Compassion...

The heart of New Yorkers and their rush to attend to the injured.      A word of comfort, a soft touch, a word of hope for recovery, standing by the victim until the professionals arrived.

A culture of help, assistance, compassion and support. A culture of appreciation for Life, regardless of who you are, and what your views are. Basic humans decency with wonder response to evil hiding behind a deceptive Ideology.

The car, a 2009 Honda Accord, struck 23 pedestrians, killing Alyssa Elsman, an 18-year-old tourist from Michigan, law enforcement sources and city officials said. Elsman graduated from Portage Central High School in 2016, her former principal said.
"Alyssa was the type of person who seemed very shy and reserved when you first met her, but once you started talking to her you realized she was smart, funny and engaging," principal Eric Alburtus said in a statement. "She will be deeply missed by the staff and students here."
The statement said the school will have grief counselors available on Friday "to help any students and staff who need support in processing this loss.   [ ABCNews.com]

The Burmese python is native to Southeast Asia. It was first discovered in the Everglades in the late 1970s and began appearing on water management district land in 2005 an invasive species biologist with the water management district.

The snakes were likely introduced after a significant release either accidental or intentional.

The Everglades, known as the river of grass, is a vast area with a climate perfect for the pythons to hide and thrive. There are no precise population figures, but there are believed to be thousands living in the ecosystem in Miami-Dade County.

A 2012 study by Virginia Tech University, Davidson College and the US Geological Survey found that pythons caused the populations of rabbits and foxes to vanish and the numbers of raccoons,  opossums and bobcats to drop by as much as 99% in the Everglades.

So these Asian things are taking over, killing other species jobs and existence.
It all fits with Trump war on Immigration.   Just a thought.
