Crash .
Escalating power prices have sent collateral requirements soaring for energy companies that hedge their sales in futures markets. Estimates for these margin calls top $1.5 trillion.
Kristian Ruby, secretary general of power industry at Eurelectric, told Insider. "It's the situation that's rotten that's been triggered by a targeted disrupt of the market."
By contrast, the subprime mortgage crisis nearly two decades ago saddled banks with toxic assets. For Lehman Brothers, it triggered a bankruptcy filing after talks to arrange a rescue failed. This time the people are paying dearly for it in USA and Europe.
Britain's energy regulator announced Thursday that a cap on energy prices is going up by a record 54%, a change that will significantly burden millions of households already squeezed by rapidly climbing bills.
Cause and Effect. Just a thought.
Mackinzie..
While celebrities and entrepreneurs are busy buying lavish properties and homes, Jeff Bezos’s ex-wife Mackenzie Scott has decided to do just the opposite. She has pledged to donate her uber-chic Beverly Hills home to the Californian Community Foundation – a non-profit based out of Los Angeles.
The Community confirmed her recent giveaway of “two single-family residences valued at $55 million.
Ninety percent of the property’s sales will go toward the organization’s affordable housing efforts. The remaining will be used from its immigrant integration program to “advance opportunities for the millions of immigrants from throughout the world who call Los Angeles County home.”

Of-Gem..
It comes as global energy markets come under continued pressure following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and resultant supply caps and sanction by the G7.
Crumbling..
Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says Europe is struggling with energy and the “illusion” of getting by with just wind, solar and batteries has “come crumbling”.
“Their dirty little secret they were getting all that gas and coal from Russia just to keep the home fires burning when the windmills weren’t running – that’s come home to roost now,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“We need a reliable base load source and if it’s not gonna be coal … and gas for base load on that scale, then it has to be nuclear.”
Europ, part of the G7 didn't want to invest in anything related to energy. Let Russia do that and we keep our countries relatively clean.
Now, following US lead by not getting energy from their reliable next-door Neighbour, getting energy from other countries is costing three-fold, availability, transportation, other geopolitical unrest in faraway places and higher cost.
Inside..
Threat .
Two U.S. B-52 bombers flew a mission over the Middle East in an apparent show of force in the region, the fourth of its kind this year, the U.S. Air Force announced.
The latest flyover comes as the U.S. and Iran struggle to reach an agreement on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.
The U.S. has frequently flown such missions at points of high tension with Iran, per AP.
The U.S. bombers were accompanied by warplanes from the RAF, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, while representatives from 16 nations helped organize logistical support, per the press release.
Israeli warplanes also accompanied the mission, though their presence was omitted from the U.S. release.
Was that the cause of the Ukraine War... The threat that we want to exert in the area?
Just a thought.

Cannon..
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in West Palm Beach, Florida, granted Trump's request for a special master, an independent third party who is sometimes assigned in sensitive cases to review materials that could be covered by attorney-client privilege.
Cannon said the person will be tasked with reviewing documents that are not just covered by attorney-client privilege, but any records possibly covered by executive privilege as well.
Cannon also ordered the Justice Department to stop reviewing the records as part of its criminal investigation, a move that will likely at least temporarily hinder its ability to continue investigating.
The US Laws controlled the FBI. Just a thought.
