Phil Falcone, hedge-fund billionaire fallen on tough times.  

Once a hedge-fund superstar worth $2 billion, bad investments have left him having to sell off his prized possessions to pay his bills: Upper East Side townhouses, a Hamptons mansion, a custom-made grand piano, all gone.

Now he is in a legal tussle with a pawnbroker over millions of dollars of goods he and movie producer wife Lisa Maria Falcone put up as collateral, according to court records. It’s a long fall from grace from making a name as philanthropists and hosting movie stars.

It’s quite a comedown for the cofounder of Harbinger Capital, which managed $26 billion at its peak.

But Falcone, who hauled in most of his cash betting huge against sub-prime mortgages like in movie “The Big Short,” remains optimistic about a comeback, even as others wager against him.

On August 28, 2025, Mayor Eric Adams announced that 1,000 additional NYPD officers would be deployed to the Bronx for Labor Day weekend. This surge in police presence was a response to an increase in gun violence in the borough, with at least 15 people shot in the days leading up to the holiday. 

1,000 extra officers were assigned to the Bronx. This differs from the user's inquiry about 2,500 officers. The figure of 2,500 refers to the total number of foot patrol officers deployed citywide to address gang violence hotspots during the Labor Day weekend.

While NYC Mayor Eric Adams has stated that younger people are involved in gangs, this is not necessarily at odds with overall crime statistics showing a decline. 

The increase in youth involvement with gangs can be a cause of concern even if overall crime rates are decreasing due to other factors.

The stat of crime may be decreasing, but when it happens to you, you may not see

 it the same as the officials who have 24 hour a day protection.  Just a thought.

This September is not politics as usual. It is a referendum on the future of New York City: Will we remain a city of law, prosperity, and safety, or will we hand the keys to Zohran Kwame Mamdani, a self-declared democratic socialist, a cheerleader for Hamas, and an enemy of the Jewish community?

Mamdani does not just sympathize with radicals – he is one. His rise is powered by the Democratic Socialists of America, whose ideology is embraced by the likes of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

It is the same movement that has pushed to defund the police, vilify Israel, and dismantle the economy. 

This isn't hidden information. It is Mamdani’s platform: weaken policing, punish the wealthy, and side with Israel’s enemies under the banner of “solidarity.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed that an illegal migrant from Pakistan, who served in the U.S. military, has an extensive history of criminal activity paired with "lies about his military service."

According to an Inspector General’s report obtained by Fox News Digital from 2021, Chaudhry collected $449,459.82 in taxpayer dollars from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veteran’s Benefits Administration (VBA) and currently owes the federal government $81,080 for a mortgage reduction grant from the VBA

Once seen as a confident law-and-order Democrat with a flair for commanding headlines, Adams now faces mounting scrutiny, dwindling approval ratings, and a persistent drumbeat of scandals that have weakened his grip on power.

Behind the scenes, conversations among Democratic power brokers suggest the mayor may not finish his term, a rare prospect in New York politics. 

While Adams himself has not directly announced plans to step aside, allies and critics alike are beginning to prepare for what many see as an inevitable transition.

The Democratic National Committee is grappling with declining voter registration, indicated by an analysis by _The New York Times. 

The data shows a significant shift toward the Republican Party. Over 30 states and D.C., 

Democrats lost approximately 2.1 million registered voters, while Republicans gained around 2.4 million. 

This trend quickly sparked internal debate among party officials over whether to prioritize funding for nonpartisan voter registration drives.

The NYT report read, “Of the 30 states that track voter registration by political party, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single one between the 2020 and 2024 elections — and often by a lot.”

The report added, “That four-year swing toward the Republicans adds up to 4.5 million voters, a deep political hole that could take years for Democrats to climb out from.

Former Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler’s abrupt resignation from the board on Aug. 1 – and her unexplained absence at a key meeting two days earlier – left the financial community shocked and confused.

A CNBC review of Kugler’s personal financial disclosures and her Maryland state tax records revealed two seemingly incompatible descriptions of Kugler’s primary residence.

Kugler told CNBC Thursday that the apparent inconsistency in her real estate records was an error made by county tax officials.

Kugler’s government ethics financial disclosure forms for 2021, 2022 and 2023 list a mortgage on a “personal residence” valued in the range of $1 to $5 million.

But current state tax records for that property, which is in Bethesda, Md., contain a section that records whether or not a house is the owner’s “principal residence.”

During those same years, public records show that Kugler and her husband owned another Bethesda single family home, which then rented out and then sold in 2023 for $1.45 million.

These records have not been previously reported.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch touted the NYPD’s gang database as key in combating the rising gang violence in the Bronx — a tool that Democratic frontrunner Zohran Mamdani has vowed to abolish.

“Much of the violence of what we’ve seen over the last few weeks in the Bronx is gang-related — we know who the gang members are thanks to a Criminal Group database and know where they operate,” said the city’s top cop, praising what has also been referred to as the gang database.

In 2022, Mamdani, the far-left Democratic nominee in the mayoral race, joined a trio of council members calling on the dismantling of the gang database.

If and when, the officials ride the subway at night, live in the Bronx where the crime Statistics "decreased," and enjoy a freeze rent housing that they are talking about, then do whatever.

 With that, dismantle the police, get the government stands for vegetables and fruits, and start your clear description of idea of "International Intifada." Just a thought.
