Image result for mamels,red titi"

Mammals, pair bonds are very rare, one of the few exceptions being the red titi monkeys of South America. These relatively small tree dwellers live in pairs or small family groups and are characterized by the fact that the males take intensive care of their offspring.

A team of researchers from the German Primate Center – Leibniz Institute for Primate Research has now investigated how pair relationships work in titi monkeys. Their results support the so-called “male-services hypothesis”:

Males provide a useful service by taking more care of the offspring and defending the territory against intruders, while the females are more involved in relationship management and, for example, seek the proximity of their partner more often.

“This behavior is in line with the ‘male-services hypothesis’, which states that females are mainly concerned with being close to their partner while the latter provides useful services, such as defense against intruders or rearing the young.

Cybercriminals have scammed a Texas school district out of $2.3 million by using a phony email.
The Manor Independent School District lost the hefty sum as a result of a phishing email scam, the school district said in a statement last week. Details on how the scam was perpetrated are not clear at this time.
Phishing email typically tries to get the victim to click on a malicious link in order to execute an attack, but that may not even be necessary. Attacks
can also happen through a plain text email intended to fool the recipient to commit a wire transfer or send sensitive information.

There are all sorts of scam. They all after your money.

As we approach the next presidential election, watch for your wallet.  Just a thought

The Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from three women involved in the so-called Free the Nipple movement who were arrested for exposing their breasts in public.
The women sought to challenge a city law in Laconia, N.H., that they argued amounted to unconstitutional discrimination on the basis of gender.
"They were arrested and prosecuted as women for doing what any man may lawfully do."d
The activists were arrested in 2016 for being topless on a beach and last year lost in the New Hampshire Supreme Court, prompting their appeal to the justices.
Beaches are different than the subway system.
The case was Lilley v. New Hampshire.

The four pillars of every longevity diet in the world are whole grains, greens, nuts, and beans," Buettner said. "When you crunch the numbers, it's very clear that it's a 90% to 100% plant-based, very-high-carbohydrate diet. About 65% carbs, but not simple carbs like muffins and cakes - complex carbs."

Beans are a high-carbohydrate, high-fiber food that nearly impossible to eat on high-fat, low-carb diets like the trendy keto plan.
The favorite bean dish is a Greek "longevity stew," loaded with fennel, black-eyed peas, olive oil, tomato, and garlic.

Iran admitted Saturday that it mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet, blaming human error and "US adventurism" for the crash that left 176 people dead.
In a statement, the nation's armed forces said it targeted the passenger plane unintentionally. It attributed the crash to radar activity and fear of US action.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake. My thoughts and prayers go to all the mourning families," Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.
After the missile operation in Iraq, US military flights around Iranian borders increased and Iranian military officials reported seeing aerial targets coming toward strategic centers, according to a statement by Iranian armed forces headquarters.
"The aircraft came close to a sensitive IRGC military center at an altitude and flight condition that resembled hostile targeting.

Iran Air Flight 655 was a scheduled passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai via Bandar Abbas that was shot down on 3 July 1988 by an SM-2MR surface-to-air missile fired from USS Vincennes, a guided-missile cruiser of the United States Navy. The aircraft, an Airbus A300, was destroyed and all 290 people on board were killed.

Same tragedy.

Climate...

For the first time ever, Swedish wind power produced more than a terawatt-hour of energy in one week.

" The record is partly due to the fact that it's been unbelievably windy, especially in the northern parts of Sweden, and partly because we have more wind power installed now," Per Holm from Swedenergy said.

Last year wind power produced almost 20 terawatt-hours throughout the whole year, and represents just over ten percent of electricity production in Sweden. However, it is more unpredictable than other methods.

Sweden's net exports of electricity rose by  equivalent to around 15 percent of Sweden's total electricity production.

The electricity was primarily exported to Norway and Finland, which were not able to produce enough electricity to cover their needs.

Swedish electricity comes mostly from water, and nuclear power with wind power production raised by almost a fifth in 2019.

So the world is changing to accommodate the climate. Just a thought.

A Jane Doe murder victim who has remained nameless since her body was discovered in a Georgia cornfield on Halloween 1981 has finally been identified almost 40 years later.

A tip prompted GBI investigators to speak with Hammack’s surviving family members, and her remains were then exhumed. DNA taken from Hammack’s biological mother determined that the Brooks County Jane Doe was her daughter.

Shirlene "Cheryl" Hammack’s killer was George Newsome, who worked at a traveling fair that investigators believed also employed Hammack. Newsome was arrested shortly after the murder and police found the rope that had been used to strangle Hammack in a motor home he owned.
Newsome escaped custody from the Brooks County jail and went on the run until January 1983, when he was arrested in Alabama.

Jose Sifuentes, 42, is accused of capital murder in the sexually motivated slayings of three  young, Latina women between 1998 and 2003 in Dallas County, Assistant District Attorney Leighton D'Antoni said.
Sifuentes was arrested in 2003 for the murder of Veronica Hernandez, the only known victim at the time.  He posted bond  and fled to Mexico.
More DNA evidence was found in the years Sifuentes was in Mexico, prosecutors said, and in 2017 indictments were returned against him for the capital murders of the three victims.
They all worked at "taxi clubs," and it's believed Sifuentes encountered all three in that setting.

The British backpacker had arrived in Australia from Lincoln late last year, having previously visited the likes of Thailand on her travels.
