Vigor...

A review published in the journal Science explains the theory of "hybrid vigor immunity" in which the combination of natural immunity and vaccine-generated immunity results in a "larger-than-expected immune response."

For the concept of hybrid immunity, the combination would be of two types of stimulation to the immune system in the forms of natural infection and vaccination.

The authors of the review suggest that this could happen with immunity because a broader range of immune cells, including both B and T cells, could get activated.

"With prior infection, their antibodies are able to recognize numerous variants, but with the addition of the vaccine, they are able to generate a large number to have a stronger effect against the virus."

"Hybrid immunity, timing seems to be an important factor." What we have seen is that waiting six months does mount a better immune response later,"  "It seems that our immune system likes to rest and develop antibodies, and then mount a stronger response when it sees the same pathogen again later on."

When large cities that insists to get larger, here is some plan. Just a thought.

Da Vinci...

Several pieces of evidence suggest that the Renaissance Man was vegetarian. Several biographies attribute his diet preferences to his love for animals, in whom he saw “the image of the world”.

No wonder he was always surrounded by animals and was routinely known to buy caged birds only to set them free.

Issues...

Image is not related.

In New York real estate, money can usually buy you a modicum of happiness. But the residents of one of the city’s priciest—and tallest—residential towers are suing its developers for structural flaws they say have made their lives a living nightmare.

According to the board, shoddy workmanship and poor planning has led to flooding, stuck elevators, electrical explosions, and “horrible and obtrusive noise and vibration” caused by building sway.

The suit accuses CIM and Macklowe of “one of the worst examples of Sponsor malfeasance in the development of a luxury condominium in the history of New York City.”

The buildings’ elevators, programmed to slow down during high winds, have repeatedly shut down and trapped residents for hours “on multiple occasions.”

Every 12th floor is an unenclosed space, intended to allow air currents to pass through, decreasing wind resistance and cutting down on stress to the structure. But, according to the lawsuit, even CIM Group chair Richard Ressler, a fellow resident, admitted in “an unguarded moment” that the sound and vibration issues were “intolerable” and made it hard to sleep during bad weather.  Just a thought.

Civility...

New York's deadline for health care workers to be vaccinated in the state will take effect on Monday.   New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) has said she may tap the National Guard and put out a call to out-of-state health care workers to fill the roles of the unvaccinated people who could be out of work if they miss Monday's vaccine deadline, Reuters said.

That could mean declaring a state of emergency to allow health care professionals licensed outside of New York, as well as recent graduates and retirees, to practice there.
Other options include deploying medically trained National Guard members, partnering with the federal government to send Disaster Medical Assistance Teams to local health and medical systems and "exploring ways to expedite visa requests for medical professionals."
The state's labor department has also issued guidance clarifying that workers who are terminated because they refuse to be vaccinated will not be eligible for unemployment insurance, "absent a valid doctor-approved request for medical accommodation."
Creating Chaos in the medical field in the Midst of the crisis, Shortage of workers and gratitude for the burden they carried last year all through with minimal protection. That is a new governor working for you.

Eilish...

While 19-year-old Billie Eilish grew up vegetarian, she also turned vegan at the age of 12. In an interview with British Vogue, she talked about how she has been vegan for about seven years and doesn’t see herself switching to a different lifestyle.

“I learned about the dairy industry and the meat industry, which I already knew about. Once you know about that kind of thing and you see it, it's really hard to go back…I just can’t go on in my life knowing what’s going on in the animal world and not doing anything about it,” she said.

Clinton...

Former US President Bill Clinton is not just a vegetarian, but a vegan.

He changed his eating habits after undergoing a quadruple heart bypass, so he could live to be a grandfather.

“I am now the oldest person in my family for three generations—man or woman…I said, ‘You know, I think I’d like to hang around,'” PETA quoted him as saying.

Almond milk smoothies, green salads, quinoa, beans and other vegetables now make up most of his diet.

Better...

Desire..

The definition of a dictator: A person exercising absolute power, especially a ruler who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government without hereditary succession.

