The Energy Department concluded with "low confidence" that the Covid-19 pandemic "likely" originated from a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China, according to a classified report delivered to key lawmakers on the House and Senate Intelligence committees, two sources with direct knowledge told NBC News.
Comments:
The intelligence committee is not sure /not committed, to this decision that the virus escaped from China's Lab, two years after the fact.
When President Trump said it, the Media went crazy with accusations while they new about it.
Why is it classified? and if it is, why is it leaking now?

Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Saturday that Germany wants to get India to support, or at least not block, Western efforts to isolate Russia for waging a devastating war against Ukraine.
Following his talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Scholz stressed that developing countries were being negatively impacted by energy and food shortages resulting from the war and hopes that India will help secure critical supplies to Asia, Africa and the Americas.
Modi maintained his cautious approach and said India wanted the conflict to be ended through dialogue and diplomacy. “India is ready to make its contribution to any peace initiative,” he added.
He has refrained from any overt criticism of Russia as Moscow is a major supplier of arms, oil and India’s other economic needs.
Comment:
The continue support of the Ukraine before and after the beginning of the war, the Sanctions placed on Russia which disturbed the world flow of economics, has caused tremendous inflation that impacted poor countries and some of the EU countries as well.
The West should refrain from placing Military bases on the borders of Russia.

While Biden’s trip to Kyiv was obviously a show of support for Ukraine and a nod to Russia that the United States is not giving up, it may also have been organized with the intention of delivering some harsh truths directly to Kyiv.
With the Republicans now controlling the House of Representatives, and the Debt Ceiling hit its max, Biden can’t pass Ukraine funding bills quite as easily as before. The United States is also running low on some weapons and ammunition, and has been for months,
The White House must communicate this truth with Kyiv, and this visit may have been an opportunity to do that. It may also have been a chance for Joe Biden to explain his concerns about delivering long-range missiles and fighter jets.

Jill and I were deeply saddened by the news of the devastating earthquakes that have thus far claimed thousands of lives in Turkiye and Syria. My Administration has been working closely with our NATO Ally Turkiye, and I authorized an immediate U.S. response.
Today, our hearts and our deepest condolences are with all those who have lost precious loved ones, those who are injured, and those who saw their homes and businesses destroyed.

The 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Monday evening had its epicenter in the Defne district of Turkey's Hatay province, which was of the area's worst affected by the Feb. 6 magnitude 7.8 quake that killed nearly 46,000 people in the two countries.
Same time, the US and the west have sanctions on Syria in the past 15 years which is destroying its economy. The US military occupies one third of the country of Syria for one reason or another.

Despite pressure to actively intervene against Assad, the Obama administration focused on aiding supposedly moderate insurgents, with little success. One program spent a half billion dollars to train fewer than threescore fighters.
Radicals hid their views in order to receive arms from America; supposedly democratic forces fought with and sometimes surrendered to Islamists, along with their equipment.
Moreover, reported the New York Times: “Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al‐Assad are going to hard‐line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster, according to American officials and Middle Eastern diplomats.”
One of the indirect beneficiaries of U.S. aid was Jabhat al‐Nusra, Syria’s al‐Qaeda affiliate. [Article by Cato Institute.]

The EU said she was “disappointed” by a decision that Swiss authorities took last week against using seized Russian assets to assist with Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
So far, the Swiss has moved in lockstep with the European Union in freezing assets of high-profile Russians linked to President Vladimir Putin. It currently has about 7.5 billion Swiss francs ($8.1 billion) in frozen assets.

A new study suggests that it's time to turn some attention to social determinants of health, too.
This new brain health study found that education level, income, race and depression status, in tandem with healthy lifestyle habits, play a surprisingly large role in the potential development of dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
You can't isolate one habit or factor and deem it the cause of cognitive decline.
Brain health is impacted substantially by personal well-being throughout the lifespan. This includes how secure someone feels at home, whether or not they're experiencing a mental health challenge like depression, their level of financial freedom, and how much they've been able to study to build up their "brain bank."

Immunity acquired from a Covid infection provides strong, lasting protection against the most severe outcomes of the illness, according to research published Thursday in The Lancet — protection, experts say, that’s on par with what’s provided through two doses of an mRNA vaccine.
Infection-acquired immunity cut the risk of hospitalization and death from a Covid reinfection by 88% for at least 10 months, the study found.
The study was the largest meta-analysis to date to look at immunity following infection. It included 65 studies from 19 countries and compared the risk of developing Covid again in people who had recovered from infections to people who hadn’t been infected through September. People who had hybrid immunity, or immunity from both infection and vaccination, were excluded.
While protection from severe disease remained high, people could be reinfected, particularly with an omicron subvariant, consistent with evidence that protection against having symptoms wanes faster than protection against hospitalization and death. That was rejected earlier and caused a lot of problems and wastefulness.
Just a thought.
