In 2013 former Canadian beauty Queen Rachel Lapierre had a huge win on the lottery.
Rachel told the Journal de Montreal: “In 2013, I bought a lottery ticket, which I never do”. she wasn’t expecting to win anything but hit the jackpot and ended up netting £605 (or C$1000) a week for life in the Quebecois lottery “Gagnant à vie”, or “winner for life”.
I grew up in a poor environment and saw misery and sadness. I told myself if we all made a small gesture, the world would be better.
Within 8 weeks Rachel had left her job as a Nurse and decided to set up and launch a charity called “Le Book Humanitaire”…

After refusing to serve Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on June 22, the Red Hen restaurant grew notorious, prompting a national debate over social decency in an era of sharp political divides. Protesters flocked to the restaurant, and it stayed closed for nearly two weeks.
Ahead of the scheduled reopening at 5 p.m., protesters and hopeful customers gathered on the bucolic street corner outside the Red Hen, just across from the Stonewall Jackson House.

Maxine Waters drew criticism from both sides of the aisle after she encouraged protesters to publicly confront and “push back on” Trump administration officials.
Waters maintains she did not intend to "incite violence" by her comments and says Trump and others are deliberately mischaracterizing her words.
Schumer said Waters' call for the “harassment of political opponents”  was “not American.”
“Crazy Maxine Waters, said by some to be one of the most corrupt people in politics, is rapidly becoming, together with Nancy Pelosi, the FACE of the Democrat Party. Her ranting and raving, even referring to herself as a wounded animal, will make people flee the Democrats!” Trump tweeted.

Finding a soulmate is already pretty tough, so  Facebook (FB) is launching a dating application later this year, and users are already perceiving a rise in "catfishers" -- crooks.

Take a few minutes to do a Google image search.  If it's a photo that comes up multiple times with many names, be warned.

Con artists are reluctant to talk on the phone or meet in person.  The athletic Midwestern hunk you're corresponding with is actually a skinny Nigerian telemarketer with a heavy accent.
A con artist is likely to contact you multiple times a day and fall head over heels in love with you within weeks.

A woman who climbed up to the robes of the Statue of Liberty to protest the separation of migrant families was taken into custody after a standoff with police on the Fourth of July.
Authorities had tried to talk the woman down but she refused to leave. For nearly three hours, she crossed the base of the statue, at times sitting in the folds of the statue's dress and under Lady Liberty's sandal. The woman was identified as Therese Patricia Okoumou.
She is facing charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct, interfering with government functions, and perhaps ICE itself.
