Facing growing pressure to ease up on pandemic restrictions, the White House insisted Wednesday it is making plans for a less-disruptive phase of the national virus response. 

But impatient states, including Democratic New York, made clear they aren’t waiting for Washington as public frustration grows.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New York will end its COVID-19 mandate requiring face coverings in most indoor public settings — but will keep it for schools. Illinois announced the same.

Earlier this week, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware all disclosed plans to join states that have lifted or never had mask requirements for their schools, and Massachusetts will follow suit at the end of the month. All but Massachusetts have governors who are Democrats, like President Joe Biden.

This administration is late, very late. Going to hell in a handbasket. Just a thought.

Former adult film star Stormy Daniels said on Tuesday she is "far angrier" with her former attorney, Michael Avenatti, than former President Trump. 

During an appearance NewsNationNow's "Dan Abrams Live," Daniels told host Dan Abrams that Avenatti betrayed her "trust" and lied to her face about stealing money from her. 

"Is it a ridiculous question to ask you who you're angrier at today? Michael Avenatti or Donald Trump?" Abrams asked Daniels. 

"No, not at all. I'm far angrier at Michael Avenatti," Daniels responded. 

I wonder where are the CNNs and the likes to yak about it for hours.

President Joe Biden said a crucial European gas pipeline, Nord Stream 2, will not go forward if Russia invades Ukraine, as high-level diplomatic efforts took place Monday to try to prevent an invasion, with Germany’s leader traveling to Washington and France’s president to Moscow.

Biden told reporters at the White House after a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, “the notion that Nord Stream 2 would go forward” in the event of an invasion by Russian tanks or troops is “just not going to happen.”

“I promise you we will be able to do that,” Biden said when asked how he could make that happen.

But Germany has stopped short of explicitly promising to halt the $11 billion Nord Stream 2 project, which would bring Russian gas to energy-hungry European consumers. On Monday, Scholz said only that his country was “absolutely united” with the United States and other NATO allies, “and we will not be taking different steps.”

Biden stopped the key stone pipe line and the prices of oil tripled. He now wants to punish the EU with cancel the Nord Stream 2. Is he aware of what he is saying?

Changing what you eat could add up to 13 years to your life, according to a newly published study, especially if you start when you are young.

The study created a model of what might happen to a man or woman's longevity if they replaced a "typical Western diet" focused on red meat and processed foods with an "optimized diet" focused on eating less red and processed meat and more fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains and nuts.

The largest gains in longevity were found from eating more legumes, which include beans, peas and lentils; whole grains, which are the entire seed of a plant; and nuts such as walnuts, almonds, pecans and pistachios, the study found.

It may sound simple to add more plants and grains to your diet, but statistics show that Americans struggle to do so. Just a thought.

Apparently the one who needs to have some chaos somewhere is the current President.

• Is Russia still moving troops to the Ukraine border? It certainly looks like it. A recent trip by the Guardian to the Voronezh and Kursk regions in Russia found a hive of barely hidden military activity as Russian troops continued to position themselves for a potential assault on Ukraine.

• Gas is not just a source of energy, sometimes it is a political weapon. As western countries weigh possible sanctions against Russia for an invasion of Ukraine, the future of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline hangs in the balance.

Amid unprecedented turmoil among the nation’s political leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the Joint Chiefs chairman to keep an “unstable” President Donald Trump from launching America into surprise military hostilities in his final days in office.

“The situation of this unhinged president could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to House Democrats.

I guess that works for the current unhinged one.
