Tanks U..

Toward the end of May, Switzerland moved forward with the sale of 71 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Germany on the condition that they would not be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The decision seeks to maintain Switzerland’s long-standing position of neutrality, although it represents a shift from previous years’ stricter stance, which had completely opposed such a transaction.

The move has already been approved by the Swiss Federal Council, the country’s seven-member executive body, which argued that the sale, under these conditions, does not violate Switzerland’s policy of not supplying weapons to countries involved in armed conflicts.

Investigated..

The ABC is investigating “serious allegations” that its defense correspondent Andrew Greene filed a story about a German shipbuilder without disclosing that he had traveled to Germany courtesy of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, which is hoping to win Australian navy contracts.
Media Watch revealed that Greene filed a story last week for ABC radio’s The World Today about how business is booming at German shipyards. The report, which has since been taken down, allegedly failed to disclose that the journalist had been a guest of the defense company.
“These are serious allegations, and the ABC is investigating them,” a spokesperson for ABC News said.

Surrender..

  • President Donald Trump is considering whether to launch a military strike against Iran as he demands the country’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “surrender” in Tehran’s conflict with Israel, current and former administration officials told NBC News on Tuesday.
  • Trump warned Khamenei that the U.S. knows “exactly” where he is “hiding.”
“Our patience is wearing thin,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump wrote shortly after declaring “total control” over Iran’s airspace.
“But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers,” he wrote.
Trump in a subsequent post made clear what he does want from Iran: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!..... Just a thought

Expected..

New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was released from federal custody Tuesday afternoon, hours after he was arrested by officers at immigration court in Manhattan after he tried to escort a migrant whom officers were attempting to arrest.
His arrest is the latest involving a Democratic politician in an immigration-related incident.
Lander, who is running in a crowded Democratic mayoral primary set to take place next week, had been monitoring immigration court activity in the past few days, walking alongside migrants as they exited their court appointments in response to reports that the migrants were being taken into custody by federal agents following court appearances.

Was that expected, or came out of the left field?  Just a thought.

Turnaround..

New Border Patrol data shows not a single illegal migrant was released into the United States last month, signaling an overwhelming turnaround since 62,000 were released into the country under the Biden administration at the same time last year.
We've said all along that the United States Border Patrol knows how to secure the border. We just need leadership, and with the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are proving exactly what we've been saying for years: Let us enforce the laws, and we'll get the job done."
"I think the American people are seeing that... And we're just getting started. We're not even close to being done."

Wonder why the previous administration didn't control this issue?

Arrest..

The Iranian regime has arrested scores of people across the country for allegedly sharing articles online “in support of the Zionist regime” – accusing them of disrupting the “psychological security of society” – including 60 people in Isfahan, where Israel claims to have targeted a nuclear site.

Since Israeli strikes began Friday, 28 people in the capital have been arrested and accused of spying for Israel, while on Monday, one man arrested on that charge two years ago was hanged in what appeared to be a message to any would-be collaborator.

In Return..

Sources told Reuters that Tehran had asked Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to press U.S. President Donald Trump to use his influence on Israeli Prime Minister to push for an immediate ceasefire.
In return, Iran would show flexibility in nuclear negotiations.

If President Trump is genuine about diplomacy and interested in stopping this war, next steps are consequential," Araqchi said on X.

"Israel must halt its aggression, and absent a total cessation of military aggression against us, our responses will continue. It takes one phone call from Washington to muzzle someone like Netanyahu."
Asked if he would agree to talks should Trump want that, Netanyahu told reporters that Israel was committed to removing the threats of both nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.

Smugglers..

Texas cops discovered 25 illegal immigrants — including an 11-year-old — “crammed” inside a box truck in the sweltering Texas heat last week — and the alleged smuggler behind the wheel said she was just hauling mattresses, dramatic bodycam footage showed.

They hailed from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, India, Cuba, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. was quickly cuffed.

She is charged with 25 counts of human smuggling.

Smugglers are desperately trying to find new ways to sneak migrants into the US without getting caught to keep their profits high, Homeland Security sources have told The Post.

Theatre..

Democratic representative broke rank within his own party by describing the altercation between law enforcement and Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) on Thursday as “theater.”
Speaking to Axios, Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) weighed in on the intense moment that occurred during a press conference with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
“I think that it’s never good when a senator or member of Congress gets roughed up by law enforcement,” Golden told Axios Thursday in an interview at the Capitol.
But, he added: “I don’t think politics as theater is what our job is here.”

Support..

Following Isreal’s initiation of air strikes against a wide range of Iranian military, infrastructure and political targets on June 13, Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes later that day.

Israel Defence Forces have continued to receive a range of support from across the Western world. On the other hand, Iran may not be getting that much of support.

The United States has actively employed ground based and maritime air defence systems to attempt to blunt Iran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel, and having bolstered Israel’s arms inventories for several months, is expected to resupply its forces if necessary.

The United Kingdom deployed fighter aircraft to the Middle East to provide greater protection against Iranian drone strikes, while a number of unconfirmed reports indicate that NATO members including Germany are providing aerial refuelling support to allow Israeli fighter aircraft to reach Iranian targets.

Iran, by contrast, lacks foreign support, with the fall of Syria to Turkish and Israeli backed insurgents in December 2024 having left it isolated in the region, while its primary supplier of ballistic missiles North Korea is not well equipped to make major new equipment deliveries in wartime.
