History..

At least 38 human rights organizations have publicly opposed the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine, where the weapons have already been used in the war to devastating effect. “These are already all over the country and will need to be cleaned up.

The Biden administration approved the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine on Friday, sparking concern from human rights groups and some congressional lawmakers over the weapon’s ability to harm civilians and children long after the bombs have fallen.

The weapons are banned by more than 100 countries because the submunitions spread out imprecisely, often fail to detonate and remain as explosive hazards for decades.

History repeat itself.

Advancing..

Russian troops are advancing in four areas of the front line in eastern Ukraine
amid "fierce fighting", Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister Ganna Maliar said on Sunday.   "Fierce fighting everywhere.
Who is benefiting out of this war?
The Western Democracy countries with inflation reached over 10% and some reached 20% are providing weapons to the Ukraine and buying new ones from
the USA.
The US provided the foundation for the war and a $100 billions so far for weapons. With that, classified document released (without Permission) showed some info about the war.
Germany had to buy US Natural gas at three folds the Russian prices.
President Biden said  that a food shortage is "gonna be real" following the
sanctions placed on Russia by the U.S. government and Western Democracies.
Who is benefitting out of this war?   Just a thought.

Visions..

President Barack Obama’s foreign policy mantra was, in brief, “Don’t do stupid shit.”

In Obama’s rendition of history, many former presidents too hastily initiated conflicts abroad with little regard for the predictable second- and third-order consequences.

The fact that poor foreign policy outcomes sometimes still occur indicates that stupid shit isn’t nearly as recognizable from the outset as Obama suggested.

Few Americans could have imagined the deaths of over 5,400 U.S. soldiers across the Greater Middle East nearly half caused by roadside bombs since war planners didn’t anticipate fighting multiple insurgencies.

Fewer could have envisioned the staggering costs, among them: a surveillance state that recast the American regime of rights; the calcification of the imperial presidency; compromises of national conscience from Abu Ghraib to Guantanamo Bay; $6.4 trillion and counting in borrowed expenses; and, so far, 335,745 overseas civilian deaths (9/11 times over a hundred).

Harsh..

Of all the economic rifts between the United States and China, one felt personally by American executives is what they describe as the difficult, even hostile, conditions they face doing business in China.

Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen laid bare those concerns by leveling a forceful objection in Beijing to punitive measures the Chinese government has taken against foreign firms, as tension between the two nations has escalated.

Surrounded by executives from some of the most powerful American companies, Ms. Yellen criticized the Chinese government’s harsh treatment of companies with foreign ties and its recent decision to impose export controls on certain critical minerals.

She suggested that such actions justify the Biden administration’s efforts to make U.S. manufacturers less reliant on China.

This may be a failed trip right from the start.  Just a thought.

Leqembi...

FDA  fully approves 'novel' Alzheimer’s disease drug Leqembi.
The medicine will be covered by Medicare. The drug works by reducing amyloid plaques that form in the brain, a defining pathophysiological feature of the disease," the statement added.
The FDA disclosed that patients who take anticoagulant medication, or blood thinners, are at increased risk of hemorrhages with Leqembi.
Leqembi is also only approved for use by Alzheimer's patients in the mild dementia or cognitive impairment stage of the disease.

Control..

Oct 2r, 2021, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told CNN that the U.S. had not lost control of inflation. “On a 12-month basis, the inflation rate will remain high into next year, because of what’s already happened. But I expect improvement by the second half of next year,” she said.

Later on:   Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen conceded that interest rates may have to rise to keep a lid on the burgeoning growth of the U.S. economy brought on in part by trillions of dollars in government stimulus spending.  Just a thought.

Yellen..

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will travel to Beijing later this week for meetings with senior Chinese officials, the Treasury Department said Sunday, as the U.S. tries to ease friction between the two countries.

Yellen’s trip, scheduled for Thursday to Sunday, follows a visit last month by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. President Joe Biden met with Xi in November.

While in Beijing, Secretary Yellen will discuss with [People’s Republic of China] officials the importance for our countries — as the world’s two largest economies — to responsibly manage our relationship, communicate directly about areas of concern, and work together to address global challenges,” Treasury said in a statement.

The President, Biden,  said Xi as a dictator. So what are we expecting here?
