Worshipers..

Left-wing activists disrupted an event at a Jewish temple in New York this week while Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi was speaking, protesting his vote in favor of a government spending bill that included increased funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The demonstrators, affiliated with the activist group Climate Defiance, interrupted Suozzi at the temple on Long Island, unleashing a barrage of crude theatrics and profane insults, according to the New York Post.

"We confronted Congressman Tom Suozzi," Climate Defiance posted to X. "He is one of seven Democrats casting the decisive votes to increase ICE funding by $10,000,000,000.

Comment:

Leave the places of worship with its peaceful attendees alone. Just a thought.

The new memo was issued by acting ICE director Todd Lyons and submitted to a federal court in Minnesota. Its contents were first reported by The New York Times.
The memo suggests the rules are designed to give ICE greater flexibility to quickly arrest unauthorized immigrants who are not the original targets of an operation but are nonetheless encountered and found to have violated U.S. immigration law.
Those detentions are known as "collateral arrests," and typically involve immigrants accused of civil immigration violations but who lack serious criminal histories or any at all.
Under U.S. immigration law, immigration officers typically need an administrative warrant before making an arrest. Those warrants are signed by employees of ICE, typically agency supervisors, and not judges, unlike judicial warrants.
But the law allows immigration agents to conduct warrantless arrests if they suspect someone is in the U.S. illegally and determine that person is likely to escape before a warrant can be issued.
Through his memo, Lyons broadened the interpretation of "likely to escape," " That prior interpretation of "likely to escape" was based on a determination that someone was a "flight risk," or unlikely to comply with immigration proceedings, like attending court hearings.
Just a thought.

Half Price..

In early February 2025, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer held a press conference in his Manhattan office where he used an avocado, a lime, and a bottle of Corona beer as props to warn that proposed tariffs by President Donald Trump on Mexico and Canada would increase consumer prices.
Schumer was addressing new tariffs on   Mexico and Canada, which he labeled a "Trump Super Bowl tax," noting that these items are key staples for Super Bowl parties.

"It's going to affect your guac, because what is guacamole made of? Avocados," Schumer said. He added that the tariffs would impact "higher prices for New Yorkers, higher prices for Americans".

Schumer's visual demonstration was criticized by comedian Jon Stewart, who mocked the tactic on The Daily Show by questioning the effectiveness of having the Senate leader explain that guacamole is made of avocados.