Recently Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo had the nerve to call the law enforcement officers who refused to enforce his unconstitutional rule to limit the number of people allowed in our homes. Maybe he should look up the definition and then look in the mirror.

Who fits the description better?

The law enforcement men and women who risk their lives on a daily basis or the power-hungry governor who wants to control every aspect of our lives?

Also, maybe if our state legislators had to live off unemployment like the rest of the people the governor has put out of work they would be more inclined to get back to work and do their jobs.

The time these two got together happily is when?!.. Just a thought.

Climate ...

The politicians now discover a new phrase to use, Climate Change. In other word what happened during Flooding of NYC due to 6 inches of rain, it is not my fault, it is all our faults because it is the Climate change.

Then after we say that, we have a New York City sewer system that can't absorb more than 1.5 inches of rain at a time, etc

But then, the politicians keep rezoning the city and open the door for skyscrapers on the same sewer system that was built in 1900. It doesn't matter, its Climate Change. In addition, the builders are good donners for political offices.

In Queens Boulevard, dividers were installed between service road and main road to prevent walking across the Blvd. The same dividers installed between one lane and another, became hazardous to those who are stock in one lane and left their cars unattended.

Congestion pricing, which additional taxes are placed on the public, rich and poor, to be wasted some place else. In the same time, offering Amazon three Billion dollars credit, and the best part of Long Island City, creating a hill on earth living condition for the people in the area and blame it on...whatever is popular then, Climate change.

Just a thought.

Smooth...

Vascular smooth muscle is under the influence of local (metabolic, autoregulatory and endothelial), reflex (autonomic nervous system), and hormonal (norepinephrine, epinephrine, angiotensin, and vasopressin) regulatory mechanisms.

At the onset of exercise, skeletal muscle fiber activation sets in motion a series of biochemical events that increase metabolic demand and produce cellular metabolites (adenosine}

These metabolites have their greatest influence on vascular smooth muscle of the smallest terminal arterioles and cause relaxation. The relaxation/dilation of the terminal arteriole reduces the perfusion pressure on the upstream arterioles and the vessels relax (autoregulation) in response.

Autoregulation increases blood flow which stimulates the release of endothelial derived relaxing factors. These events mediate a cascade, or 'migrating upstream vasodilation'. This vasodilation increases blood now to working muscles and improves oxygen supply. As exercise continues, an increased sympathetic nervous system activity and vasoactive hormones modulate vasodilation of vascular smooth muscle.

Thus, during exercise, vascular smooth muscle is regulated by several mechanisms that are designed to redistribute cardiac output and assure adequate tissue blood flow while maintaining arterial blood pressure.

No Pain...

When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine.
There's nothing like an exercise-induced "endorphin rush," but according to health psychologist Dr. Kelly McGonigal, the endorphins only explain a small part.
There are many other ways exercise makes us happier -- by lowering stress levels, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation, and helping people relieve anxiety and depression, among other benefits.
Start at any age, do as minimum in the beginning, your body will amaze yours.
Just a thought.

Natural...

The argument that natural immunity against COVID-19 is an alternative to vaccination is emerging as a potential legal challenge to federally mandated vaccination policies.

The 673,676-person Israeli study found that people who recovered from prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and remained unvaccinated were 27 times less likely to experience symptomatic reinfection from the Delta variant when compared to those who had not been infected and received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The study also found that previously infected people who received a single dose of the vaccine received additional protection against the Delta variant.

In a smaller study conducted by Washington University School of Medicine and published in Nature, senior author Ali Ellebedy, PhD, an associate professor of medicine and of molecular microbiology, found antibody-producing cells in the bone marrow of 15 of 19 study subjects 11 months after their first COVID-19 symptoms. "These cells will live and produce antibodies for the rest of people’s lives.

That’s strong evidence for long-lasting immunity. Just a thought.

Proceed...

Billions more in profits are at stake for some vaccine makers as the U.S. moves toward dispensing COVID-19 booster shots to shore up Americans’ protection against the virus.

