Creticized..

Law professor Jonathan Turley criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James for seeking to fine former President Donald Trump hundreds of millions of dollars for allegedly inflating the value of his real estate portfolio.

Turley pointed out that no one lost money and banks did not complain, yet James is pursuing a “nuclear option” against Trump

“She is basically trying to end the role of the corporation of New York, taking away certificates and imposing a quarter of a billion dollars in damages for money that was not lost.”

“So these guys get on the stand and they said, look, you know, estimates differ. You don’t rely on those estimates,” Turley continued.

“You rely on your own estimates, but they also said we made money here and then we tried to get more loans with the Trumps. They described Trump as being a whale client, someone you really want and the disconnect of that testimony with what James is seeking is really breathtaking.”

Is that wasting tax payer's money for .......?  Just a thought.

Gitmo..

Inside Guantánamo Bay- abuse and torture remain an indelible stain on the United States’ history

Guantánamo Bay detention centre – a symbol of torture, rendition and indefinite detention without charge or trial – is over 20 years old.

21 years after the opening of an offshore detention facility specifically designed to evade the rule of law, the US government continues to detain 35 men inside the Guantánamo Bay detention camp.

Of these 35 men, most have never even been charged with a crime. None has had a fair trial. Many of the detainees were tortured.

‘Very few of these men have ever been charged with a crime, and absolutely none has faced a fair trial’ - Agnès Callamard.

Occupied..

Israel is holding over 1,200 detainees — nearly all of them Palestinians — without charge or trial, the highest number in over three decades, an Israeli human rights group said Tuesday.
The detainees, 99% of whom are Palestinians, are held under Israel’s policy of “administrative detention,” without trial and under allegations that Israeli authorities keep secret.
The detentions can range from a few months to years — and authorities often extend them for unknown reasons, according to Jessica Montell, the executive director of Hamoked, the rights group that published the figures.
Israel says its activities in the occupied territories are meant to stamp out militancy and thwart future attacks.     (AP)

Human..

The U.S. has made it clear to Israel [seven weeks after the war] that it expects the increased levels of humanitarian aid and fuel entering Gaza during the pause in fighting to continue even when the temporary ceasefire ends, two senior U.S. officials told reporters.

During the pause, which was extended by two days on Monday, there has been a significant increase in the number of aid trucks allowed to enter Gaza, including in the northern parts of the enclave. This increase has also included additional fuel and cooking gas.

The president is not talking about humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians, or the indiscriminate bombing that killed many civilians.

Israel shut down Water, food, and fuels to 2.5 million humans in Gaza.

Just a thought.
