Warlike..

The only US president to complete his term without war, military attack or occupation has called the United States "the most warlike nation in the history of the world."

Jimmy Carter revealed that he had recently spoken with President Donald Trump about China.

Carter, said Trump was worried about China's growing economy and expressed concern that "China is getting ahead of us."

Carter, told Trump that much of China's success was due to its peaceful foreign policy.

Carter then referred to the US as "the most warlike nation in the history of the world," a result of the US forcing other countries to "adopt our American principles."

"Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?" Carter asked. "None, and we have stayed at war."

China has been at peace with its neighbors and the world.

Empire..

Never in U.S. history has the country had a president with the voluminous paper trail that followed Biden into the White House, since the Vietnam War.

The picture that emerges is of a man who is dedicated to the U.S. as an Empire, who believes that preserving U.S. national interests and “prestige” on the global stage outweighs considerations of morality or even at times the deaths of innocent people.

It also reveals a politician who consistently claims to hold bedrock principles but who often strays from those positions in support of a partisan agenda or because he wants a policy adopted regardless of the hypocrisy or contradictions. Nowhere is this dynamic more pronounced than on U.S. wars.

Parade..

A parade of senior American policy makers is traveling to Beijing on diplomatic missions to mend tattered relations between the United States and China. The U.S. climate envoy John Kerry is expected in Beijing on Sunday, a week after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was in town. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited a month ago.

Xi’s government was so eager to paint Yellen’s visit in a positive light that it laid things on a bit thick. Referring to a rainbow that appeared over Beijing upon Yellen’s arrival, Premier Li Qiang told Yellen that the U.S. and China can see “more rainbows” after a period of “wind and rain.” With the U.S. and its allies moving to “de-risk,” or reduce their reliance on China.

Xi and his team seem to be in the mood to chat, charm, and change minds. But they will never forget the constant bad mouthing of China.  Just a thought.

Duo..

Beans could be nature's perfect food. These little powerhouses are packed with vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, according to 2021 research in Nutrients

But what really takes them to the next level is their unique combo of plant protein and fiber. At the same time, beans contain little, if any, saturated fat, and they are cholesterol-free, per the US Dry Bean Council

Beans' magical duo of protein and fiber has multiple benefits, including weight control.

"Getting more of these nutrients in your diet promotes satiety and helps keep you fuller for longer periods," says Yanni Papanikolaou, M.P.H., a nutrition researcher and president of Nutritional Strategies, Inc.

"Accumulating evidence suggests that people who eat higher amounts of protein and fiber also have healthier BMIs," he says. Most recently, a 2023 Nutrients study of 15,185 people found that, over the course of a decade, bean eaters gained less weight–and belly fat–compared to people who didn't eat beans.
