The Food and Drug Administration is asking manufacturers of over-the-counter anti-diarrhea treatments to change the way they package their products to curb abuse by people with drug addictions.

The products, readily available in supermarkets and drugstores, are safe when used at the recommended maximum daily dose of four 2-milligram tablets. But in large quantities, the agency warned, these products can cause dangerous, irregular heartbeats and other problems potentially resulting in death.
Loperamide is sometimes referred to as “the poor man's methadone.” In large quantities, it induces a cheap, mild high and relieves withdrawal symptoms for drugs like hydrocodone, morphine or heroin.

Nashville mayor Megan Barry admitted to having an affair with the former head of her security detail.

"Today, I have acknowledged publicly that I have engaged in an extramarital affair with the former head of my security detail," Barry, elected in 2015, said in a statement. "I accept full responsibility for the pain I have caused my family and his. I am so sorry to my husband Bruce, who has stood by me in my darkest moments and remains committed to our marriage, just as I am committed to repairing the damage I have done."

The Media got one more subject of sex, the favorite to fill the air with.

Hostess Brands, Inc. is a bakery company formed in June 2013. It owns several bakeries in the United States that produce snack cakes under the Hostess and Dolly Madison brand names.

The company, which makes Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos, is providing its employees one-time payments of $1,250 -- with $750 in cash and $500 in the form of a 401(k) contribution. In taking the step, Hostess cited last month's tax legislation, which slashed the rate for U.S. corporations.

The employee perks come after a painful history for Hostess's workforce. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and was temporarily shut down, sending all of its employees packing. Hostess was resurrected in a deal orchestrated by Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., but with a fraction of its former staff.

While a statement was released from Daniels earlier denying any affair, she appeared to hint on Kimmel's show that she did not sign it.

The Media is looking for something ..... and an affair would be the savior for many of the news people. This doesn't happen in France, Norway, ....

Swiss voters rejected by a wide margin a proposal to introduce a guaranteed basic income for everyone living in the wealthy country after an uneasy debate about the future of work at a time of increasing automation.

Supporters had said introducing a monthly income of 2,500 Swiss francs per adult and 625 francs per child under 18  would promote human dignity and public service.

Opponents, including the government, said it would cost too much and weaken the economy.
Four out of five voters opposed the bold social experiment launched by Basel café and allies in a vote under the Swiss system of direct democracy.

Conservative Switzerland is the first country to hold a national referendum on an unconditional basic income, but others including Finland are examining similar plans as societies ponder a world in which robots replace humans in the workforce.
Employers also heaved a sigh of relief that Switzerland, where unemployment is only around 3.5 percent, had not become the first country to embrace such a path-breaking measure.
