "inviting and paying for foxes in the henhouse."

The three men were allegedly working for United Imaging, a Chinese company working in MRI research, and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, a research backed by the Chinese government. So how does that pay? Zhu allegedly received $400,000 cash from a United Imaging executive who prosecutors said was a co-conspirator in the plot. Yang and Li were both granted free travel. Yang also had his grad school tuition paid for, while United paid for Li's rent in New York City.

NYU caught them taking pictures of the school's equipment and discussing private information with their Chinese contacts. Zhu allegedly admitted working as a "co-lead investigator" for United Imaging since 2011 after he was confronted by the university.

The leader of Yemen's Shiite rebels has lashed out at the United States, accusing it of fomenting the war in his country through a Saudi-led coalition and claim that U.S.-ally Israel is participating in attacks in Yemen.
Al-Houthi's remarks were published in a front-page interview with the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar, dressed in a traditional Yemeni robe with a dagger worn on a belt.
Al-Houthi alleges the U.S. saw the war in Yemen "as a golden opportunity to seek control" of the region.
He says Saud Arabia and the United Arab Emirates  two top nations in the coalition against his rebels, known as Houthis wouldn't have "entered the war ... without American desire and supervision."
Do we have a hand in it?   Just a thought.

The Coloradoan reports attorneys for the city of Fort Collins notified a federal appeals court of their intent to challenge a preliminary injunction blocking a section of the city's public nudity law.

In granting the injunction last month, the judge said he would likely find the city ordinance that makes it a crime for women but not men to show their nipples unconstitutional.

The Fort Collins City Council voted to keep the law in 2015, rejecting a growing movement to remove gender-specific indecency codes. Two women then sued to challenge the law.

McDougal...

Image result for karen Mcdougal

Throughout the extensive interview with CNN, McDougal expressed guilt over the alleged 10-month relationship with the married man who now occupies the Oval Office.
She said that guilt was what ultimately led her to end the alleged affair. In response to Trump's offer of money after the first time they had sex, McDougal said she told Trump, "That's not me. I'm not that kind of girl."
 'You're really special,'" he said.
Shortly before the presidential election, The Wall Street Journal published a story that American Media Inc. paid $150,000 to McDougal, but did not run her story in a tabloid maneuver known as "catch and kill." The contract, according to the Journal, did not require the Enquirer to run the story and compelled McDougal's silence.
When would CNN get out of the gutter.

Suspect in a series of bombings around Austin, Texas, Mark Anthony Conditt, of Pflugerville, Texas.

He worked with his dad around their modest yellow house, fixing up a newly purchased home in an old-fashioned, close-knit neighborhood — the kind of place where residents check in on one another.

The parents of the man police say was responsible for a string of bombings [Seven] in Texas are "devastated for the other families," neighbors told ABC News.

Mark Conditt was homeschooled in Pflugerville along with his siblings.
Neighbors described the Conditts as "really good people" who were "devout" Christians, often hosting church group meetings in their home.

Police said Conditt seemed motivated by frustration with his life.
Need acceptable reasons for this horrible act by this young man. Just a thought.

Kevin Trudeau claims that there are "all-natural cures" for serious illnesses including cancer, herpes, arthritis, AIDS, acid reflux disease, in his book " Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About ".

He accused gov. agencies and others of conspiring to suppress low cost, common remedies to diseases, including cancer.

According to his book covers, several of his books have been number one on the New York Times bestseller list.

Trudeau, 51, convicted on violating a federal court order  prohibited him from making misleading infomercials and misrepresenting his weight-loss books (32,000 times).

District Judge Ronald Guzman blasted Trudeau, saying that for decades he "steadfastly attempted to cheat others for his own personal gain."  "deceitful to the core."

Prosecutors said they could think of no comparable case of someone cheating people so brazenly.  Calling him an "uncontrollable huckster".

Trudeau said he has “sincere remorse” for it all.

Oddly enough, he looked honest, sincere, and believable........  I didn't believe his claims at all specially cure for Cancer.
