Diet..

A diet that is rich in seafood, fruit, vegetables, nuts and olive oil may lower the risk of dementia, a new study suggests.
An analysis of data from more than 60,000 seniors revealed that choosing to follow a Mediterranean diet reduces a person’s likelihood of developing dementia by nearly one quarter, even among those with genes that put that at greater risk, according to the report published Monday in the medical journal BMC Medicine.

“The main take home message from this study is that, even for individuals with a higher genetic risk, consuming a more Mediterranean-like diet could reduce the likelihood of developing dementia,” said the study’s lead author, Oliver Shannon, a lecturer in human nutrition and aging at Newcastle University.
Mediterranean diet is filled with healthy plant-based foods such as vegetables, nuts and legumes. It's rich in whole grains, fruits and olive oil and fish.

Cash..

Silicon Valley Bank, the nation's 16th-largest bank, failed because its managers made a textbook mistake, according to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
Summers, a Harvard University professor who served in both the Clinton and Obama administrations, said Monday the bank "committed one of the most elementary errors in banking: borrowing money in the short term and investing in the long term."
SVB collapsed Friday after depositors ran on the bank, which didn't have cash on hand to cover their withdrawals. It was the second-biggest bank failure in U.S. history and the largest since Washington Mutual went under in 2008.
Are there others in the industry who did the same?  Just a thought.

Old Stuff..

In the 1980s, Switzerland acquired Rapier surface-to-air missiles. Almost 50 years later it was decided to dispose of them.

Switzerland began decommissioning Rapier in 2022, although the air defence systems were modernized in 2007. A total of 60 surface-to-air missile systems will be scrapped in four phases. The first batch has already been destroyed.

Switzerland will adhere to a policy of neutrality.

The surface-to-air missile system was developed by the British Aircraft Corporation in the 1960s. So it passed its time.

How much weapons have been decommissioned here in the USA? for what's worth.

Black Sea..

Russian fighter jet struck the propeller of a U.S. surveillance drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday in a “brazen violation of international law,” causing American forces to bring down the unmanned aerial vehicle, the U.S. said.

Causing American forces to bring down the unmanned aerial vehicle, the U.S. said.

But Russia insisted its warplanes didn’t hit the MQ-9 Reaper drone. Instead, it said the drone maneuvered sharply and crashed into the water following an encounter with Russian fighter jets that had been scrambled to intercept it near Crimea.

Let us be transparent as much as we can. Let us think of how to promote Peace than War.  Just a thought..

Landing..

The financial crises is not over yet. The Federal reserve still raising intrest rate to combat inflation. Inflation is still high because of the varieous policies regarding energy, fosil fuel, and the saga will continue for another two years. Let us pray for soft landing. Just a thought.

Banking..

Compelled..

President Joe Biden has made fighting climate change a central pillar of his presidency. He's promised — and the White House says he's delivered — more to protect the climate than any other US president.
But he just broke a key campaign pledge to stop all new oil drilling on federal land in a major way.
On Monday, the Biden administration officially approved one of the largest-ever drilling projects on federal land: the $8 billion ConocoPhillips Willow oil project, which is expected to produce more than 600 million barrels of crude oil over three decades in Alaska's North Slope.
While the administration has previously been forced by the courts or Congress to approve some oil and gas leasing on federal land, Biden has rarely violated his campaign promise of "no more drilling on federal lands, period" without being compelled to do so.
Biden's promise not to allow fossil fuel drilling backfired in high prices of gas, Inflation, high interest rate, followed by the collapse of few banks for now.