U.S. health officials late endorsed booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine for all Americans 65 and older along with tens of millions of younger people who are at higher risk from the coronavirus because of health conditions or their jobs.

Boosters will likely be offered even more broadly in the coming weeks or months, including boosters of vaccines made by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

That, plus continued growth in initial vaccinations, could mean a huge gain in sales and profits for Pfizer and Moderna in particular.

“The opportunity quite frankly is huge.....

Taking out the Big Pharma marketing scheme, remove the Politicians who wants to be in the spot light. Then let the FDA approve the other vaccines and then let us decide for ourselves how to proceed.

Centrist...

While Republicans are opposing any of these irresponsible taxation and wasteful spending, the Democrats, progressive, Centrists, and others also are opposing many of the same.

So the "Unifier" is unable to unify his own party even when it comes to Taxation and Wasteful Spending. Who Knew?

Just a thought.

Cheek...

In November 2017, CNN’s Chris Cuomo struck an optimistic tone about the #MeToo movement. “I just feel like we have an opportunity here. Women are coming forward.”  They are indeed, and this time, the target is … Chris Cuomo.
“When Mr. Cuomo entered the Upper West Side bar, he walked toward me and greeted me with a strong bear hug while lowering one hand to firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock.”
That anecdote comes from Shelley Ross, who spent decades in TV journalism and worked at both ABC and CBS. In a New York Times opinion piece, she recounts this instance of sexual harassment from 2005, when she and Cuomo saw each other at a going-away party for an ABC colleague.  That is "a going away cheek press type of thing."
Ross had previously served as executive producer on “Primetime Live,” a show on which she served as Cuomo’s supervisor.   Just a "cheeky" thought.

T cell...

When daycare workers rolled out a lawn, planted forest undergrowth (such as dwarf heather and blueberries), and allowed children to care for crops in planter boxes, the diversity of microbes in the guts and on the skin of young kids appeared healthier in a very short space of time.

Compared to other city kids who play in standard urban daycares with yards of pavement, tile and gravel, 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds at these greened-up daycare centers in Finland showed increased T-cells and other important immune markers in their blood within 28 days.

The notion that an environment rich in living things impacts on our immunity is known as the 'biodiversity hypothesis'. Based on that hypothesis, a loss of biodiversity in urban areas could be at least partially responsible for the recent rise in immune-related illnesses.

Skeletal...

We probably think most about the muscles  you can control. . They are also called skeletal  muscles, because they attach to your bones and work together with your bones to help you walk, run, play an instrument, or cook a meal. The muscles of your mouth and throat even help you talk!
Keeping your muscles healthy will help you to be able to walk, run, jump, lift things, play sports, and do all the other things you love to do. Exercising, getting enough rest, and eating a balanced diet will help to keep your muscles healthy for life.
Strong muscles also help to keep your joints in good shape. If the muscles around your knee, for example, get weak, you may be more likely to injure that knee. Strong muscles also help you keep your balance, so you are less likely to slip or fall.
And remember the activities that make your skeletal muscles strong will also help to keep your heart muscle strong!

Prodigal...

The Prodigal Son, marble sculpture by Joseph Mozier, c. 1857, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

By all accounts, the Whitakers were a perfect family living in a community outside of Houston, Texas. That was all shattered on Dec. 10, 2003, when the family of four was gunned down as they entered their home. The dad, Kent, survived as did their son, Bart.

The investigation into the shooting revealed an intricate plot and a ruthless conspiracy. The mastermind of the plot is the oldest son Bart.   In 2007 he was tried, convicted,  given the death penalty.

Kent Whitaker[father] has fought to save Bart [son] from being executed.

The day Bart Whitaker was scheduled to die. Bart had a final meal. His father visited the prison for the last time before his scheduled execution.

Then his sentence was commuted to life in prison with no chance for parole for masterminding the fatal shootings of his mother and brother.

Undue...

What made us happy?

