The new president signed the orders just hours after taking the oath of office at the Capitol.

With the stroke of a pen, Biden ordered a halt to the construction of Trump’s U.S.-Mexico border wall, ended the ban on travel from some Muslim-majority countries, declared his intent to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization and revoked the approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, aides said.

Day One..

On the campaign trail, Biden laid out a long list of promises he said he'll get done on "day one" of his administration.

Among them, (1) he pledged to put a COVID action plan in place,
(2) sign a series of executive orders,
(3) re-enter the Paris climate change accord, and
(4) send a big immigration bill to Congress.
That's a ton to do on a single day— and that's not even everything he promised. Even his supporters say he's unlikely to get to everything on day one.
His Covid Plan ended up 800,000 Dad- Executive orders suspended the Key Stone XL pipeline, for Climate change he released 180 Million Barrels of oil from the strategic reserve, and approed more drilling and production. And finally, the Immigration- South Border actions or lack thereof.

Its Now..

With the war Russia/Ukraine entering its third year, Ukrainian President Zelensky is also fighting on another front—corruption.

On January 9, Zelensky's defense minister, Rustem Umerov, said an audit had uncovered corruption connected to military procurement worth $262 million in only the four months he had been in post. His predecessor, Oleksii Reznikov, resigned in September over scandals that threatened to sap domestic and international confidence in Kyiv.

These cases included the dismissal of two senior officials over allegations the ministry had inflated contracts for food supplied to troops, including eggs. In December, a defense ministry official was arrested on suspicions that he embezzled nearly $40 million in the fraudulent purchase of much-needed artillery shells for Ukraine's military.

It is Just the American dollars that is being syphoned under the war umbrella,,,, for variety of reasons. To some, its now or Never.  Just a thought.

Chilling..

Nagasaki atomic bomb.. AP

US President Joe Biden has been given a chilling nuclear warning over attacking Iran after three US soldiers were killed by a 'kamikaze' drone.

Ex-UN weapons inspector David Albright said the rogue state could be led into thinking that building nuclear warheads is their “best way out” if they are directly targeted by the US in retaliation for the deaths.

Mr Albright, who has previously claimed that Iran is just five months away from building 12 nuclear weapons, agreed it was important that the US sent a "clear message" by targeting the militants who were responsible for killings. But he urged Biden not to launch any direct strikes on Iran to avert a wider conflict amid heightened tensions.

The attack took place in the northeast of Jordan near the Syrian border, US Central Command said. American troops have long used the country as a basing point - with some 3,000 soldiers typically stationed there.

Is it time to recall the many soldiers all over the Middle East and avoid ending the world accidently with one bomb?

Fhooting..

The Ukrainian president’s shooting star has lost much of its altitude and gleam as Russia’s grinding invasion approaches the two-year mark.
An old war has turned into a plodding stalemate. The ballyhooed Ukrainian “offensive” has stalled.
The promised “breakthrough” remains stubbornly elusive – if possible at all.
The lethal, tit-for-tat exchanges have sadly become routine. Stoicism has replaced outrage. However it may be defined, “victory” is far beyond strategic or even conceivable reach.
Mass demonstrations of solidarity with Ukraine’s “brave” and “just” fight disappeared many months ago.
Lately, the only “news” that Zelenskyy and Ukraine are inviting is mostly bad – courtesy, in part, of unflattering leaks from a skittish White House.
