According to a report from ESPN, there was a very low turnout at a welcome home party for the longtime WNBA star.

"BRITTNEY GRINER'S HOMECOMING was celebrated Monday night in front of 20 people at University Baptist Church in Waco. Baylor is on winter break. The church livestreamed the event," ESPN reported.  

"Apparently there was a homecoming celebration for Britney Griner in Waco and only 20 people showed up," Tyler Zed tweeted. "Talk about embarrassing."
Wonder why?

Griner’s lifestyle as an openly gay woman in a town that holds onto “traditional” Christian values could have caused the lack of participation. Additionally, she was arrested in Russia for having cannabis vape cartridges in her bag and was released before other American prisoners.  Just a thought.

It could be possible to spot signs of dementia up to nine years before diagnosis, a new study has found.

“The impairments were often subtle, but across a number of aspects of cognition. This is a step being able to screen people who are at greatest risk - for example, people over 50 or those who have high blood pressure or do not do enough exercise - and intervene at an earlier stage to help them reduce their risk.”

For the study, researchers analysed data from the UK Biobank database and pinpointed problem solving and number recall as two of the early signs patients could develop dementia.

“It is increasingly clear that the best chance to affect the course of the diseases which cause dementia lies in intervening at their earliest stages.

Kylian Mbappe is a World Cup heavyweight. The young Frenchman has quite the knack of playing his best football on the biggest stage. 

He became the second player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final when he almost single-handedly dragged France back into the contest (twice) against Argentina. 

Unfortunately, this time, it wasn’t to be for the 23-year-old.  

Mbappe will be back, though. With 12 World Cup finals goals, the record of all-time top scorer, 16 goals set by Miroslav Klose, will be the next milestone in his sights.

G-7 nations agreed to impose a limit on Russian oil in September, and have been working on the details ever since. At the time, the EU's energy chief, Kadri Simson, she was hoping China and India would support the price cap, too.

Both nations stepped up their purchases of Russian oil following Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, benefiting from discounted rates. Their participation is seen as essential if the restrictions on Russian oil are to work.

India's petroleum minister, Shri Hardeep S Puri, said he has a "moral duty" to his country's consumers. "We will buy oil from Russia, we will buy from wherever," he added.

As such, there are growing doubts about the true impact of the restrictions on Russia.
