Failure...
"Today I requested and received the resignation of Michael Stenger, the Senate Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper, effective immediately," McConnell said in a statement.
Deputy sergeant-at-arms Jennifer Hemingway will become the acting SAA.
McConnell's announcement is the latest sign of housecleaning among top officials after a massive security failure at the Capitol on Wednesday when rioters were able to breach the perimeter and force their way into the building, eventually making it to both the House and Senate chambers.
Apparently the capital police were not ready to protect the capital. Just a thought.
Long Term...
"The antibody decay generated by the vaccine in humans goes down very slowly," he said in remarks quoted by Reuters. "We believe there will be protection potentially for a couple of years." He didn't offer a more specific time forecast.

Disgrace...
“It was a life-and-death betrayal of the American people,” Biden added, speaking at a campaign event in Warren, Michigan. “It’s beyond despicable. It’s a dereliction of duty. It’s a disgrace.”
US President Barack Obama has said failing to prepare for the aftermath of the ousting of Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi was the worst mistake of his presidency.
He said, however, that intervening in Libya had been "the right thing to do".
The US and other countries carried out strikes designed to protect civilians during the 2011 uprising.
Estimates of deaths in the Libyan War vary with figures from 2,500 to 25,000 given between March 2 and October 2, 2011.[1] An exact figure is hard to ascertain, partly due to a media clamp-down.
Some conservative estimates have been released. Some of the killing "may amount to crimes against humanity" according to the United Nations Security Council[2] and as of March 2011, is under investigation by the International Criminal Court.
Donate...
President Donald Trump has donated $100,000 of his 2020 salary to the National Park Service to help pay for repairs on national monuments.
It marked the second time in three years that Trump has turned over part of his earnings to the park service. In 2017, the president donated $78,333 to help pay for the restoration of a historic house at the Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland (Greenwire, Oct. 23, 2017).
"I promised YOU I would not take a dime of salary as your President," Trump tweeted Friday night. "I donate the entire $400,000! It is my honor to give $100,000 to @NatlParkService to help repair and restore our GREAT National Monuments. So important to our American History! Thank You!!"
His tweet included a photo of the check, which was dated July 13.
Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, who oversees the 419 national parks, followed up with his own tweet. He praised his boss and noted that news of the president's donation of his quarterly salary came only days after Trump signed the Great American Outdoors Act, a law that will create a national trust fund to begin paying for a $20 billion backlog in maintenance projects on public lands.
With Nancy Pelosi's continue attack on the president, would she just donate one year salary to a good cause and continue with the attacks. Just a thought.

Dropped...
There was a tragedy in Brooklyn on Monday after a vehicle dropping off kids at school apparently hit two of them, killing one.
The two boys were being dropped off at Yeshiva Ketana on 67th Street in Bensonhurst when they were hit. The driver left and police sources told CBS2’s Alice Gainer he apparently didn’t know he had struck them.
It wasn’t just a car passing through, though. Police said the two boys, ages 4 and 6, were struck by the very vehicle dropping them off at school. Police sources said it was a privately operated blue-colored multi-passenger van transporting kids door to door to the school.
The 4-year-old died, while the 6-year-old is in serious condition at Maimonides Medical Center. Sad story indeed.

The gold medal for best 2021 diet went to the Mediterranean diet for the fourth year in a row, according to rankings announced Monday by U.S. News & World Report.
The Mediterranean diet focuses on plant-based foods -- fruits, vegetables, and grains -- to fill the bulk of your nutritional needs. Add salads, steamed or grilled vegetables, fresh-cut fruit and a handful of nuts to your daily diet in place of fried or sugary snacks and side dishes. Pack a bag of grapes or apple slices for your midafternoon snack, and fill up on salad before the main course at each meal.
Try to stick to organic, healthy options rather than prepackaged foods..
The Mediterranean diet consists of minimal red meat. Rather, vegetables and whole grains should serve as the bulk of most meals, with seafood and moderate portions of lean poultry for iron, B vitamins, and other nutrients most easily absorbed from animal sources.
Though it is alright to incorporate a bit of red meat into the diet, like any healthy eating plan, it is best to avoid processed meats.

An infamous McDonald’s restaurant in New York City has closed, to the chagrin of tourists, college students and hungry locals. It’s the latest restaurant casualty of the coronavirus pandemic that’s devastated hundreds of businesses – small and large – as the Big Apple continues to ban indoor dining, allowing only for takeout and delivery options.
End of an era" a fan tweeted on Jan. 3, sharing a photo of the now-shuttered restaurant at West Third Street and Sixth Avenue, in a post that's been liked over 3,600 times. Customers from far and wide eulogized the late, great Mickey D's location, sharing memories of late-night orders and drunken escapades, Time Out New York first reported.
