Three Americans freed from Russian prisons under a landmark exchange deal.

A deal which saw 24 people released in the biggest prisoner exchange between Russia and the West since the Cold War.

They were among more than a dozen prisoners released by Russia.

In all, 16 political prisoners, journalists and others, including five Germans, were exchanged for eight Russians jailed in the U.S., Germany, Norway, Slovenia and Poland.

Among the Russians is Vadim Krasikov, a convicted Russian state assassin in German custody, as well as three other Russians in U.S. custody.

 Britain’s new government said on Friday it was dropping its predecessor’s query of the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) jurisdiction to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  

The ICC’s chief prosecutor has requested warrants for Netanyahu and his defense minister, Yoav Gallant, on suspicion of war crimes, infuriating Israel and irritating its closest ally, the United States. He requested similar warrants for three leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.  

The UK government believes very strongly in the rule of law, both internationally and domestically, and the separation of powers.”

China has responded to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, denouncing it as an "act of assassination."

Hamas said that Haniyeh was killed Wednesday in an Israeli raid on his residence in Tehran, a day after attending Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian 's inauguration.

"We are closely following the incident. China firmly opposes and condemns the act of assassination and is deeply concerned that the incident may plunge the region into greater turmoil," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said during Wednesday's press conference.  

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, with the Israeli Defense Forces telling a Newsweek reporter, "We do not comment on those reports."

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) told Newsmax his Democratic colleagues kept quiet about President Joe Biden’s “decline” because members of Congress are “rewarded for being cowards” and “punished” for telling the truth.

Speaking to Newsmax anchor Greta Van Susteren on Wednesday about Biden’s decision to drop out of the race following concerns about his alleged cognitive decline, Phillips said it had always been “just a matter of when.”

Last week, six individuals were indicted in Queens County, New York , for absentee ballot mail fraud.

It is essential to understand that the only reason they were caught was that a voter whose name was improperly used by the suspects went to vote and discovered a vote had already been cast in his name.  

That was the fatal flaw employed by the suspected scammers. If they were more sophisticated, they would have asked for ballots from individuals they knew were still on the voter rolls but had died or moved.

It does happen but difficult to detect.   Just a thought.

Democratic convention delegates may have been justified in picking whichever ticket seemed most likely to bring victory in November.

Biden made a mistake in seeking a second term. And he made another by refusing to bow out swiftly once the debate made his unfitness plain. But on Sunday, he did the best he could to reverse some of the damage. It’s now incumbent on Harris — and all other Democrats — to put together a campaign strong enough to reverse the rest.

In His finishing his job, protectig Democracy, he appointed someone to run, just blocking many who are far better in the Democratic party. Just a thought.

 He may have been slower than other Democratic insiders to make that calculation, but he fully understood it by Saturday night.
