The CIA has concluded in an assessment that Saudi Arabia's crown prince ordered the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, according to the Associated Press and Washington Post.
The assessment comes weeks after the Saudi government admitted Khashoggi, a fierce critic of the royal family, was killed in its Turkish consulate at the hands of interrogators. Saudi officials, however, denied that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was involved or aware of the killing.
The CIA reached its conclusions on intelligence, including phone calls between the crown prince's brother, Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, and Khashoggi, the Washington Post reported, citing unnamed officials.
The Post reported the CIA had evidence showing Khalid told Khashoggi he should visit the Saudi's consulate in Istanbul, the location where Khashoggi was killed and dismembered.
Khalid denied having any recent communications with Khashoggi, saying in a statement from an Embassy spokesperson that the last time he'd communicated with the columnist was in October of 2017.   USA Today.

Image result for first winter storm in nyc 2018- standing in line

City students were left stranded on snow-stuck school buses late into the night Thursday — such as special-needs student George Jordan who spent seven hours on a bus home to the Bronx — after the day’s small storm clogged streets and caused havoc across New York.

The Department of Education said on Twitter that there were still buses with kids heading home out on the roads after 11 p.m. There were reports that other special-education students were stuck on buses after midnight.

“Working with @NYCMayor and @NYPDnews to get bus with special education children home in the Bronx from Manhattan,” city councilman Ben Kallos said on Twitter at 12:30 a.m. “Children remain in transit for more than 10 hours without a bathroom or food.”

About six inches of snow paralyzed the city on Thursday evening, backing up traffic across the boroughs for hours as city streets went unplowed and tree limbs were downed.
May be congestion is a reason. Adding towers in NYC, Businesses with tax relief... Amazon?

Thousands of commuters were stranded outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, the busiest bus station in the country, after more than 1,100 scheduled buses were canceled. The line of people stretched a full city block.
The upper level of the George Washington Bridge — one of the busiest bridges in the world — turned into a parking lot after an icy 20-vehicle crash, with drivers abandoning their cars.
The New York region was all but paralyzed by an early winter storm that led to recriminations and second-guessing Friday about what exactly went wrong. Even grizzled commuters said they had never endured such a meltdown, venting their fury at those in charge of running buses and trains and clearing highways.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said that plows and salt spreaders would be out all night to clear roads before the morning commute. “First storm of the year hit hard and right at rush hour, downing trees and causing delays.

The Throne Hall
The new Capital of Egypt is being built on 170,000 acres about 28 miles east of Cairo and nearly twice its size. Construction began in 2016, and the first of its forecast 6.5 million residents are scheduled to move there next year. Cairo is already bursting at the seams and will grow to 40 million by 2050.

The new city will house the presidency, Cabinet, parliament and ministries. Planners promise a 21-mile-long public park, an airport, an opera house, a sports complex and 20 skyscrapers, including Africa's highest, at 345 meters.
Many government buildings in Cairo, for example, are palaces and mansions confiscated by the socialist government of the 1950s and 1960s. In theory, they could be renovated and turned into museums or hotels, proponents argue. But then, many such empty architectural treasures are already left to fall apart or even torn down.

The number of fires Cal Fire has responded to since January—7,000—is fairly average, but the size and ferocity is astonishing. So far in 2018, those fires have scorched an unprecedented 1.3 million acres—five times the five-year average.

Michael Avenatti has been arrested for domestic violence, police said. Avenatti was booked on a charge of domestic violence with injuries, according to booking records obtained by ABC Station KABC.
The alleged domestic violence incident could dash Avenatti's prospects as a potential insurgent Democratic candidate and clash with the image he has presented of himself as an advocate for women.
Avenatti and his client Julie Swetnick, who alleged in a sworn affidavit that she was gang-raped at a 1982 party attended by Brett M. Kavanaugh, have been referred to the Justice Department for a potential criminal probe.

The Vermont Democratic Party canceled Avenatti's appearances for Friday and Saturday following his arrest, and it will refund all ticket sales, said Christopher Di Mezzo, the party's communications director.
