New York State has indefinitely halted the issuance and renewal of certain commercial driver’s licenses for non-citizens after federal officials threatened to withhold millions in transportation funding, marking a significant shift in state licensing policy amid escalating immigration and regulatory disputes under Governor Kathy Hochul.

The pause affects New York’s non-domiciled commercial driver’s license (CDL) program, which previously allowed individuals who were not permanent U.S. residents but possessed valid federal work authorization to obtain commercial driving credentials.

A spokesperson for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed the change following federal intervention.  Just a thought.

CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten reported on Thursday that the shifting ideological makeup of the Democratic Party has an “all-time high” percentage of Americans calling the party “too liberal.”

In a conversation with anchor Kate Bolduan, Enten broke down the shift in the Democratic Party, noting that conservative Democrats are all but extinct, while far left-leaning Democrats are ascendant.

Back in 1999, 26% of Democrats self-identified as conservative. Just 5% said that they were very liberal. It was a smidgen. 

Now that far left has gained considerably in power. Look at this: now we’re talking about a fifth of Democrats, 21% say they’re very liberal. That conservative part of the Democratic Party? Adios, amigos. Could be just 8%. Just a thought.

LABOUR MP, Member of Parliament, Joani Reid has resigned from the party as an internal investigation takes place after her husband was arrested on suspicion of spying for China.  

The MP’s husband David Taylor is understood to be among the three men nabbed by Counter Terror police on suspicion of assisting foreign intelligence.

Ms Reid has now confirmed she is “voluntarily suspending myself from the whip” and “will not sit as a Labour MP” until the internal investigation has concluded.

In a statement shared on X this evening, she wrote: “This week has been the worst of my life. The shock of recent days has been difficult for me and my family.

CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria opened his program by skewering “blue cities” like Los Angeles and New York for being dysfunctional embarrassments that tax residents an arm and a leg but fail to deliver on a number of issues, from public safety to affordable housing.

New York is really a prime example of a problem Democrats seem unwilling to confront,” Zakaria said. “Blue cities are out of control, promising more, spending more, delivering less, and pushing off the fiscal problems to some future day.”
Zakaria ripped NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s proposed 9.5% property tax increase, saying it was an unwise move considering how heavily taxed New Yorkers already are.

He gave Mamdani a quick compliment a moment later, saying his “basic instinct” on housing being unaffordable for middle-class residents is correct. But he said NYC has tackled the problem incorrectly, CNN flashed a graphic showing NYC’s rental assistance subsidies have increased fivefold since 2020 from $263 million to $1.34 billion in 2025.

The Dems believe taxing everyone, time and time again under the Umbrella of taxing the rich. In reality they are taxing everyone, to collect money to spend it the way they please. in the process, friends, relatives, associates may benefit the most. Recent NYC administration as an example.