Aristotle proposed eudaimonia—of leading a virtuous life—as the pinnacle of happiness. The notion of living a meaningful and fulfilling life (e.g., making genuine social connections, excelling in one’s capabilities, being morally sound, etc.) bodes well with the positive psychology movement that emerged at the turn of the 21st century, giving rise to concepts such as flow, flourishing, and eudemonic well-being.

While the significant role that eudaimonia plays in happiness, the pendulum has swung too far in this direction when it comes to determining what “should” make people happy.

Too many people today , young and old, are under constant pressure to build a successful and prosperous career, do well in school, be a good parent (or child), make meaningful social relationships, or exert positive social influence.  The problem is that these “virtues” have become so synonymous with achieving happiness that they are placing undue burden on individuals.

Purge...

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has launched a purge of agency heads and other officials appointed by her disgraced predecessor Andrew Cuomo with at least nine bureaucrats either resigning or being told they’ll be out of a job within the next few days, sources told The Post on Friday night.

Topping the list of departures is Michael Hein, the former Ulster County Executive who was tapped by Cuomo in 2019 to oversee the state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.

Zucker, who had been in his position since 2015, was accused by critics of helping Cuomo minimize and disguise the terrible toll of COVID-19 in nursing homes across the state. It was he who issued the infamous March 2020 order that required nursing homes to accept coronavirus-positive residents returning from hospitals, provided they were not critically ill. Zucker also barred nursing homes from testing the returning residents for the virus.

Skyscraper...

Tim Snelson, of the design consultancy Arup, has just blown a hole in any claim they might have had to be environmentally sustainable. Writing in this month’s issue of the architecture magazine Domus, he points out that a typical skyscraper will have at least double the carbon footprint of a 10-storey building of the same floor area.
He is talking about the resources that go into building it, what is called its “embodied” energy. Tall buildings are more structurally demanding than lower ones – it takes a lot of effort, for example, to stop them swaying – and so require more steel and concrete.
Snelson mentions “in-use” energy consumption and carbon emissions – what is needed to cool and heat and run lifts, which he says are typically 20% more for tall than medium-height buildings.
If all this might seem pretty obvious, it’s good to have calculations to attach to a hunch. And tall buildings are still sold on the basis that they are good for the environment. Mostly the argument is about density – if you pile a lot of homes or workplaces high on one spot, it is said, then you can use land and public transport more efficiently.
The pollitician keeps talking about Climate change, but rezone different area for more dense building. This is how the donation come from.  Just a thought.

Indictment...

More than half a dozen contractors were indicted for trying to score lucrative contracts by bribing supervisors at public housing developments in Brooklyn and Queens, officials announced Monday.

“The residents of NYCHA often live in conditions that are deplorable,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez at a press conference, referring to the embattled New York City Housing Authority. “This kind of brazen bribery cannot be accepted. This cannot be the way business is done. The residents of NYCHA deserve so much better.”

The DA and the city’s Department of Investigation announced at the joint press conference the takedown of nine contractors — Lakhwinder Kumar, Charanjit Singh, Satbir Singh, Davinder Singh, Nishan Singh, Surinder Singh, Guriqbal Singh, Jaswant Banga Singh and Bakhshish Chand.

Where does the tax money go? NYC budget of a 100 Billion Dollars ends up evaporated. Still the Democrats want to tax people some more. NYSHA, Homeless, MTA, Sewer, roads, ..etc

Muscles...

Loss of muscle mass and function (sarcopenia) may result from both acute and chronic diseases and, as in a vicious cycle, deeply impacts short- and long-term clinical outcomes.

Coronavirus disease 19, severely affects elderly people with chronic diseases such as arterial hypertension, overweight/obesity and type 2 diabetes.

These chronic conditions are often associated with sarcopenia in older individuals. It is therefore possible that sarcopenia itself is a risk factor for SARS-CoV-2 infection and critical illness.

It should also be highlighted that COVID-19, especially in its severe forms, involves marked elevation in inflammatory cytokines and prolonged immobilization, and is in fact associated with clinically significant weight loss.

