Cleaning..

On Monday, February 24, longtime anchor Lester Holt announced that he was departing from his role as host of NBC's Nightly News , a role he has held for the past decade.

He is the latest in a growing tally of news anchors who have left their posts or announced they are leaving their posts since the new year — and new administration — started. The list includes fellow NBC anchors Hoda Kotb Andrea Mitchell, and Chuck Todd, CBS anchor Norah O'Donnell , and CNN's Jim Acosta

In a memo to colleagues sharing the news, Lester revealed that the departure is in part to focus and expand on his hosting duties at Dateline, of which he has been principal anchor since September 2011.

He also said he will continue anchoring the network's flagship evening newscast until "the start of summer." There has been no word on possible replacements yet.

Failure in reporting the news, or just giving their own opinion on the news wasn't appreciated by the country.  Just a thought.

Steady Fall..

Newsman Chuck Todd spun his departure from NBC News by declaring it was a "ripe moment" for fresh opportunities, but RadarOnline.com can reveal he was "pushed out the door."

Although Todd was raking in $4million a year as NBC's chief political analyst, insiders said he was "humiliated" by his diminished role and ultimately forced out.

Chuck didn't walk away," added an NBC insider. "He was sidelined, stripped of influence, and left with no real choice. His exit was anything but voluntary."

It's been a slow, steady fall for Todd, 52, since his glory days as Meet the Press moderator.

A 22 percent drop in viewership led to his ousting from his prestigious post after 2022.

Turn..

After his whirlwind two-day visit to Ukraine, President Donald Trump's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg is within striking distance of sealing a rare-minerals agreement with the country.

The Ukrainian side made suggestions to the agreement text and sent it back to the American side.

Trump is seeking the rights to access Ukraine's natural resources in exchange for the United States having provided billions of dollars in support for the Eastern European country against Russia’s invasion. Trump said on Friday that the mineral deal is "pretty close."

The White House stresses that the deal would not be a guarantee of future aid for the war with Russia.

Congested..

The Trump administration said on Wednesday it was rescinding federal approval of New York City's congestion pricing program that is designed to reduce traffic and raise money to upgrade aging subway and bus systems.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the move will halt a program that "leaves drivers without any free highway alternative, and instead, takes more money from working people to pay for a transit system and not highways.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority and a New York bridge authority quickly filed suit in Manhattan seeking to block the move.
