Chinese President Xi Jinping landed in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh on Wednesday. A purple carpet was rolled out for the Chinese president, and canons were fired.

Saudi Arabia's grand reception of the Chinese president is only emblematic of the magnitude of their growing relationship, specifically around oil, trade and security. 

China is today Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner, with the value of the kingdom's exports to China having exceeded $50 billion last year, constituting more than 18% of Saudi Arabia's total exports in 2021. 

Bilateral trade between the two states is more than $80 billion dollars, SPA reported.

Note:
US recently threatened the Saudi regarding oil production cuts around the Election time. Just a thought.

The US shouldn’t expect the Netherlands to unquestionably adopt its approach to China export restrictions, a senior Dutch official warned.

“The Netherlands will not copy the American measures one-to-one.” 

 “We make our own assessment -- and we do this in consultation with partner countries such as Japan and the US.

While the Netherlands and Japan share many of the US’s security concerns, the two countries also see China as a major market that they would like to maintain access to.

Raphael Warnock’s victory in swing-state Georgia gives Democrats a welcome “lift,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Wednesday at the Capitol -- newly confident of sidelining Trump-inspired Republicans in Congress and reaching across the aisle to other GOP lawmakers to deliver on bipartisan priorities with President Joe Biden.

Tuesday’s election was for just one seat, but Warnock’s win in the tight runoff provides an unexpected capstone to the midterm election cycle for his party. It makes easier for Senate Democrats to organize and govern, and provides a crucial edge in a divided Congress as Republicans take hold of the House.

So after the election, where does the Democracy "Gimmic" stands. Is the Democracy now protected?

March, 7, 2020-   During a briefing on the novel coronavirus, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today declared a state of emergency to help New York more quickly and effectively contain the spread of the virus.  

He is signing the "New York State on PAUSE" executive order, which includes a new directive that all non-essential businesses statewide must close in-office personnel functions effective at 8PM on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

 New York will end the state disaster emergency declared on March 7, 2020, the state of emergency will expire after Thursday, June 24, 2021.Just a thought.

Warning that democracy itself is in peril, President Joe Biden called on Americans  to use their ballots in midterm elections to stand up against lies and violence.