Thus, sarcopenia may be a risk factor for COVID-19, while at the same time, COVID-19 infection and subsequent hospitalization may be an underestimated driver of cachexia and sarcopenia. Despite the potential clinical relevance of sarcopenia in COVID-19, little evidence is available in the literature to date.

Disparity...

The latest study, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, evaluated the real-world effectiveness of the vaccines at preventing symptomatic illness in about 5,000 health care workers in 25 states. The study found that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine had an effectiveness of 88.8 percent, compared with Moderna’s 96.3 percent.

Research published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the efficacy of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against hospitalization fell from 91 percent to 77 percent after a four-month period following the second shot. The Moderna vaccine showed no decline over the same period.

If the efficacy gap continues to widen, it may have implications for the debate on booster shots.

Scientists who were initially skeptical of the reported differences between the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines have slowly become convinced that the disparity is small but real.

“Our baseline assumption is that the mRNA vaccines are functioning similarly, but then you start to see a separation,” said Natalie Dean, a biostatistician at Emory University in Atlanta. “It’s not a huge difference, but at least it’s consistent.”

The discrepancy is not small and the real-world consequences uncertain, because both vaccines are still highly effective at preventing severe illness and hospitalization, she and others cautioned.

The question is where is Moderna and why is not approved? Just a thought.

Jobs are one reason why young adults are vulnerable to coronavirus infection. Many people in their 20s and 30s work in health care, food and essential services such as public transportation.

Young people often work in areas at high risk for exposure to the coronavirus, such as bars and restaurants, schools, child care centers and retail shops. College students can be affected by campus outbreaks and spread the coronavirus when they return home.
Since young people are less likely to have severe cases of COVID-19, they may have a false sense of confidence regarding their safety. They may feel that mingling with others in large groups, attending parties, not wearing masks and ignoring community pandemic guidelines will not seriously endanger them.

Scarce...

In Tennessee, the patients first in line for the monoclonal antibody Covid-19 treatment are likely to be the ones who landed in the emergency room because they did not get vaccinated.

Extraordinary demand coupled with the federal government’s need to cap shipments of these scarce drugs has forced Tennessee health officials to recommend limiting the treatment to unvaccinated patients with the worst cases of Covid-19.

The bright side is many companies will step up ti manufacture the items.

Value...

Most people overlook the value of social relationships; they prefer to keep their heads down and check things off the to-do list. But researchers agree that friendship and sociability are important, especially when it comes to work.

In fact, a 32-year study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that when we focus on building deep relationships with our colleagues, we become more productive and creative. Another study found that groups of friends outperform groups of acquaintances in both decision making and effort tasks.

Some people feel that asking work-related questions are boring and generic, while others refrain from anything personal, fearing that they might sound intrusive or nosy.

But that's the wrong mindset, both work questions and non-work related questions are perfectly legitimate. It's all about context.  Just a friendly thought.

This President will destroy the Democratic party big time. He seems to be working to enhance the Republican party's future as never done before.

Death of Americans caused by Covid is 676,000 since last year. Half of this number died during Biden/Harris time where a vaccine is available.

Harris said during Obama/Biden time the Ebola Epidemic only took 2 lives in the USA!!!

What happened here? Who are we trying to fool.  Just a thought.

Submarine...

France announced on Friday that it was immediately recalling its ambassadors to the United States and Australia in protest of President Biden’s announcement of an agreement to provide nuclear-powered submarines to Australia without consulting French officials.

In a statement, the French foreign minister said the decision was made by President Emmanuel Macron.

The decision by Mr. Macron deepened the rift between the two longstanding allies over the submarine deal, which American and Australian officials kept secret from the French until just before the announcement on Wednesday.

But the move by the French to recall their ambassador to the United States, Philippe Étienne, in order to consult with other officials about the American decision is the kind of step usually taken to punish another country, signaling a bad relationship.

This didn't happened when Pres. Obama spied on Germany's Angela Merkel or during Pres Donald Trump.  Just a "Unifier" thought.
