Cueta..

About 60,000 migrants crossed from Morocco into Spain’s tiny Ceuta territory in the past 24 hours, Ceuta’s president said Friday, a figure that is equivalent to 70% of the population of the city in North Africa.   At least 57 migrants died on the journey.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez visited Ceuta on Friday and condemned the border breach, which he described as “a violation of Spain’s territorial integrity.”
Sánchez blamed human smugglers for the crisis, saying they “deceive so many young people and ultimately lead many of them to their deaths,” whether in the ocean or in the city.
The Spanish Interior Ministry released its own figures.   48,300 had already returned to Morocco by Friday evening, with hundreds more going back by the hour.    “It’s chaotic.”

Indictment..

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s former senior adviser, Dr. David Morens, was indicted on federal charges for allegedly using a personal Gmail account to hide COVID-19 research communications and evade public records laws

Dr. Morens was indicted on counts including obstruction of justice and conspiracy.

Prosecutors state he intentionally circumvented the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by moving government-related discussions to personal email.

Investigators highlighted emails where Morens wrote that he used Gmail because his National Institutes of Health (NIH) email was constantly FOIA-requested.

According to reporting by PBS News, the charges allege he concealed or destroyed records tied to COVID-19 origins and research grants.
The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic scrutinized a trove of Morens' emails, alleging a "secret back channel" used to downplay the lab leak theory and manage grants for EcoHealth Alliance.
Oversight leaders, including those referenced by the Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, investigated whether federal archiving rules were violated.

E Bays..

EBay and three former top   executives agreed to pay a landmark $55.7 million civil settlement to David and Ina Steiner, a Massachusetts couple who were the victims of a bizarre and terrifying corporate cyberstalking campaign.

The harassment began in August 2019 after high-level executives at eBay became infuriated by critical coverage of the e-commerce giant published in the Steiners' online trade newsletter, EcommerceBytes
In retaliation, James Baugh and six members of the security launched an intense online and in-person scare campaign.
The group anonymously mailed packages to the couple's home containing live cockroaches, fly larvae, live spiders, a funeral wreath, a fetal pig, and a bloody Halloween pig mask. They also sent a book titled Surviving Loss of a Spouse.

The conspirators sent pornographic magazines addressed to David Steiner but intentionally delivered them to their neighbors. They also created fraudulent Craigslist posts listing the couple's home as an open nightly destination for "singles, couples, and swingers".

EBay employees traveled to the couple's town of Natick, Massachusetts, physically stalked them in a rental van, and even attempted to install a GPS tracking device on their vehicle.

Abolish..

House Speaker Mike Johnson raised an alarm after DSA co-chair Megan Romer acknowledged the political group's policy positions.
On Sunday, Democratic Socialists of America's national co-chair Megan Romer appeared on Fox News Sunday, where Shannon Bream questioned her about the political group's policy priorities. During one segment, Bream asked Romer to answer "true or false" to several ideas that are part of the DSA platform.
Bream asked, "Abolish the Senate," to which Romer responded, "True." Bream then asked, "Replace the presidency and Supreme Court," and the DSA co-chair replied, "Yep." The Fox host followed up with "Abolish ICE," to which Romer responded, "Absolutely." Bream then asked whether the DSA wanted to "defund the Pentagon," and Romer replied, "Absolutely."

Hot..

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s disclosure Tuesday that a software glitch caused her state to mistakenly add 6,600 non-citizens to its voter rolls — and that about 400 of them improperly voted in recent years — has given Republicans something to grab onto in their long-running campaign against non-citizen voting.

President Donald Trump and others have argued the episode proves that non-citizen voting is a problem. And they’ve sought to use it to urge Congress to pass the long-stalled “SAVE America Act,” which targets non-citizen voting, including by making registrants provide proof of citizenship.
