The CDC and FDA announced that their surveillance system flagged a possible link between the new Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent Covid-19 vaccine and strokes in people aged 65 and over, but said they were continuing to recommend the shots.

The surveillance “raised a question of whether” stroke risk was elevated in the 21-day period post-vaccination versus 22 to 44 days post-vaccination, according to a statement on the CDC website.

The real-time surveillance system, CDC’s Vaccine Safety Datalink, met criteria warranting further investigation into whether the bivalent Pfizer vaccine led to a higher risk of ischemic stroke, which occurs when arteries pumping blood to the brain are blocked by a blood clot.           Just a thought.

Colorado’s governor, Jared Polis, was caving to irate fellow Democrats and abandoning his practice of using charter buses to send migrants to New York and Chicago. 

It’s fair to wonder whether some didn’t want to draw attention to a “good” Democratic governor busing migrants to big cities in blue states the way those “bad” Republican governors did. 

Acknowledging it might mean those Republicans’ decisions weren’t being made simply out of xenophobic malice that maybe some states and localities really were seeing their resources stretched to the limit by the seemingly endless waves of migrants.

 

The point remains: With Democratic mayors denouncing a Democratic governor in the same tone they had reserved for Republicans, it’s time to toss aside the simplistic narrative of big, mean Republican governors shipping migrants elsewhere out of cruelty. Its time.

In a joint letter to Gov. Jared Polis, Eric Adams and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot demanded that Colorado "cease and desist sending migrants to New York City and Chicago."

Lightfoot and Adams asked Polis to ensure "values are lived in good times and especially in challenging times," saying Polis was sending migrants to cities where they lack family ties and community networks. They said New York and Chicago's resources were at "maximum capacity."

Aides to President Joe Biden have discovered at least one additional batch of classified documents in a location separate from the Washington office he used after leaving the Obama administration.  

After the discovery of documents with classified markings in his former office, Biden aides have been searching for any additional classified materials that might be in other locations he used.  

The additional documents classification level, number, precise location and dates of finding (Important) of the additional Classified documents were not immediately known as is the habit with this News team.
